I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't washed my car in almost a year--it rains so much in New Orleans that I sometimes feel like car washes aren't worth it if my car is just going to be rained on the next day! It's been a long time though so I figured my poor car deserved some love. Since it's been a while since I last washed my car, I wasn't sure what to expect given that this is a drive through car wash. I did the platinum wash ($20 normally, $18 on Tuesdays) and was impressed by the results! All the gunk, hard water marks, etc. were washed away, and my car was shinier than I've seen it in a while. I almost forgot what my clean car looked like haha, and it was nice to be reminded of it again. Granted it won't give you what a hand wash spot will, and for the price it's definitely worth it! There's attendants every step of the way to direct you, and the whole process was quick and easy. They also have free vacuums for you to use, and car washes are $2 off every Tuesday. They had a man walking around asking if you have plastic mats to clean and he would clean them for you! I didn't have enough quarters for the machine to buy anything, a lovely lady stopped me and said I can buy some things with my car. I got the tire shine stuff that can be pretty gross on your hands. With my favorite car wash still closed due to Hurricane Ida damages, my search led me to Pelican Point. Easy to get into. An attendant met me at the payment machine. I opted for the platinum wash ($18, with Tuesday $2 off deal). Pulled forward and was met by two guys who pre-washed my ride and directed me into the track for the adventure ahead. After a few minutes of colorful foam, spinning brushes and a powerful blow dry, my car and I emerged from the other end of the wash tunnel. I then circled around to the free vacuums (it appears that they're free with or without purchasing a wash). The vacuums worked fairly well and the car is reasonably clean, with only a few bugs left and a little water dripping from doors, mirrors, etc. I was glad I had a towel with me. Although I much prefer the full-service washes where someone else vacuums and washes windows, inside and out, but this one is about have the price, so not bad in a pinch. In spite of the location, the facility feels safe, with plenty of attendants on site, keeping the grounds clean, etc. I wish they'd post someone at the end of the wash to towel the car off, as we all know the blow dryers only go so far. read more

If you like lot music go to this location. Even though, Clearly. They're signs stating no loud music everywhere. I've complained, but it doesn't work so I drive all the way from the Riverbend to the location on Jefferson highway in Harahan. Great car wash which is convenient for most of my errands. They offer free vacuums and I like the option of the single stick or paddle vacuum. I did take a star off because they do not offer an air nozzle spray which I like to use on my dash and console crevices. Overall it's a great value. read more

I would had left 0 stars if I could, but people need to know what a horrible experience I had @ this place. After driving home and coming back to Nola, my car had a enormous amount of bugs attached to my car. I was recommended pelican car wash from a friend and thought my experience would be good but it was anything but that. The worker there was too concerned with trying to get a number than doing his JOB. I went through the car wash once and had the bugs still on my car. I asked the gentleman who preps the car before you enter into the wash machine, and he said I can go back through because it wasn't fully cleaned. When I made my way back, little did I know that I would be harassed for say "I having a bf" (an excuse) for not trying to entertain the man who @ the front gate to get through. He kept on persisting that since "I have a bf," I am not entitled to get the $20 car wash that I had already paid for. He said and I quote , "you like a man with money?" and how much do I cost?" Insisting that I am an Object that can be paid for, how dehumanizing... he than proceeded to tell me I am unable to go through again because I have a bf. So, I pulled up and asked the guy who scrubs the car before go in the was machine, if I could borrow the scrub to wipe the front of my car because I was unable to go through the gate, due to the fact the the gate guy wouldn't let me go through. He let me use the scrub and I was confronted by the guy who was working at the front gate of the place again. He proceeds to taunt me as I sat there cleaning/ scrubbing the front of my car. And later say that I could go back and he would let me go through, but it was all lies and deceptions. When I pulled up for a THIRD TIME, he then begins to say all the same demeaning words as before. I told him MULTIPLE TIMES That ALL I wanted was to get my CAR WASHED and nothing else. Why was I made to feel that I would have to accept/ entertain him or I would not be to get my car wash at this place. Finally he said well , you need to pay again, as some type of punishment for turning his advances down many times. I didn't argue and paid the EXTRA $10 just for my car to be left the same way as it was when I pulled up the first time. I WILL NEVER be BACK @ this establishment AGAIN. Conclusion... Wasted $30 , 3 hours of my life and was dehumanized for trying to get my car cleaned on Mother's Day. read more

I'm going 1 star for a couple of reasons. I took my truck in first, and noticed after the wash there were marks from the brushes that marred the paint on the hood and sides. It's 11 yrs old, so I didn't say anything, and I didn't have "before" pictures to prove the marks weren't there already. I took my other car up there to vacuum, and at the last minute, decided to run it through the wash. BAD MOVE!! Halfway thru, I felt a bump on my car, like someone hit me. The windows were covered in soap, so I couldn't see anything.. A second later, another bump. Then the rinse came and I could see my car was bumper to bumper with the truck in front of me. My car was PUSHING the truck out. What happened was the truck lost its bumper, and wouldn't roll over it. My car came up behind and boom. The manager on duty (Ethan) was polite, and took pictures, but said the video showed the car ahead of me to be at fault, and so the car wash wasn't liable. He did show me the video (said he couldn't give me a copy), and gave me contact info for other management for the car wash. The other driver said it wasn't her car, didn't know about the bumper, and I'd have to talk to the owner of the truck. The next day I got a call from her saying I hit from the back, so I was at fault. Funny, but not true. So now I'm stuck paying out of pocket to fix something obviously not my fault. read more

Went here te ester day because my car was in need of a bath. It was a nice brisk day, and what better weather to wash and vacuum the car??! I get the platinum wash, because in my mind, it helps too keep my put put happy longer. Upon entering, the guys tape your back wiper if you have one. Scrub your tires and under carriage, and you ppl the car in neutral, and go along for the ride.y favorite part is the colorful soap because it's fun and smells good. The dryers are good enough, then you make a sharp left to the vacuums. Word to the wise: some vacuums may be out of service, so you have to look. But most worked when I was there. I love that you can use them forever. I took a good 40 minutes to get my whole car (Honda CRV) cleaned - including my windows and all the dashboards. The vacuums never stopped. It gets busy, too, so FYI - it might be crowded. Also, they have monthly plans, which I see are popular now. read more

Great customer service experience at this Carwash today! Warren (I hope that is his name) was so polite and informative when I was selecting my wash so I went ahead and decided to get the upgrade. Then when my car didn't get as clean as I would like (my own fault for not having it washed for months) Warren, who was actually walking around asking customers if they needed assistance, let me have another cycle thru the wash and came over after to help me dry my car. Ooohh fancy new suburban style car wash, right by my house! The cheapest wash is $6 and it gets the oak pollen off. Plus then you get to use the free vacuums. The vacuums aren't quite as powerful as some of the other car washes I've been to but they do get the job done with some extra effort on your party. I do wish they had the floor mat machines and more vending machines for supplies...instead I brought my own and had my the people around me try to mooch. Weirdly, if you go to the Pelican Pointe website to check hours or prices, this location is not listed. Maybe they just haven't gotten to that yet. Great car wash not too far from downtown. They do a great job of getting the bugs off. The scrubbers in the wash hit pretty hard on the car, but I doubt it's doing any damage. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes, as long as there is no line. Free vacuums are cool, although they aren't free. The price of the wash is a little higher than most washes of this type, so the vacuums are just factored into the overall prices. I found the vacuums to be a little weak, but the get the job done. New discovery: I've been trying to find a decent car wash that could get the tree sap off my car, along with the sand and dust from the never-completed road work in my neighborhood. Pelican Pointe is on my route between home, gym and groceries, so I tried it. Staff are beyond helpful, guide you through the automatic entry, so you start off with a good experience. The first time, I chose the second tier service, and they did a great job, and the gunk came off, so I signed up for a package deal - there's one for everybody, I promise. More than anything, Pelican Pointe provides outstanding customer service. The manager, Joseph, handled a slight problem easily and cheerfully, replaced a damaged part on my car, and even threw in some extra car washes. The rest of the crew have great attitudes, get the job done well and fast, and you leave with a beautifully clean car. Try it! You'll be amazed! read more

So I am not a nice car mom, and on this (fingers-crossed) final day of owning Rhonda the Honda, I took her to get a bath. I grabbed a fistful of quarters and headed here since it always looks busy. Pulled up to a lovely person at the payment machine who inserted my mula ( I also had enough cash but looks like they take coins, cash and card) for the works, the $15 wash ( today it was $13, not sure why) and headed into the foam disco party followed by jet-blown wind. I think you can usually pay on your own but I like that they were expediting the process. I will say, if you have an older or fragile car, these jets don't play. It was like muppet crazy arms where the rubber had previously been coming off from my window and my wiper blades attempted flight. But all the leaves from my neighbors tree had vanished and the car was a new level of shine she had not seen in years. After the wash, I rolled over to use the free vacuums. It's quite pleasant not to have to NASCAR pit stop suck all the crap out of every nook and cranny before the hose turns off. They also have a mat washing station and you can buy cleaning wipes and scented things. I will probably bring Shellonda, the new Honda (don't tell Rhonda), here sooner than later to keep her clean as well since I prefer the DIY-ness of it...and who doesn't love a foam party. read more

My poor car hadn't been washed in forever and I finally decided to stop at this carwash on my way home. I didn't realize that the basic wash was only $6 until I checked Yelp reviews. But when I used the machine to pay, it only charged me $3. Fun new automated car wash right here in the city. Washes go from $6-$15 and they have monthly passes that give you unlimited washes. I think it's insanely fun to stay in the car while it's being washed and they have a ton of blinking, colored lights to enhance the experience. No shame in admitting I giggled like a school girl the entire time. Tons of free vacuums to use, but we didn't try those today. Knocked off 1 star because for $15 there were still quite a few bugs smattered across the front bumper and the windshield, but overall satisfied, and will be back! read more

You really cannot beat a $5 car wash. Even my broke/cheap ass will find an excuse to 'splurge' on this--partly to get the gunk and grime off the outside of the car, but mostly to have access to those high-capacity vacuums to suck out all the crap that's accumulated inside my car. It's always nice to get a good scrub on before I have visitors or take a road trip, and at such a low price I always feel like I've gotten my money's worth. Now, I much say that the $5 wash doesn't actually thoroughly clean all of the dirt off my car--but that's probably because I take it in once every 6-8 months and what can you really expect? I love Pelican Pointe Carwash. I bought the $19.99 monthly pass two years ago and use it all of the time. My car comes out nice and clean. The dryers do not get my car dry, so I always dry it off with my own chamois at the vacuum station. Oh, it is nice that they have two sizes of vacuums to use, one for the nook and crannies and the other for the mats, etc. The one thing I really like about Pelican is that I had to cancel my monthly washes in the summer and there was no problem what so ever, which was awesome as I thought it might be a hassle. When I was ready to start back up they had my information in the system, and it was quite easy. The only thing I wish they had was a pass where someone else dried my cars and cleaned my windows inside and out. This service was available at a carwash in another state and I loved it! read more

I was expecting the Ritz of car washes just based on the appearance of this place from Claiborne Avenue. Pelican Pointe is not that, but it does the job just fine. I went for the $12 car wash, which was one step down from the top Platinum wash for $15. My tires needed serious help (lots of bayou mud!), and this wash made them shine again! I would guess that the $8 wash would have done the trick too, and for more normal circumstances in the future, I will probably just go for the $6 wash. The automated payment lanes were easy to use and fast and efficient. The self-vacuums are free post-wash. There's a vacuum conveniently located on each side of your car so you can easily reach all spots inside your vehicle. It would be nice if they provided rags or towels in the post-wash vacuum area, but I'll be sure to bring my own with me next time for those touch-up spots. Note to "permanent-bike-rack-on-the-car" drivers: they made me take mine off before the wash and did it for me, but offered no assistance putting it back on and just threw it in my trunk. I've been to other automatic car washes in the area who have let me leave it on. read more
