However: We got to New Orleans in the middle of a heat advisory. It was REALLY hot. We don't have A/C in our vehicle but are prepared to manage it...and we did. Lots of ice, fans, and we spent a lot of time during the day inside venues. The swimming pool at this place was HOT. Like, 95 degrees hot. I suppose, aside from actively cooling it, there's not much they can do about this, but I also know that N.O. is prone to being hot like this so I wouldn't expect the pool to be much of a perk. Having 24/7 ice machine was great. We definitely used that. There was a very nice australian couple at the spot next to us that we struck up a conversation with on our first night. They had a rental RV and the A/C was broken so they were struggling like we were and we had a good laugh about that. The next day, we came back and the gentleman came over and told me that the people that run the RV park had refused to let him put some water bottles in the freezer and that they had called the police on him so I shouldn't be alarmed if the police showed up. Sure enough the police came and the nice couple was trespassed off the property....because they had tried to put some water bottles in the freezer inside. They were not offered a refund. The officers were nice enough but....this seemed like a total dick move on the part of management. Everyone was VERY hot...like...flex a little, you know? You've also read other reviews so you know that they're right by the freeway. We knew this and were prepared. HOWEVER- there is also a SHRIMP PROCESSING PLANT on one side...right over the wall from our spot...and let me tell you, during a HEAT ADVISORY the last place you want to be is next to a SHRIMP PROCESSING PLANT. It smelled like low-tide and death. It was horrible. Also, the trucks began showing up at about 5:30 to load up on, presumably, shrimp. The workers were yelling at each other and revving their cars. We were woken by it most mornings. The place is for sale. There are signs up in every parking spot announcing that it's for sale. While the location is clean...they don't really seem to care much for the customers...like maybe they're already checked out? Another odd thing: the first morning that we were there (we got there Friday night so I'm talking Saturday morning) their grounds crew started mowing the lawn at 7am. Mowing and using the weed whacker right at our spot. There was no sleeping. They were literally mowing around our trailer. A foot away from my head. The next day, Sunday, after the nice australian couple had vacated their spot, there was a guy there weed-whacking that spot. Very early in the morning. So- we were woken early every morning by unneccesary noise and shrimpy fish stank. Short story: This place is super expensive. If we were in an RV we might have been happier, but...they are not going out of their way to help anyone in need, and in fact are making decisions that are not in the best interests of their guests. If you do something they don't like, for whaterver reason, they'll just boot your ass off the property and use NOPD to do it. I don't think I'd go back, but if you're looking for a spot close-ish to Bourbon Street and are in a sound-proof RV, it might not be so bad.

We have been to this campground previously with no issues, but this time one of the staff members -…read morewe were told his name may be Anthony - was extremely rude to us at the pool, almost ran over us by the gate while we waited for our Lyft ride as he sped through the park - and instead of apologizing to us he yelled at us as he sped off. Saturday mid-day after telling us to lower our music at pool - which wasn't loud - he proceeded to share a blunt with another guest and apparently didn't have a problem with their music. My daughter was in a waterview villa and her shower barely worked and was missing a remote. Her in-laws were in a floating villa - the boardwalk to their villa was so rickety and leaning that my mother in law refused to go to a family party there. The villas were dirty, needed pressure-washing, the decks were covered with dirt dobber nests, and there appeared to be mold in the bedroom. The pool was dirty, it needed vacuuming pretty badly. This wasnt our first trip but it will definitely be our last.

I have taken short trips for the weekend and even stayed as long as a week. Over our visits we have stayed in all 3 suites and they are all fantastic!!! Matt is amazing and having the owners on site is always a huge plus in my book. From the moment we checked in we felt like we were old friends and coming back home. Since my first stay in 2011 I have returned numerous times. I relocated to New Orleans in 2013 and the worst part about living here is not being able to stay at The Bearigny. But I do send my visiting friends and family to the Bearigny and I've even done a staycation or two. Can not wait for my next visit!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

During our stay there was a movie crew on Rampart street filming Jamie Fox for the show "Power" which was pretty cool. As for The Marigny Suite, it was really well laid out, well maintained and exactly as advertised. The owner, Matt was really great and personable. He was very helpful with suggestions on places to go and eat. I would definitely rent from him again when we get a chance to go back.

We recently stayed here for 5 nights on a trip to NOLA. We were with a larger group and our rooms…read morehad been covered, otherwise we would have left after the first night. That being said, I'll start with the pros, because there were a few... LOCATION: It is, indeed, well located. Kerlerec Street is apparently unknown by the locals (we mentioned it to several shop owners and cab drivers... no one had a clue where it was), but it's only a block away from Bourbon Street and close to Frenchmen Street, as well as a short walk from all kinds of amazingness in the French Quarter. Quiet street, no complaints there. It also has a fence in front with a locked door, so all of the outdoor areas and courtyards are protected. PRIVACY: This could go either way... but it was definitely private. As in... the owner/manager did NOT make an appearance even ONCE during our 5 night stay. Not a peep. Nada. If you're here with a group looking to party and go crazy... awesome, you'll love it. If you're looking for SOME kind of attention or acknowledgement, you might be a bit disappointed (as I was). Cons... DECOR: The website states that "Our cottages are luxuriously furnished". I don't know if I'd agree with that. Our room certainly wasn't, and we got a small tour of the rooms when we arrived (we were the first of the group) and the rest certainly didn't fit the bill either. Dusty? Yes. A bit dilapidated? Sure. Dirty enough that you don't want to walk around barefoot or use the towels on your face? Yeah. But there's nothing "luxurious" about it. I know it's historical and all of that but come on. MANAGEMENT: As I mentioned, we were with a large group, and we were guests of one couple in the group. They were the ones to pay and arrange the rooms. When we arrived, we were instructed by the couple to call the property manager, Trinna, to be let in, since she wouldn't be on the property (even though there was a large wedding group arriving and we got there around 1:30pm). She was very curt and somewhat rude on the phone, but let us in when we arrived. She was dressed in ripped jeans and an oversized, dirty t-shirt... not exactly what I expected. She didn't seem to know what to do with us, so she gave us a weird, lazy tour around the property so we could pick our own room (this was at our request, since she seemed fine with having us sit in the main house parlor for 1.5 hours until the couple who booked the place arrived). We chose our room and she showed us the layout of keys in the main house, and then disappeared. Literally -- we had no idea where she went, and she didn't tell us anything. Cool. Apparently she didn't even come back to greet the couple (who booked the entire place for 25 people and who were having their wedding there) even though she knew what time they'd be arriving, so they had to come find us in the French Quarter for keys. Fun! CONVENIENCES: The website states that "The main house and other cottages all have the conveniences of the modern home.", which is partially true. We did have a coffee maker in our kitchenette, but no coffee, and no cups or mugs. We had a microwave. We had a small stove top and some utensils (spatula, spoon, etc) but no pots or pans, no silverware, nothing of the sort. I know they're "guest apartments" but when you're flying somewhere, how the heck are you expected to provide your own silverware, mugs, etc? I'm not asking for much here -- you can get mismatched silverware and dishes at Goodwill. The website also claims: "All of the cottages have a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, wine, martini and champagne glasses as well as high ball and low ball glasses" -- certainly not true for us. We were also provided with maybe 4 rolls of toilet paper and 2 rolls of paper towels for 2 of us for 5 nights, and no instructions on how to replenish it. The two trash cans were microscopically small and yet no instructions on what to do with our trash when it's full. The TV was itty bitty and placed way up in the corner near the ceiling, and one side of the bed had one of the four posters blocking it right down the middle. They also supplied us with a VHS player and a boombox CD player... welcome to the 90's, y'all. GENERAL CLEANLINESS & DISREPAIR: The front room, which was our bedroom, was mostly fine, except for the SERIOUS coating of dust on our ceiling fan. The kitchen was okay, except for the cabinet doors and drawers that were literally coming off the hinges. Like, you give it a tug to see what's inside and BOOM, it's off. Underneath the sink was all dank and moldy looking. The bathroom, though, was the worst. The tiles on the floor were coming off in several spots -- a couple times I stepped out of the shower and had tiles stick to my wet feet. Gross. The shampoo rack in the shower was peeling all over and covered in rust. The tub only had a clear liner, which was obviously covered in grime. And to top it off, there's a stained glass window behind the tub that's broken. WHEE!

The house is old - that should be understood. Because of this, it isn't perfect. Some of the doors don't latch, there are cracks on the walls, and there are uneven floors. However, that is nothing in comparison to the wonderful beauty of the complex. Communication with the owner was fantastic. We had a small issue that informed the owner of and someone was sent out right away. I highly recommend staying here. Century-old doors are more important to me than new construction in the CBD. Lastly, the courtyard made the house! It was wonderful to have such a snaking courtyard with multiple hang-out spots (and a hot tub) for my friends and family to hang out at. A little far from coast but we discovered several restaurants along the way that were wonderful. One tiny problem we had was when we first pulled in to park. We were told to take the first "right" to drive to our site. The first right turned out to be the pull out lane for the first row of RV's, not an actual street. We couldn't back the trailer that far so had to unhook our trailer there, unload car, pull trailer through an empty RV space with the car, then back the RV up. This was mostly our fault, but you might post that road as "not a thru street" or something. I think we gave the RV travelers sitting outside visiting quite a show and a laugh!

I recently had an amazing experience staying at the Poolhouse Palazzo in New Orleans Louisiana. The…read morelocation is very convenient (within walking distance) to very good restaurants and attractions within the city. We stayed for a company convention and enjoyed morning walks to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The historic home is very warm and inviting with beautiful decor and comfortable furniture including couches and luxurious beds. We had three guests but the size of the rooms and facilities could boast housing at least 10 people comfortably. There is one spacious full bath upstairs and one half bath downstairs conveniently located by the back entrance door to the large pool. The above ground pool is a very good size with pool floaties and outdoor furniture at your disposal. The backyard also includes a hot tub and shower perfect for entertaining and relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was the perfect lounge area to chill after a long day of exploring the city. I am thrilled to recommend this home for its warmth and inviting character if you really want to experience living in the historic district of New Orleans. You won't be disappointed at the amenities, character and charm of this lovely home.
