These people bent over backwards to help us . we were scheduled to go to Pensacola and we backed into the LP gas and the RV died. These people were so amazing. Our RV had to be repaired and it sat for four days and every day they would come and check on us. These are really good caring people . We will forever come to this KOA during the holidays so many improvements new laundromat nice patio furniture nice pool area big oak trees lots of shade a shuttle to downtown New Orleans. It just doesn't get any better than this. It is one block from the Mississippi with a nice bicycle trail that goes forever .

But when the hot tub didn't work (I had called earlier before checking in to confirm it was on and hot) the front desk girl basically did everything she could do to blame other people and that weather cause the hot tub to not work. I even had a staff member confirm it was not the weather, right in front of her. lol She doesn't quite have a handle on customer service, so for that reason I will choose nearby Rv parks that are better managed and just pay the slight extra uber fees. Hopefully a few people see this and avoid similar calamity, maybe shrinking reservations will catch ownerships attention.

Established in 1942, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, the most-visited park in Louisiana has nature trails, a sandy beach, a new, all-inclusive playground, a splash pad, and the ruins of an 1829 sugar mill situated among towering oaks. Some walked while some biked. Sugar Mill is a looping trail about a mile long. The alligator boardwalk trail was closed, likely due to damage from Ida and hasn't been repaired yet. There was another trail, but we did not take it. The massive cypress are just awesome! The Spanish moss slowly wavering in the air as you walk underneath these giants is just captivating to me! We did not encounter any creatures except squirrels and a male Orchard Orbweaver and his impressive web. Sooo much space and things to do here we didn't even do all of it. There's big open fields for playing, a playground, tons of parking available. I did see the pier and water of Lake Pontchartrain in the distance, but we were too hungry to keep exploring lol $3 per person to enter the park - 100% worth it

There is an on-site restaurant with large TV's where you can get a bite and a drink and watch the game. This park's best kept secret is Adam! For $20/pp he will take you to the French Quarter so you don't have to waste time looking for parking, and can better enjoy the area. Extra bonus: Adam will take you on a tour of New Orleans and show you some of the prettiest parts of town. It's about a 3 hour tour for $60/pp. As it was hot and muggy, it was a pleasant way to spend part of the day. The camp office will give you his information on check-in. Saturday mid-day after telling us to lower our music at pool - which wasn't loud - he proceeded to share a blunt with another guest and apparently didn't have a problem with their music. My daughter was in a waterview villa and her shower barely worked and was missing a remote. Her in-laws were in a floating villa - the boardwalk to their villa was so rickety and leaning that my mother in law refused to go to a family party there. The villas were dirty, needed pressure-washing, the decks were covered with dirt dobber nests, and there appeared to be mold in the bedroom. The pool was dirty, it needed vacuuming pretty badly. This wasnt our first trip but it will definitely be our last.

This is the most bizarre story I've ever heard. Why would we throw our own belongings in the camper? And I believe this manager is trying to elude to us coming back and staying there?? Absolutely not! We stayed 3 days at a beautiful rv park only 8 minutes away called the New Orleans Rv park and marina. I highly recommend others to do the same. The accommodations there are great! Even a restaurant and bar on site! And 24 hr laundry. This manager now refuses to give us a corporate # acting like she couldn't hear my husband on the phone. I assume she is trying to say we stayed there so we can't get money back? The $55 isn't even worth dealing with this level of crazy. I can only assume they must need the money more than us. I even said the lady was nice enough in my original review. Safe to say that's retracted. TRUST ME DO NOT STAY HERE. Original review (unedited): We saw the great reviews on this place so we were excited to stay here. We arrived at about 3:20pm on a Sunday. We thought that it being a gated rv park was a benefit but when we got there and saw the barbwire on the fence, and the surrounding areas, that this was because it wasn't in a good part of town. There were no real amenities aside from the showers and laundry room. The showers were awful. They stunk and there were stains/rust on the walls and floors and everything looked broken. I only took pics of 1 shower room but the other one had a random rubber glove laying in it. Despite the laundry machines looking old and not the cleanest, I still needed to do laundry so I tried to put in a load but was told the last load needed to be started by 3:15pm because they lock it up at 5pm so no one else wanders in to do their laundry for free. The washers didn't have a place to put money in so the front desk needed to collect. If they replaced them with commercial machines, they wouldn't need to lock up the room. Overall, we were super disappointed by this place and we ended up leaving an hour later. The lady was nice enough but said we would need to contact corporate to get a refund. We left a message. But will be disputing charges on our
