Someone else cam behind bar & offered me another, after discussion I was made another martini. There was no vermouth which was fine, more vodka please & add olives/juice (much better). I then had a triple of crown next which def was drinking for effect. I'd go back but I understand where I'm going to.

We booked a 2-day guided trip for four to catch redfish. We were disappointed, to say the least…read more We all know how to fish, so were not expecting a lot of help with equipment or baiting hooks. However, having fished charters in Florida, Alaska, and Hawaii, this is the first time we have ever had to compete with our guide to catch fish. Never before have we even been with a guide who actively fished, but instead took care of his guests and kept them on the fish. The Captain stood in the prime angler's spot on the front deck next to the trolling motor - he had a remote, but chose not to use it, for what ever reason. His line was always the first one in the water, and he fished virtually every new area ahead of any of those of us paying for the trip. He did, reluctantly, put his gear aside for a quick reset if one of us asked for help, or to net a fish for us. Otherwise, it was as if he was going fishing, and we just rode out on the boat with him. He never put us in any area where there was a lot of activity; we would fish a non-productive area until we would finally all sit down and wait for him to look for another spot. We did catch some fish, but not much compared to the photos on their website of other groups with their captains on those same dates. Also, he did not dress the flounder properly that we caught, and the restaurant couldn't cook it for us. The second day, we just gave him the fish we did catch; I think he caught about 5 himself, and the rest of us caught about that many. With a paid trip for four, one of us had to sit out since the Captain kept fishing ahead of us. I was offered minimal compensation not to post this review. I told the owner I would not post it if they wanted to refund 1 full day of guided fishing as we had paid for two. They declined, so here it is.

Had to wait out an early morning thunderstorm that delayed us for about an hour. After that Cpt. Dave took us out. The winds were up all day, but he stayed the course and we came back with our dinner, plus. We had to move around a bit to catch em, but we were fishing instead of just casting, which is cool by me. The food was delicious and in no short supply. There were snacks everywhere but I never got to them. We had a full breakfast at 5:30am, sandwiches on the water, a serious Cajun flavored lunch after returning off the water. We visited New Orleans swamp tours in late December 2025 and had a nice time. The weather was 55…read moredegrees but on the boat the wind and water made feel much colder. Bring extra layers, and ear/head protection. The boat was stable and our guide was informative. We saw a few alligators in the water but nothing feeding. Our guide explained that alligators don't feed in the winter and generally stay in mud underwater to stay warm. I shared that I expected to be able to feed the alligators and take them out of the water as I had a on a similar tour many years ago. Our guide explained that this isn't legal and not practiced anymore. The alligators feed in the summer.

There are a few airboat tour companies near New Orleans, but we decided to go with Airboat Adventures due to the price and positive reviews online. I booked the tour online through their website. If you want something more private, go witha smaller airboat, which is a bit more expensive than the large airboat. But because we're chickens, we decided to go with the larger airboat that held more people. The tour offers transportation to their location by bus for an extra fee, but we decided to drive our own car since they provided on-site parking. I do recommend driving your own car, because the drive was absolutely scenic. A lot of green and we got to see all the beautiful houses built on stilts on the way. Not to mention, it's about a 30 min drive from New Orleans. When we arrived, there were plenty of parking. They also had bathrooms inside and on the exterior of their store, which were very clean! Inside the store, you can check out a live albino alligator and take photos while you wait. You can also wait outside on the dock -- plenty of seating and you can grab a drink at the bar. The tour was amazing and so was our tour guide. The weather was nice, we saw a lot of gators sunbathing a bald eagle, and its nest. It was more than what I expected! Everyone in my party had a great time and more memories were made! Side note: Airboats are very loud so make sure you keep the headphones on!
