I chose this swamp tour in New Orleans based off a groupon I purchased for $51 pp. from gray lines tour. We scheduled a 12:45 tour. We arrived to pick up tickets around 12:40. We stood in line briefly to pick up our tickets and was then directed to the bus. The bus departed the depot exactly at 1pm. The driver was very engaging. He explained the tour in detail. He informed us it would take 30 minutes to be to the boat location. He played us a 30 minutes narrated video about New Orleans. The bus was very comfortable. The bus drive gave us clear instructions on what to do upon arriving. We went in and got our colored wrist bands. The color was based on the tour you signed up for. I signed up for the swamp and bayou tour. We departed at 2 pm. The boat we were on seated numerous people and was covered. This is important because it rained a bit while we were out. Our tour guide was amazing. He provided us with NO history as we floated down the bayou. He told us about the trees, the cemetery, Levy's, filming done there, etc. We got to see so many alligators. We got to move around the boat and get video and pics. It was amazing. He fed the alligators marshmallows that they loved. We got to hold and take pics with a baby alligator. Overall, we had an amazing experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Groupon offers. A lot of different swamp tours. This was is a little more expensive but definitely worth it for 2

The boat ride through the marsh felt exciting--almost like drifting quickly over water while still being smooth and safe. We were able to get up close to alligators, which was an unforgettable experience. Beyond the scenery, the guide shared interesting insights about wetland conservation, the preservation of Louisiana's coastline, and local history and culture, which added real depth to the tour. Overall, this is a fun and engaging activity that's suitable for the whole family. Highly recommended.

We booked transportation through them as well, which ran $72. For comparison, I checked Uber pricing and it was about $65 one way, and there were plenty of Ubers available near the tour location. The staff was friendly and easy to work with from the start. I ended up needing to change our date, and they were very accommodating, which I appreciated. Once we arrived at their headquarters, the place was clean, well kept, and had a true "bayou" feel to it. One interesting thing, they actually own the swamp land, so you're essentially touring their backyard... with alligators included. We were assigned Captain Matt, and he made the experience. You could tell he genuinely cares about the wildlife and the ecosystem, which added a lot to the tour. It wasn't just a ride, it felt informative and authentic. The tour lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes. We chose to sit in the front, which meant getting a little wet, but the views were absolutely worth it, especially when the captain started interacting with the gators. Overall, this was money well spent. We had a great time and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans.

I didn't get to wrestle a gator but that's ok cause we had so much fun! Anyway, you can't visit…read moreNawlins without venturing to the bayou to see the gators! There are a few airboat tour companies near New Orleans, but we decided to go with Airboat Adventures due to the price and positive reviews online. I booked the tour online through their website. If you want something more private, go witha smaller airboat, which is a bit more expensive than the large airboat. But because we're chickens, we decided to go with the larger airboat that held more people. The tour offers transportation to their location by bus for an extra fee, but we decided to drive our own car since they provided on-site parking. I do recommend driving your own car, because the drive was absolutely scenic. A lot of green and we got to see all the beautiful houses built on stilts on the way. Not to mention, it's about a 30 min drive from New Orleans. When we arrived, there were plenty of parking. They also had bathrooms inside and on the exterior of their store, which were very clean! Inside the store, you can check out a live albino alligator and take photos while you wait. You can also wait outside on the dock -- plenty of seating and you can grab a drink at the bar. The tour was amazing and so was our tour guide. The weather was nice, we saw a lot of gators sunbathing a bald eagle, and its nest. It was more than what I expected! Everyone in my party had a great time and more memories were made! Side note: Airboats are very loud so make sure you keep the headphones on!

We did the 10 AM tour with hotel pick-up and drop-off, which I booked about five months in advance…read more About five minutes before pick-up, I got a call and text from the company saying the shuttle was overbooked and they'd be sending an Uber instead, at their cost. They handled it quickly, but it did make me a little uncomfortable not having the usual safety and tracking features you get when booking a rideshare yourself. With that much notice, I was a bit disappointed they hadn't better planned for hotel pick-ups. Once we arrived (with about five minutes to spare), everything turned around. Our guide, Steven, was fantastic -- you could tell he grew up in the area and genuinely cared about the wildlife and the swamp. He shared so many interesting facts about the habitat, trees, and animals that I never knew before. We did the 6-person airboat and it was awesome! Some people might find the wind a little cool, but I thought it was refreshing -- sun on your face, wind in your hair, and gorgeous views all around. We saw alligators and raccoons, and the old trees in the area were incredible. I had read that you might get wet or muddy, but we didn't have any issues. I'd still recommend closed-toe shoes, just in case. We brought rain jackets and water-resistant clothes, but it wasn't really needed since it didn't rain. Boarding and getting off the boat was from a deck, so no mud at all. Overall, the tour was absolutely worth it -- great price, great experience, and an amazing guide. Despite the hiccup with the pick-up, I'd definitely recommend this tour!
