I haven't had a snowball in a very long time. Pelicans doesn't disappoint with having over 100 choices of flavors and variety's to chose from. It was as I expected and hoped. Good, kids would love it, adults would enjoy it. The beat up play area is loved by kids too. All in all I wasn't blown away but will a snowball ever blow you away....YES! my boyfriend and I I've already gone like three times this week and each time I order extra sour spray. I don't know if these kids don't care, but they will either add like none or they'll only spray the top, but they'll make sure that they charge me my extra I guess these kids don't give a crap. PS I originally didn't even order extra sour spray. On this super hot day in Jack sonville, I brought my puppy Shadow to get him and I some snoballs ! He loveeeeddddd his peanutbutter flavored snoball. Okay Jacksonville! If you're trying to entertain your children on a budget this is the place to go. So many flavors to choose from at a reasonable price. They have a sitting area outside with toys for the kids to play with. Although these toys look a little neglected lol! Kids were still playing with it. I guess it's a play at your own risk kinda thing. With the weather warming out though, this place is a good place to stop by for a cold treat. read more

I tried their product at an event for the city a few months ago, and finally made it over to the actual business and there wasn't a huge line (usually a good sign that they have a good product if people are willing to wait a long time). With over 100 flavors you find yourself a bit overwhelmed with what to try. So I turned to my 4 year old to ask his opinion, he of course tells me that I can get whatever I want... LOL. I went with the root beer float, the mix ice cream in with the snocone.... didn't even know that was a thing...and it was very good. My son got his favorite the shark bite, which is like 2 fruity flavors and gummy sharks on top....that's the only part he really cares about. Overall a wonderful experience, the staff is very helpful if you are stuck with what to try with making recommendations. The play area is the only ehhh part, a lot of the equipment is old and worn out and it's on top of a very unforgiving concert slab that used to be an old cheeseburger joint. read more

I was first introduced to Pelican's when I was in Charleston, SC, for work. I was never into snowballs, but my business associate swore by this place. Said she and her girlfriend would go there every couple of days and that I had to try it out. I loved it so much that I was sad when I had to go home. Good thing there's a few in North Carolina! This one is a short walk from the Ark. Can you imagine eating some greasy hushpuppies and running off to Pelican's to get a delicious snowball? It's the dream. Now, you can't really mess up a snowball - it's shaved ice and flavoring. So far, all the Pelican's I've been to have been the same. My go-to is a regular with passion fruit and taramind and a spray of sour stuff. The people working are very nice and very generous when it comes to the snowballs. I just wish they would put the shark gummies inside the ice, not on top. It gets weird. read more

Heaven in Jacksonville! This place is amazing. They have so many flavors and best of all, they had my favorite Pink Bubble gum!!! Mmmmm! Their prices are great and they have nice employees. My kids love the fenced in play area that's great for all ages. So glad they were open on this past weekend. First time I've seen them open since i mover here. This was my first time visiting this location. My only other experience with a Pelican location has been in my hometown and always enjoyed my purchases and interactions with employees at that location. I pulled up at about twenty minutes until closing time and the Open sign was turned off. I walked up as I knew they weren't supposed to close until 9 pm and was greeted by two young women, neither of whom was wearing a mask or gloves and were fiddling around with their phones. I know they were probably bored and ready to head home, but it was pretty disconcerting to not see any attempt at wearing masks, especially when masks are being required for the time being in public settings. I will not be heading back any time soon. read more

This place reminds me so much of a place called island snow in Hawaii that I loved. Pelicans has so many different flavors to choose from. I loved it. The only complaint I have but is unavoidable is the yellow jackets are really bad. read more

The snowballs are very good! I had a watermelon one and they added the cream to it even though I didn't ask for it but it was still good.
