    My $5 treat
    Sarah G.

Haven't been to a Pelican's Snoballs in like 4 years. Was excited to know there was one here in Wilmington. They have an awesome variety of regular flavors and a handful of sugar free ones. But man! The cost has gone WAY UP since our last visit. For the "regular" which is basically a small... $5. For ice and flavored syrup. (Gulp). The girl working was super nice and ever replaced the top of our snoball after it fell on the ground. (Thank you!). Unfortunately, the cost would deter me from bringing my family here. Even if we all got regular, it'd be nearly $27 for ice. Have them 3 star because it's a yummy treat but way overpriced.

Pelican's Snoballs is a family favorite any time we are craving an icy cold treat. No matter the location, it is our go to ecause of the variety of flavors, the quality, and the great taste! It's the consistency also because we know that we are going to enjoy it and can customize to our liking. I love anything tropical so give me any of the fruity with Pina colada flavors. My kid is the same, she often gets coconut and mixes it. My hubby he is the wild card..he tries to get the most uncommon pairing just to show us that no matter what you get, it is still gonna be good. He hasn't tried the dill pickle flavor yet but if that's your thing, it is on the menu. There is truly a flavor for everyone!

Pelican's is a must-try when visiting Wilmington from out of town. They have over 100 flavors to choose from - we got cantaloupe and polar punch, both with condensed milk on top - so good and not overwhelmingly sweet. Service was quick and kind when helping us decide what to get. My only regret is not trying more add ons or ice cream! It's also lovely to be able to sit outside by the fun colorful storefront while eating. We will be adding this to our trip itinerary next year!

My son attends UNCW and my entire family drives down from Jersey every summer to help him settle in and stay for a week. It is our favorite thing to do and a perfect way to end the summer. With that said, all of my children absolutely love Pelican Snowballs. We have to go there everyday while we are in Wilmington. Sometimes twice a day to their different locations. Their goal(s) are to try every single flavor. It is definitely worth a try.

Games for kids also includes checkers.

They have something like 100 flavors but the one not listed is Peanut Butter. It's available though, if you want it. Most people order it for their dogs. Be careful when indulging because you may end up with a case of brain freeze. The ice is really tiny so I'm not sure if it's shaved multiple times or what. There is bean-bag toss game around the corner where people can sit and enjoy their frozen treats.

I have been coming here for years. The staff are super friendly and always fast. If you don't know what you want they'll surprise you with something yummy.

Awesome snowball! over 100 flavor combinations to choose from. The man who rang us up was super friendly and helped us make our decisions. We played a game of checkers and enjoyed our snoballs. We are both looking forward to a second trip! The hard part will be picking the next flavor.

Not too sweet and so many flavors to choose from! This location is clean with plenty of seating in the shade. The pricing is fair and service is friendly. What's not to love?

Its ok to eat the yellow snow! Lol

Awesome, always. Flavors all the way thru and worth every penny! Except adding whipped cream. That just ends weirdly.

** I would like to note ahead of time I have been going to pho cafe for YEARS and have raved about…read moreit to all my friends and family. It's been my #1 pho spot in all of wilmington- so I am GREATLY disappointed and feel robbed** I called ahead to place an order for beef pho ( which they prep batches 8 hours ahead of time, AKA premade, not yes distributed) and bánh mì. After giving payment over the phone I realized I needed to call back to request no cilantro (or basil) due to concern for the nationwide outbreak of Cyclospora (if you haven't heard of this, please look it up and be cautious/ aware). This is a parasite linked to cilantro, basil, and bagged salads causing severe illness such as diarrhea and vomiting across the nation, starting on May 1st, 2026. So I called the restaurant back to request the accommodation, they proceeded to tell me that they "do not do accommodations or alterations". I explained to them that if they could not accommodate me, I would like a refund for my order because I no longer want the food due to not wanting to risk it (this food was going to be dropped off to my pregnant sister, moreso reason to not want to risk it!!). They responded and said they neither cannot accommodate a refund or my SIMPLE ask to remove cilantro and basil. I told them I would reach out to my bank if they cannot proceed with proper customer service and they basically hung up on me. I walked into the establishment and told them in person why I wanted the refund and informed them of the nationwide outbreak.. the woman (owner) told me that their distributor (Sysco) would give them a heads up if their cilantro was contaminated. I looked it up, and CDC has not yet been able to identify specific suppliers YET (so obviously Sysco is still a POSSIBILITY, again, that I don't want to risk). I informed the owner of my research findings and she proceeded to refuse a refund, stating "making accommodations is inconvenient and we would lose profit if we were to refund you" , even though I did not take food home with me because I no longer wanted it. Owners argued the food was already made, which I argued back that the broth is prepped HOURS ahead of time and their veggies are pre bagged, so nothing was cooked on the spot for me that wasn't already prepped. I told them being denied my refund is basically stealing my money since I am not taking food home and I continued to press for a refund. They told me they were going to call the police and asked me to leave. I got in my car and waited and called the non emergency police department to get advice on the situation. The police department told me to contact 'The Better Business Bureau East Coast ' as it was not a lawful situation. I re-entered the establishment and told them I'd be doing so as well as leaving a Facebook review. At the end of the day, I will be contacting my bank for a refund due to being DENIED one by the business. However, I do want to put it out there that Pho Cafe has HORRIBLE customer service, I am absolutely appalled. Yes, I agreed to payment, but once found out accomations could not be made, I requested a refund almost within two minutes of my order. I am human, I sometimes think to ask for accommodations after the fact. However, that does not give right for an establishment to refuse proper customer service and any flexibility to refund or even give a credit for once the outbreak is cleared if they CHOOSE to only serve their meals with cilantro and basil and CHOOSE not to accommodate other preferences. Have a nice day everyone, Pho Cafe lost AT LEAST ONE customer today. What a shame.

I asked a lot of questions and the lady spent a lot of time with me. I ended up choosing the Kalbi with Hawaiian Cole slaw and macaroni salad. The portion size was big enough for three meals. I loved nori of the salads and the meat was good, too. The decor makes you heel like you are connected with Hawaii. The two locations, Hampstead and Hawaii- really cool. I really liked it there.

I liked everything except the smoothie. I don't know if it was the lilikoi or POG or both, but it had a strong artificial sweetener flavor for my taste. The Malasada was essentially a yeast doughnut with sugar sprinkled on top. The Macapuno waffle was soft, very sweet, and had a starchy like texture from the Ube. It was a little hard to eat since it would get crumbly when I tried to eat it with my fork. Served with dried toasted coconut flakes and lots of coconut whipped cream. Loco Moco was delicious. Gravy was already on the rice and not on the meat. Would be better if they gave extra gravy so I'll have to ask for that next time! They asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. I asked for medium, but it was cooked a little bit more than medium. Eggs were seasoned with nori komi furikake (Shirakiku brand/dried seaweed, black-and-white sesame seeds)- love! Ube hush puppies were the bomb. Crispy and sweet. Definitely worth a visit!
