I called 3 other vets within 5 miles of me and they all were the same "sorry, we don't have any openings for new dogs for another 2 weeks." UGH!!!!! But Brambleton Vet said "we can squeeze him in today!" THANK YOU! When we arrived the reception area was clear, clean and the vet tech was understanding when my Dane was super nervous. She walked us to a room and was totaled patient with my dog. I was so worried that he would be stressed out even more when the Doctor came, but Dr. Sisk was so patient and great at handling my nervous fur baby. I am happy to report that my dog is on the mend and they were so accommodating in every way. We moved to the area about a year ago and honestly, I had put my dog's vaccinations on pause because every time I had called a vet in the area, they were 2-3 weeks out at best. Once I had called for an emergency because my dogs tongue had split and this other vet (and 3 others) STILL said they couldn't get him in for another 3 weeks! If you are new to the area give them a try! Tell them Sole (so-lay) the Great Dane sent you!

While…read moreother vets diagnosed her and ruled out other things (like cancer), nobody had a treatment plan for her, only acute, reactionary procedures. Dr. Quatmann was highly recommend to me by *three* different friends, so I was curious to see if a holistic vet could help me. I'll be honest- I didn't know what to expect. I saw Chinese medicine and acupressure on the website and wondered if I was gonna be taken for a ride. But my experience with Dr. Quatmann was hands-down the best vet experience I've had, with any animal, in 41 years. She started by sitting on the floor on the opposite side of the room from my stressed-out pup, talking to me about her symptoms and taking notes, letting my dog go at her own pace. When she conducted a physical exam, she had me hand my dog over, back end first, so that it didn't look like she was looming (brilliant!) and although my pup was nervous at first, she eventually relaxed into Dr. Quatmann's capable hands. At every step of the way, Dr. Quatmann told me what she was doing and why. She told me what she liked and didn't like about Chinese medicine and Western medicine approaches, and was approachable, intelligent, and kind despite me struggling to keep up. Toward the end, she let my dog "shop" by picking up whatever supplements she felt drawn to (all at 'sniff level'). My dog really got into it! I've never seen her engaged in her environment like that, and it was delightful. In the end, we went with one supplement (wanting to address each symptom individually), which my dog loves taking (truly...she thinks it's a treat). I've already seen improvement! Overall, this was a great experience and I highly recommend this vet practice (though be careful with the parking lot, which is a bit tight).

Wally got sick over the weekend and had to see the emergency vet in Roanoke on Saturday. He seemed to have a UTI for which he was given an antibiotic. Today, Monday, he became extremely sick with both vomiting and diarrhea. When I called his vet they refused see him or even give me advice. They told me to call the emergency vet back. His doctor's refused him when he was extremely sick. If it'd been anything non emergency I would certainly have understood. We will never go back.

Husband and I have had 7 ... yes, seven! ... outside kittens "fixed" and vaccinated here. We declined some of the services offered (because again, seven!) ... and I never felt like I was being judged or discounted because I didn't opt for flea control, etc. ... So ... I never hesitated to schedule the neutering appointment for our new puppy ... (puppy is 67 pounds at 7 months, and absolutely perfect!) (and, yes, he's a rescue! no pet store, designer dog, purchased animal in this house) ... We opted for some of the extras ... microchip, flea abatement and control (Bravecto) ... everything ... and we were still treated the same! We were treated politely, with courtesy and respect ... with a little bit of recognition and playfullness thrown in for good measure!
