The shopping center has plenty of free parking too so that is always a good thing! This studio has chairs rather than stools that have been the seating at the other Wine and Design studios I have gone. The back support was nice and I like having the chairs. I went for an open studio and didn't take an official class so didn't see the new technology in use here but the tv screen makes me think that will show what the artist is doing on the canvas. Another difference here is that they sell sodas and waters if you'd like them and didn't bring your own. There was an area to put any food you brought too. If you were having a party, the counter would work for putting the gifts too. If you are looking for somewhere to explore your creative side, check out the variety of painting and craft classes offered at Wine & Design.

I'm so glad I found this place because I was stressing about my kids dying of boredom waiting in the station. It's directly upstairs, and we had a lovely time. Our instructor was great, especially with non-artitsts such as us. She took her time, was very detailed in her instruction, came around to give everyone help if they needed it. She said usually she had help but that night was on her own, but was still able to complete the painting and attend to anyone who needed assistance. It was the perfect way to kill a couple of hours before our train. Unfortunately they don't sell wine there, but you're more than welcome to bring your own, which I did; of course.

I used to stop by Mills Outlet all the time and always loved the experience. It's been a few years…read moresince my last visit, so I decided to make time to visit today. I've always enjoyed walking the fabric aisles to admire the vibrant colors and unique upholstery designs. They usually have great remnants at good prices, but today, I have to say, I was very disappointed--and this will likely be my last visit. While browsing the precut remnants, I noticed an employee staring at me. I moved to another section of the table, but the same employee "coincidentally" hovered near me again. I ignored it and kept looking, determined to find a piece for a special project I had in mind. As soon as I found something I liked, I turned around to see her standing nearby, pivoted toward me, and she commented, "I see you found something." After a long day at work, I was simply looking for a quick, creative outlet to pick up some fabric for my design project. Instead, I felt scrutinized and uncomfortable. As an avid fabric purchaser who regularly shops in fabric stores from Raleigh to High Point and NYC, this was a disheartening experience. Most stores I frequent are welcoming and allow me to browse freely without unnecessary oversight. Mills Outlet, please do better. Your customers come to you for inspiration, not judgment. You never who could be shopping in your store.
