I owned a treadmill that I bought from a big box sporting goods store, so I thought I was familiar with the options and sales approach. My assumptions were wrong. At Johnson the focus is on service and product knowledge. The sales person knew the products and was able to explain the various pros and cons without seeming pushy or too explainy (if that is a word). Their products and prices cater to those willing to spend significantly more than one would pay at a big box. However, the quality is leaps and bounds over those products too. Delivery, setup, and take away of the old machine was about $350 on top of the sales price. I feel the process and overall experience was excellent. Although the prices are higher than other places, it may be a case of you pay for what you get. Definitely would recommend Johnson's to people in my circle.

Steve had me test all of the brands I was considering - thank goodness he gave me water and a seat in a massage chair in between my test runs - and gave me quotes on the two models I narrowed down to, in my quest for the right elliptical. I returned a month later after doing more research and testing of equipment and chose the model I felt the most comfortable on. Buying it was a breeze! I called Steve to inform him that I was coming back out there to buy it ....by the time I got there, the paperwork was done and I just signed in the dotted line! It took longer for me to drive there than it did for me to buy it ha! So, the elliptical arrived and the gentlemen who assembled it were professional and quick! They were done assembling it within 15 mins! I immediately started my exercise regimen and haven't stopped yet. I love my new elliptical - suspension trainer! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Johnson Wellness and Steve when looking for any type of exercise equipment. I almost forgot! I had some trouble locating the numbers on the machine to input in the registration process. I called the store and spoke with Andrew who was just as nice and professional as Steve! The machine Precor machine was used, which reduced the price by over 50 percent. Chip refurbished it, and excepting a few minor "chips" of paint missing, it is in great condition. I knew I wanted this particular machine because I had used it elsewhere. As I said commenting on the leg press machine, when buying new equipment, what's important is the manufacturer because if there's a warranty issue the manufacturer stands behind it. But when buying used equipment, the character of the sales person is of the utmost importance because that person's word is really the only recourse if there's a problem. I have found Chip to be honest in describing the equipment, answering our questions fully. He never tries to upsell. The equipment he sells is in excellent condition. The delivery and assembly went smoothly (with no damage) despite having to go down a flight of stairs and making a sharp turn at the bottom. He spent ample time showing me some exercises to do on the machine. In sum, I highly recommend doing business with Chip for fitness equipment.

They were sloppy and made me wish I'd assembled it myself, although I was glad I didn't have to carry it upstairs! After assembly they tested it, and it made a bad noise from the left-side drive. To alleviate the noise, the installer tried jamming a phillips head screwdriver around the cover plate creating scratches and gouges in the plastic. On closer inspection, you can see it wasn't made correctly. I am going to expect them to replace the base unit rather than manufacturing mistake and installer-created cosmetic damage in my bedroom. Delivery and installation were a fail. Now I will find out about support. I will update the review once I have a usable machine.

The base weld cracked after 6 months and the retaining pin blew out of it throwing me into the screen. Nordictrack is a terrible company to deal with. In fact just getting a hold of someone is a chore all by it's self. Contacted the manager he made one call for me but basically was little to no help. I live locally and this experience was so bad I will never return to this fitness store again. In fact I have told my family, friends and co-workers about this incident. If you own and business and sell brand name equipment you should back your customers and stop washing your hands of the bad products your selling from your business. That's the bottom line.
