We had an unfortunate experience with Peluso Movers for a long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey. The only reason we are not giving the 1-star is due to the fact that at least everything made it here, but not necessarily in one piece. Our issue started with 3 days before our move that was planned 3 months in advance with their staff. We received a call asking us to change our move date when we had made plans all focused around the move date that they gave us. They instead came and picked everything up a day earlier than planned (which we agreed to) and instead stuck it all in a warehouse for several days waiting for a driver. They did not provide any status updates and when we called from the road, they passed the buck off to the driver again. When everything arrived, the movers were unable to get our bed up the stairs (we had specifically asked our Peluso mover staff member if it would fit and he had assured us it would). We had to call another moving company to actually get our bed where we wanted it. We have asked Peluso for some kind of restitution for this additional cost and they have ignored us. Boxes that we asked if they were packed properly arrived mangled and some items were damaged. Again, no restitution. If you are moving to/from Naples, FL, we recommend you go with anyone but Peluso Movers. I am removing a star for the response by the owner of Peluso Movers. They refuse to take responsibility for throwing our "packed by owner" boxes (nothing was broken inside of them so clearly they were packed properly) being thrown around given that the pictures speak for themselves. They are not taken any responsibility for the bed issue and requests for discussion with their staff have gone unanswered. Over priced and don't deliver with quality movers. Our guys were clueless and were being told what to do by one older gentleman who didn't lift a finger. My mother had to move from a large apartment to a two room assisted living apartment. As she is 96 I handled the moving arrangements from 1500 miles away. Her furniture was to be separated into four categories: items to go with her and items to go to three other locations (her grandchildren) in the US. We photographed and labeled everything and tried to provide clear lists of what was to go where. I was imagining all sorts of mistakes and headaches. Well, the move went perfectly. Nothing was lost, nothing was broken and nothing went to the wrong address. All on time and with no added charges. I had many communications with the staff, all of which were easy and prompt. My sister received one of the deliveries and she was impressed by the professionalism of the men. They loaded her shipment into her rental truck without hesitation and even refused a tip. Peluso handled our interstate move and 30 days of furniture storage. From the initial meetings with Jeff through the final delivery and set up, they exceeded expectations. The staff was polite, punctual, and communicated well through all aspects of the job. Our belongings were handled with care all along the way; both loading and unloading crews were diligent and hard working. Most significantly, our furniture was due to ship out of the warehouse as Hurricane Irma was inbound. I should have written this a year ago but things were hectic in my home. For starters, I heard about Peluso Movers through another small mover from NY. I originally wanted him to do my move but he could not accommodate on the dates. He said, " occassionally I cross with Peluso Movers out of Naples, and the way their crew functions, I think they are impressive.) So, I called Peluso Movers and spoke with Jeff Flowers. My move was from Sarasota to Mclean, Virginia. I hired them for packing and moving. Outstanding! Really!!! I have had many moves in my life from oversees, international and domestic. The companies that I have used were always top movers, larger firms especially in my international moves. I have experience. Moving, in itself, is disruptive and stressful; therefore, I appreciate when the moving company is legitimate, sensitive, punctual, fair priced, and honest. All of this was my experience with Peluso. Their packers were very good, careful, and respectful. The cross over to a mover who brought my load into Virginia was selected by Peluso and he was very good, careful moving it in my home, and respectful. His name was Leon. Jeff Flowers, who was my coordinator and lead contact was super terrific. He made everything easy and he was responsive and always returned calls and follow up. You have to be very careful who you hire these days because many cheap conpanies or cheap prices, you might never see your belongings again....................I have heard many sad stories. Peluso Movers, the office staff, the coordinator, the packers, the movers yada yada were really all, yes all wonderful. They are a first class moving and storage company and don't even think twice. If they are available in your area, don't hesitate. They made my move one of the easiest experiences in moving that I have ever had! Love them all! The movers were very kind and courteous men. From the salesman who gave us a quote to the movers. This goes without saying. We met the movers to pack us up then we headed out on a flight. We had someone lock the home and check it before they left and they broke off the door knob on the front door and it would not have been attended to if we didn't have someone check for damage. That was the only problem in Florida, so they get kudos. The problem is when the furniture arrived home, every piece was either scraped, with what looked like black tire marks or chipped. We never received lamps or glass covers to our furniture. EVERY PIECE WAS destroyed in some way. The shipment came in two deliveries. When the second shipment arrived about 10 days later (which was fine with us), it was filthy dirty BLACK deep greesy dust on my white wood. I took impeccable care of my furniture while I was in FL (vacation home), only to have it partially delivered or delivered destroyed. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF YOUR FURNITURE AT ALL. The warehouse where they store it, must be filthy dirty because even with coverings it was ruined. IF YOU WANT IT DESTROYED AND SCRAPED OR LOST, use them. HORRIBLE! read more

We used this company after good friends recommended it highly. The estimator was prompt, professional, and most courteous. The packers were courteous and although we understood that they would be packing from room to room, I'm not sure just when they decided to pack however they wanted. Our belongings were in storage for three months. Not sure who or how they ran their warehouse as just about every piece of furniture I own was scratched, scraped, nicked, and my dresser actually had one of its legs broken off and they attempted to cover it up by actually screwing a broken leg using wallboard screws through the veneer on the side of the dresser, negating the possibility of replacing the broken leg! My bookcases sustained damage, one of them actually had the back reattached using duct tape, and slices of veneer that somehow were 'sliced' off glued in place. We are beyond appalled. To boot, now that we are putting out our nick knacks, we are missing a whole box of personal photos, including my husband's father's clarinet which goes back to World War 1. Their long distance coordinator actually told me she was not sure what to do about this and needed box numbers! They packed den items in with bedroom items in with garage items, which again negates any decisive number coordination. Never seen such a mess. We did file a claim and are still waiting to hear about it. We would never recommend this company to anyone at all. read more
