In addition, my daughter has major medical needs, and they closely worked with us to find ways that she could still participate despite some restrictions. The materials they have displayed are few. Many of the items are from the later part of the time period that the schoolhouse served. The interpretive items are interesting but the materials associated with them are very short or non-existent. There didn't seem to be too many programs associated with the schoolhouse either. I had waited some time to be able to get into the venue because the hours are limited. I was rather disappointed by the offering and I will visit again in the future to see what has been added and changed. The area has a very rich historical perspective to draw from and I hope to see more that incorporated in the future.

It is small, so we expected to spend 15-20 minutes tops, but it was very interesting, we spent close to an hour there! The volunteer was very welcoming, explaining the history and exhibits to us, even letting my little ones ring the old school bell, which they really enjoyed. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. The exhibits change every few months to my understanding, so we'll definitely be back!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT vending for Uncle Sam Jam in Woodhaven. #1) All communications were done via phone calls, no paper trail of promises. (Learned my lesson THERE!!) #2) Promised me a "fairway" placement because my product is "too cool for the crafters area". I would have NEVER paid $1k dollars for a one weekend CRAFT show. I believed I was paying for a premium placement at a MUSIC festival. I reiterated my spot may be wrong during setup, but was reassured that WAS the fairway. It was not. It was the entrance to the carnival, 95 percent of guests power-walked right past us. This "fairway" was behind the stage and not visible from there, with NO SIGNAGE or promotions on their sites stating vendors were involved . #3) took ZERO consideration of booth placements, placed three jewelers next to each other, two candy vendors next to each other, BUSKERS who distracted and scared away guests right in the middle of us. The poor handmade BBQ sauce booth was placed with FOOD TRUCKS and has sold a big ol $300 by SUNDAY NIGHT. (Day FOUR) #4) Any feedback I've given to the organizers has fallen on deaf ears, only stating they did INDEED place me on the fairway as promised. States it's probably not my demographic, (guitar string jewelry at a music festival?, Ok!) Had they charged a FAIR PRICE for their booths, I would have made enough profit to pay for another show. However I only made my money back on costs of goods sold. Now I get to rebuild all my merchandise for free. They are refusing a partial or full refund. I DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR. No wonder all the vendors we met were first timers like us, they probably don't get many return vendors treating them like THAT. I will NOT return to Uncle Sam Jam.
