I was in the process of buying a car from Carvana, and they were making my life extremely difficult by refusing my financing check from Penfed due to my last name needing a hyphenated 2nd last name (which i never use and has never been an issue) and would not budge. I met with Rae the branch manager, and she corrected the issue, having to battle through antiquated systems to get the name updated, the loan/offer reissued, and a check reprinted in the same morning. I greatly appreciated the time she spent to make sure the corrections were expedited and allow me to continue with the car purchase. Got my wheels now and I'm happy. read more

I was put on permanent disability and asked that my payments be lowered so that I could afford them since my income was drastically reduced! They said no! I cannot believe they would state I could maintain my payments for even after having to move back home with parents due to medical issues! Tried getting a medallion signature guarantee stamp on some legal documents relating to a sizeable account I had at PENFED. It was a nightmare experience, as I got conflicting and incorrect info on their requirements for this. Ultimately spoke with a rep at the West Point, NY branch, who promised to help but then was unreachable and refused to return my several calls. I gave up after a couple of weeks and want to another credit union who was clear about their requirements and accommodated me in just a few hours. My service rep was very helpful, but the good news ends there. Going through the underwriting process was difficult because their website is not intuitive to use. Even when I upload required documents, the underwriter does not see it until I call her. This was a pain. After getting the mortgage, what I hated most was constant bombardment of mortgage insurance. They send out countless fliers that are deceptive. It just says this is urgent and important time sensitive information from your lender, please call us, without telling why. It's to sell insurance. My other mortgage company does not do that. After I hang up realizing the sales, I get nonstop calls back saying they're returning my call because I was interested insurance. I never was. I simply returned a message that said urgent. Completely annoying. Stay away. Their rates are average. Not worth the headache and hassle. I've had a much better experience with my previous lender. read more

I came to deposit a check, walked in, and no one was behind the counter or in the offices. Not 1 person. I waited for 20 minutes and had to leave. I can't believe this can even happen at any business, let alone a bank. I'm honesty baffled. read more

let me start by saying that my loan was only made possible by the relentless efforts of Ms Rae Wilson she never gave up on me and was able to get my loan in a timely manner, I was approved but my check wasn't able to be printed due to a glitch in the system and Ms Wilson was very informative and pursued my Loan for days and was so honest, definitely the Rock of this branch in East Windsor, now I have my car n I'm totally satisfied with this branch and will do more business with them in the future read more

Well this bank tops the charts for the worst customer service I have ever received in my life.. one star does cover it.. waited about a month for a replacement debit card as I watch my cash sit in a bank I can't access.. there should be laws against this.. if you are considering using this business you should reconsider. read more

People who think this is a "Good Credit Union" Clearly have never been with a good credit union. They literally charge a $3 fee every month to pay your auto loan and that's not the interest, the fee is to just give them money from your checking, biggest scam ever. I used to believe in this organization after being a loyal member for 6+ years, even after moving 3000 miles away, when I could have easily went with another banking entity. It was only today that the representative was unwilling to assist and laughed at the fact that I requested to remain on hold due to my situation that required a managers assistance. I can assure you, if my issue isn't handled, I will be seeking another entity to service my banking needs. Horrible unprofessional customer service. I had made a request to skip a pay in December looking for a little holiday extra money. Sounds like a great program right? The deduction of $75 took days and then it my account literally hours before my bi-weekly check credited and an overdraft occurred. My bad but I figured they could just reapply it. I called them immediately and asked them to reapply the charge. The woman on the other line said no problem it will be all set. A week later nothing out of my account. Called again and was told sorry they had forgot to do it! I was told it would be taken care of immediately. Four days later still nothing. I called again and was told there was no record of any interaction! When I told them the name of the person I had dealt with (thus verifying that I had called them on their BS), they came back and said sorry could you please give us your routing number and account number and it would be done that day. Two days later still nothing! I emailed them on their contact email and received an email that stated that due to the high volume of requests it had not been processed but should be processed in the next couple days. Still nothing! Three weeks after my original request I call again and was told that the payment will be processed but since my November auto payment was not made yet that I was delinquent and they could not process the request. While they are telling me this I have my bank account showing that the payment had come out of my bank three days prior!!! The person on the other line keeps reiterating the same thing about my account being delinquent. I tell her I can send her a copy of my bank statement and or screen shot to her that the payment was made days ago. She continues to reiterate that my account is delinquent. I then lose my shit and ask them if they are using pack mules to move my money to their bank etc... She hangs up on me. So yes avoid at all costs. I am looking immediately to see if I can find another bank to service my loan. It's not so much the payment not being processed. It is the lie after lie after lie that really chaps my ass. I have never been told so much BS in such a short time. Its incredible! read more

WORST experience in my life! DO NOT use this credit union to lease your car or for that matter anything else! The payments are due the 26 of every month but they do not tell you as your bills arrive late to your home and the website is not updated and does not include your account or balance... Late fees are incredible and the when you call there are no clear answers! read more

I wast trying to pay off my daughters car loan and it was a painful experience. It took two different days of pay offs due to limits as to what you can pay off in a day, and I had to wait one day in between the two transactions. Now I have to wait almost a month to get the title back. I had all the information etc. It shouldn't be that hard to pay off someones loan. I was asked a million questions, had to have my daughter call in to "ok" the transaction...who isn't going to give permission to have their loan paid off? In this day and age of technology, this should have been a breeze and a nice surprise for my kid...but, yet it was a long drawn-out ordeal. read more

I believe in credit unions and so I refinanced my mortgage with McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union. Though the teller and the customer service rep in Manhattan were good, the management in customer service is NOT PROFESSIONAL. In addition, they have some unusual practices for a credit union. To pay your mortgage, they "offer" a grace period of 15 days and then the mortgagee has to pay a penalty fee for being late and this late payment becomes part of your credit rating.(I have a superb credit rating) However, when I utilized the grace period, I received "robo" calls at home indicating an overdue mortgage. I continued to pay my mortgage before the grace period ended. I complained in mid- September about the calls. The customer service manager said that they would "try" to cut the calls off--but no guarantees. On November 14th, I received a "live" call at my job. The caller indicated that they were calling on behalf of McGraw-Hill, and "when was I going to make a payment"? I was NOT OVER the grace period and never gave the credit union permission to call me at home or work. My recommendation is-- find a better credit union. If you still decide to go with McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union, NEVER give them your business phone. Consider providing a cell phone number. Check the math on any refinancing of your mortgage. My lawyer had to call off the first closing because their numbers were not accurate. Again, there is a lack of professionalism. TS read more

Worst decision I have ever made was refinancing my car through this Credit Union. They will make you all the promises of saving money and rush you to sign all this paperwork and in the end you'll be spending more in car insurance then you were before and they will approve you even though you weren't fully qualified because they want to take your money. I wish I never refinanced through this Shady company. read more

We have belonged to credit unions all over America for 30 yrs. Moving to 08690, we had to bank at McGraw Hill bc. they were the only one near us. Big mistake! Every tiny question or request becomes an all day frustration. We have learned that customer service does not exist at McGraw Hill. When you finally get thru to the right person, they never, never call you back. They do not provide simple services that our other CUs did simply. Eg. We want our ATM only linked to our primary checking account, simple right? Not for McGraw Hill. All of our accounts must be accessible thru our ATM. So, if our ATM account is hacked, we could loose everything. You would think that they would help their customers limit their potential risk right? I have been promised a call back re this 2x. Hasn't happened. I sat on hold for 25 min then was disconnected. On top of that, they get pissy when you ask a question they can't answer. Make no assumptions about this CU. We are getting out. read more

You have to be careful of new fees with this credit union. Been a customer for 13 years and since the breakup of the original company, I guess they've been having some problems. Beware of new fees such as ordering checks (used to be free) or transferring funds from your overdraft account (once free with exception of interest paid on loan). The service reps were nice enough to reverse the fees but this credit union is "nickel and diming" everything that I've decided to transfer my accounts to another bank. read more

I refinanced my vehicle earlier this year to lower my monthly payment by almost half. In order to do so, i had to open an account with them. That seems reasonable. However, their customer service is less than helpful and the procedures for things as simple as changing your address are ridiculously over complicated and time consuming. I have yet to figure it out even. If you have other options for a credit union, take them. This place is a joke. read more

The worst credit union on earth!!! I refinanced a auto loan with these scam artist and first they told me After my 1st month I could switch my payment date because they just gave me whatever date they wanted, and after my 1st month they told me they were wrong. 2nd issue online bill pay sucks. it doesnt show you any info on your loan not even what your making a payment for and you never get any type of statement or any documentation on anything. 3rd if you have a car that you put in storage in winter like me they will not allow you to have storage insurance on it and you must still have full collision on it even when in storage. customer service sucks always on hold forever, and when you do finally connect you get nowhere with them. going to this lender is the worst mistake ive ever done. Also the reason they said that you must have collision while in storage is because they cant trust customers to tell the truth about the car being in storage... dont get conned by these scam atrist like I did read more

I feel sad about having to write a bad review of this credit union, but they deserve it. I've been a member for over 30 years and got my first mortgage through them. I always thought their services were fair and reasonably priced. But, lately, as at least one other commenter has noted, they have either significantly increased or implemented fees for services that used to be inexpensive or free. They also haven't clearly communicated these fee changes, which I think should be on their website instead of buried in a statement somewhere. read more
