I been with PFCU for a longtime but the service in Temple Tx is so poor, that I pulled my money out and moved it to Navy Credit Union in Austin. I would drive the 40 miles to find the lobby closed on Sat. That happened twice before I severed the relationship. Tried to call the branch several times and calls went to a national switchboard. I wish I could give it less than a one star review. Absolutely no customer service skills and they are downright rude. My father received a payout from a life insurance policy and it took him 3 months to get any money. They told him he had to request it. He said that is what he is doing. They told him it would take three week. Four weeks later he had me call them because he is deaf and still hadn't received his funds. They told me "you don't need to call, we will call when it is here" He finally went there and he said he wanted his money. He said he wasn't leaving until he got it. They told him there were calling the police and he told them to please do so. They miraculously came up with the money he wanted to withdraw. They then called Adult protective services and accused my nephew of abusing my dad for his money. The kicker was it was my nephews life insurance policy that my got received because my nephew passed away. My dad didn't even have the account until my nephew passed away and neither of them even lived in the state at the time. My dad changed banks but they told him it would be a $28..00 fee to transfer and I told them he wasn't going to pay to get his own money. They then said well we can do a bank check for free! Appalling! They were the ones abusing him. The branch has since closed but it was not a shock. The only surprise was that it was open as long as it was. read more

Well, I can tell you that the Temple location lacks customer service skills and the phone rep was very rude!

I was a member of Texas Partners Credit Union then it switched to Penfed. I have never had this bank do anything for me. They won't deposit my checks and continuously leave things pending in the hundreds of dollars. This week alone they have cost me $800. I could not buy groceries and had to beg the grace of the Vet Clinic because all my monies were tied up in Penfed policies. They use words like "mistakenly deposited", "I don't know" and always, "There's nothing we can do." Never did anyone say that they'll find out or let us help you, just oops, sorry. Yea, well there is something I can do and that's go elsewhere. This is why your bank posted a $65 million dollar loss this week. read more

Horrible credit union. Recently took over Texas partners and completely hosed up every existing account. Auto payments aren't getting made, allotments set up to transfer money aren't happening. Customer service couldn't care less. They may send you a new debit card, they may not. They may send you a pin, but meh, maybe not. They may send you your online pin, but probably not. Call em up and they will probably just lie to tell you not to worry, or will tell you they do something one way then next call they don't. Worst credit union I've ever seen. Update: the other reviews here before the last month or so are for Texas partners, which was a decent CU before penfed took over. read more

By far the worst banking ever, shame when it was Texas partners I enjoyed this bank. I'm constantly dealing with dumb little issues with my accounts all the time it seems like. I rather take my money to a big bank that knows what their doing than have a big bank buy out local credit unions just to fail their members. Leaving immediately, (roughly 5 years) and will urge my family to leave also (10+ years). read more

Absolutely the worst!!! I would not recommend Pen Fed to anyone. I am currently sitting on hold, it's been 26 mins and 3 transfers and still no answer as to why they haven't withdrawn my auto payment. I make this same phone call every couple of months because it happens that often. read more

This credit union was Texas Partners and a very good and personal credit union. The people there were helpful, friendly and familar. Since the PF invasion, you can not talk to a person via telephone and when you do it is someone, somewhere in yankee land. (Just saying, you are not going to be speaking with someone local and familiar.) I had a urgent issue, I called and went thru way too many automated menu's before being placed on hold for way too long. A week later I had another issue and experienced the same thing regarding a completely different issue. While I was on hold, I got in my car and drove to the branch, 5 miles away, waited in the drive thru line behind six cars in line, resolved the issue in 30 seconds with the single teller on duty. I was never able to reach a human being via telephone; was still on hold after the issue was resolved. Further, I am very careful about security issues. The first month PF issued a new card there was fraud on that card. If you are looking for personal experience, stay away from this credit union. They only got the second star for the few people they were able to retain from the old CU. read more

So I deposited $30 cash in the night deposit box two weeks ago. As of yet the deposit has not shown up in my account . I contacted the bank and through several emails and phone calls finally reach someone that pretty much called me a liar and said there was no proof of me putting cash in the night deposit box . It seems because it's a big corporation their word is better than mine and they are going to do nothing about this situation. I live off disability and when I realized I was overdrawn I went straight to the bank to put my last $30 in to bring me up to par. Why would I throw $30 out the window when I could've bought some food with it . Through the past several weeks of PenFed taking over Texas partners I have heard A lot of negative about it but always just read shit off thinking there had to be more to the story. Now I'm beginning to wonder do I find a new bank or stay with them ? read more

They seem to do a alright job with my money but they are VERY SLOW! They always seem to have new employees which would explain why they always have different rules for everything such as cashing checks depositing checks and so on..... The Belton branch seems to be better but the Temple one is closer to my house. It is a shame they drive me crazy! read more
