I've tried CBT, Art therapy, Counseling, and just about every medicine under the sun during that time with little to no results. I was convinced I was just going to have to live a life of unexplainable sadness and anxiety. Then I stumbled across Alternative Therapeutics and learned about neurofeedback. After speaking with a doctor there and doing a little research I decided to give it a go. This was the best decision I've ever made and the results were nothing short of a miracle. They taught me mindful meditation, controlled breathing and performed neurofeedback on me twice a week for ten weeks. Upon completion of these 20 sessions my sleep schedule was now normal and consistent, with very little fatigue during the day. This was a huge change as I was previously sleeping 12 hrs a night and tired ALL day. I was missing out on a lot of my life and just going through the motions. This is no more, I sleep 7-8 hours a night and feel energetic ALL day. I was also very sad without any real reason the majority of the time and feeling hopeless. This slowly subsided over our time together to the point that I have absolutely zero symptoms of my depression. This was a first in 10 years!!!! One year later I am still completely symptom free from my depression. I was able to get off of all the medication I was taking, which was exhilarating for me and helped me lose 65lbs. Weight that the medicine put on me. I think of my life on two timelines now, BNF (Before Neurofeedback) and ANF (After Neurofeedback) because the two are like night and day. The staff here is highly intelligent, dedicated, and compassionate. They made me feel very comfortable and were wonderful at explaining and guiding me through this process. Not having a psychiatrist and being so close to my home, I decided to stop in and check it out. What I found was different from a traditional doctors office. I met Dr. Turell the psychiatrist and owner of the practice who runs the place. There was old vinyl records playing and a comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Turell was very friendly and welcoming. I set up an initial appointment where he asked me a lot of questions to get to know me and then prescribed me medication. After a few appointments he introduced me to a service he had available for depression called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) which I had never heard of. Being resistant to many psychiatric medications I decided to give it a try. Dr. Turell was very helpful and professional throughout the sessions I've had with him. I definitely recommend Strive Mental Health and Wellness to anyone in the Cleveland area looking to tryout TMS or get involved in wellness programs he has to offer.

She canceled our next appointment day of so I left a vm to reschedule. Office took weeks to call back. 2nd try was a CNP as Audrey left, when CNP are not trained as therapists. She warned me a drug rep may enter, so not HIPAA compliant. I just wanted someone to listen, but she talked the entire time making false assumptions and suggestions I had already tried. 3rd appt I had a work emergency come up so I was forced to late cancel. I was charged a late notice fee of $75 when the office had done the same to me already, was I supposed to charge a late notice fee? Life happens to everyone. The office is also pretty hard to reach. Sadly I do not recommend this office.
