    If you had a mammogram done here and need a copy of it, DON'T CALL THEM - unless you love complicated situations with no resolution in sight... GO DIRECTLY TO 101 S SAN MATEO DRIVE, second floor, and ask the wonderful receptionists to make you a copy of your previous mammograms - go have a coffee and pastry on 3rd street, and come back to get your CD. Done. Alternatively, you could call them and end up on their centralized Simon Med call center, wait one hour if you're lucky, or leave one or 15 messages for someone to call you back ...one day... Now, if you DO get someone, go ahead and ask them for a copy of your records. They won't have them. Now they might ask you many questions but will only confirm, in the end, that NOPE they don't have them. They'll even question whether you really had a mammo done there. If you stay with them long enough, they might transfer you to their Medical Records department. Of course they won't have time to explain your situation so if you didn't record yourself the first time, go ahead and explain everything again, give all your numbers, and get another "no we don't have your records.. are you sure you did them here?..." now in the process, if you mention "Peninsula Diagnostics" enough, one of those many people you speak to may have a lightbulb moment and say "Ooooooh Peninsula Diagnostics!! ok I know what happened.." then they'll explain how Simon Med bought them but that they don't have any of the records - but you could send a Release Authorization form and it'll take 3 weeks (maybe) to get them. The next day, you'll call again, and you will literally talk to the same people and go through the whole shpeel again to confirm they got your release form, and they will not remember a thing about Peninsula Diagnostics, bought by Simon Med, nope no records, did you really have a mammogram with us? Groundhog day... Now this could all be a good story to tell over a boring dinner, but when you've got the pressure of a doctor saying they need your records to compare results or you're going to have to get a biopsy --- not so funny. Does Simon Med care? not really. I spoke to them again, and after waiting long enough finally got to someone explaining I was NOT going to go through my whole situation again - that I wanted to speak with a manager. Poor guy seemed like he wanted to care and said he was going to get a manager for me. I'm waiting.. waiting.. til I say "hello?" and he was still there.. Are you getting a manager? - I'm talking to him now - What do you mean you're talking to him, can't he come on the phone? - no I'm chatting with him - Oh well is he going to call me? -no he's not going to because he doesn't see your records. Basically the manager didn't have the guts to get on the phone with me. Nice. I come to Yelp, and read in the reviews that you can either wait weeks to get the results. OR you can go in yourself to get them -- thank you to whoever posted that! Went in this morning, spoke with Kalo, who was SO SO NICE, who confirmed my previous 4 mammograms were in her system, and that she could get them on a CD for me - would just take an hour. Went down to 3rd street, got a pastry and a coffee, came back for my CDs, brought them myself to my doctor, and Voila - If this post can spare 1 person a fraction of the aggravation I got from the ineptitude of Simon Med, totally worth it!

    I had a very frustrating experience with BodySpec and would not recommend them if you care about…read moreaccuracy and consistency in your body composition data. My report initially contained a confirmed processing error. After I pointed it out, they "reanalyzed" the same scan and uploaded corrected results -- but the numbers for the exact same scan date (October 26, 2025) are different between the old and new reports. This includes different body fat percentages and lean mass values for the same scan, which should never happen. Despite this, they insist the updated results are "accurate" and refused to offer a complimentary rescan. What's more frustrating is that when I asked for clear validation (what exactly went wrong, what changed, and why the two reports still show different data), they avoided directly answering the most important question: why the same scan still produces conflicting results across reports. That lack of transparency is unacceptable. If a company cannot guarantee consistent results from the same scan, then the reliability of their entire service is questionable. I rely on these scans to track real progress, and this experience has completely undermined my confidence in their data. Reply to BodySpec: Once again, I want to re-emphasize that you've changed the results for the same scan THREE times!! Imagine if I had trusted your data from the beginning and never contacted your team to look into it -- I would have been relying on the wrong data. What's the point of doing the scan if the data is incorrect? All I'm asking is for you to compensate for YOUR MISTAKE by allowing me to have a complimentary rescan, and I'll let this go. But your customer service has dodged my question and is essentially saying "trust me on the data." How can I trust it after my data has changed THREE TIMES?

    This was my first time doing a body spec scan and I didn't really know what to expect. I have been…read moreworking out pretty regularly with Orangetheory fitness, where they will sometimes perform an InBody scan to measure your body fat and muscle and weight and progress in improving these as your workout regularly. But even OTF is upfront about the fact that the DexaScan is the most accurate measurement tool. So I wanted to sign up for a DexaScan to get a baseline measurement of my physical state. They have many different packages, but I just went with the 2 scans per quarter (3 months) for $79.95, which comes out to about $40/scan and seems reasonable. Signup is easy, all done online via their website. You choose a date and ~15 minute window and just show up a few minutes early. The parking is easy, with plenty of spots in the lot behind the building. There are two semi-walled off "rooms" where the machines are located, one in each. It's basically a giant table and an x-ray machine. You lay on it for about 8 minutes and it's done. The guy who did my scan, Juan, made sure to wipe down and disinfect the surfaces before it was my turn. And my results were emailed to me within 10 minutes of completing the scan. All results are saved in your online BodySpec profile. I'll be back in a few months time to see if I've improved!

On this particular…read moreday, I was feeling very worried about my condition and really wanted to get an ultrasound in order to make an emergency decision. With the weekend coming up, I was unable to reach my own doctor and even Urgent care was booked for the rest of the week. I checked on Yelp and found Josephs great reviews and sent him a message about my condition. He immediately responded and told me he could make time at the end of his work day to help me do the ultrasound (knowing my condition). Whats really great is that I could pay out of the pocket at a great price without worrying about my medical insurance limitability, which most places will not take. On the same day, I drove to his office in the afternoon and met him. I told him about my worries and he was just so understanding, comforting and told me he would do his best to find any issues and would even provide a note to emergency in case he found something that needed immediate attention. As we went through the ultrasound he kept reassuring me about things, and did a super thorough scan of the area I was concerned about. He provided me with a lot of information, including images I could take home and a report that was sent to me within a few hours. I learned a lot about the scan and felt like I was under the care of someone who really wanted me to pull through. I feel he goes 100% in the work he does! I'm very grateful Joseph was there for me on this day and I don't know how I would have coped if I didn't find him here on Yelp. He is one of a kind and one of the Best there is in service and caring for patients. All around super cool person and truly a gem, Blessings!

Smart Health Screening is an out-of-network provider under my insurance but I decided to go with it because nowadays honest and genuine customer care is hard to find. Keep up the great work Joseph. You cannot make an appointment online for an X-ray - you will not be able to proceed further and it says go walk in. I tried to walk in today (Wednesday) at this clinic but then they said sorry they don't do X-rays at this location on Wednesdays. Ok.... This was not mentioned on their website anywhere for this location. I asked the front desk if other sites have X-rays today and she mentioned San Mateo "but only until like 12:30 PM or so because the tech goes around" What is the point of advertising that you can walk in anytime for X-rays when in fact the availability could be quite limited / unavailable and you wouldn't really know until you get there? Their website has an "X-ray queue" and right now it says 1 waiting for this location but they're certainly not waiting for an X-ray today since they're supposedly closed for X-rays today. What is happening! I'll try again and will try to report back on the actual experience but beware don't come to this clinic on Wednesdays for a walk in X-ray since it'll be a waste of time. UPDATE: I tried calling this clinic to double check they were open and were doing X-rays but it seemed hard to get a hold of the front desk staff. It seemed like I was being sent to a call center "next available agent" which is not super helpful, so I hung up and decided to just drive back again the next day. I was able to come back the next day and the process was generally smooth. They took my insurance and I only had to pay a $10 fee (hopefully no giant surprise bill later). The actual X-rays only took like 5 minutes not even and the tech was very courteous. Overall I would say a few improvements could be made: 1) the website needs to be updated to say don't come here on Wednesdays for X-rays because the tech is not here 2) the site should indicate any other limited availability (e.g. are X-rays actually available all day?) 3) make it easier to actually reach the front desk via phone for basic questions. 4) I think 1 text / reminder call is probably sufficient. I got 4 texts and 3 voicemails in the span of two days.
