Text message from yesterday July 31

I have never dealt with a "professional" business like this. I had an appointment scheduled for today Aug 1 for an mri. I get to my appointment after coming home early from a vacation just to hear that they rescheduled it for the 17th. I have an EMAIL and TEXT message from yesterday confirming my appointment for today. Then I was told by 2 people at Peninsula Imaging that they called my primary to get some paperwork they needed. So I write a very strongly worded email to my primary. When I call Peninsula back about paying out of pocket I am then told that my primary DID RESPOND and that they are waiting for the insurance company to respond. So I have now written angry emails to my primary based on what I was told by 2 employees of Peninsula Imaging. Avoid this place! No one has any idea what's going on and clearly patient care is last on their list of priorities. If 0 stars were an option that's what I would give them.

So, I went to check in. The front desk was patient and kind with me. Once I turned in all my information and paid my copay, I was called moments later. The techs were knowledgeable and asked questions to make sure I was comfortable. I needed imaging for my doctor and had contrast (which I've never done before) but it went well. The day before I was stuck 4 times with a needle so I didn't want anyone who couldn't get it on the first try. When I tell you, the lady got me on the first try... I almost cried in relief. I hate being a pin cushion. From then on I laid back and let them do their thing. They explained everything to me and it was just as they said. I would go to them for everything no questions asked! I really appreciate having a great experience!

I had an appointment scheduled 2 weeks before the merger officially took place on March 1, 2026. My appointment for an MRI was scheduled for March 3. I get a text stating that the MRI had to be canceled because prior authorization was not obtained prior to the appointment. The message said I was welcome to keep the appointment but the out of pocket cost would need to be paid at the time of service. When I called to say that a CMI representative told me authorization was obtained and the appointment was confirmed, I was told the merger took place on March 1 and the prior authorization for the appointment was for Chesapeake Medical Imagining (CMI), not RadNet and RadNet could not accept the prior authorization from CMI. The new company, RadNet explained that a new referral would need to be written from my provider and go through the whole prior auth process again!! This will delay the procedure another 10 to 14 days. This means I am waiting for a month or more for an MRI necessary for my doctor to evaluate and treat my condition. The doctor said he cannot ethically prescribe medication until he sees the results of the MRI. Not to mention that I was on hold with an extremely unprofessional RadNet representative (Amanda) for almost an hour while the rep went back and forth with the insurance authorization and billing department. This extraordinarily long hold time was NEVER an issue with CMI and scheduling and obtaining a prior atheization was never an issue. It seems like there is a monopoly with medical imaging because of this recent merger. I don't see these issues getting better since bigger seems to indicate more room for error and unprofessionalism. I have been a long-standing patient with CMI (14 years), but because of this merger and my most recent experience, I feel patient care has gone to the wayside and the professionalism was nonexistent. The good news is that I am a patient with Mercy and will transfer all of my medical imaging studies to them. To be clear, with this new merger of CMI and RadNet (Advanced Radiology), I o longer recommend this business to anyone. I gave 1 star because it was required.

I am very pleased with my experience. I am visually impaired and made them aware of this when I scheduled my procedures. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left the office they went above and beyond to accommodate me and make sure that I was comfortable and provided all the necessary assistance I needed. The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. I was early for my appointment and was taken back before my scheduled time. You have to love when you go to the healthcare provider's office and you're not only seen on time, but early! Nowadays that is not always the case with any medical or health provider. The first tech that I dealt with took extra time to help me prepare for my MRI. She took extra steps to make sure all of my questions and concerns were addressed and provided me additional assistance due to my disability. During my procedure, the other tech that helped me was also incredible. He was very communicative throughout the procedure, which made it far less stressful. MRIs can be scary and it definitely helps to have a tech that understands that and does everything they can to put you at ease. He explained what he was doing throughout the process and the entire process ran very smoothly. I felt very comfortable during the whole appointment. Getting an MRI can be scary and stressful. If you do not have caring and compassionate people to help you can make it even worse. I cannot say enough about the staff at this location of advanced radiology. They definitely made the experience as comfortable and pleasant as is possible.

The problems occurred with the people at the registration desks. They were not polite or helpful either time that I went. The first time was this past Monday when I went for an mri. The information I thought I needed was in my purse but when I first entered the building, I was told I didn't need it. The registration clerk said I couldn't go forward with the mri because I didn't have the right information. She was snarky and impolite and finally someone else came over and said that what I had thought I didn't need, I needed to enroll for the mri. I want to be clear, the mri technicians were wonderful and kind. I have had the experience many times of an mri, so I know it is never easy or fun. The following day I was scheduled to have a mammo, and again the woman at the registration desk was not helpful and seemed to have a bad attitude. The problem this time was that the original script was from an oncologist I was no longer seeing. The registration clerk was not helpful in trying to get the new doctor at Tunnell to write a new script and send it to the registration desk so I could get the mammo. She was so rude that I simply got up, took what papers I had, and walked out. The training for registrations clerks should be critical in making them understand that people who are coming for tests, treatments, etc. usually have a medical condition and paramount to everything else, kindness, courteousness, and helpfulness is most important. I apologize for having lost it both days. It's not in my nature to be rude but I simply can't understand what is going on at Beebe. I am high risk for a second breast cancer but I really am unsure how to proceed. Vicki Lant 12/9/21
