We spoke several times, he replied to texts night or day he guided the ICU nurse through a procedure. Post hospital, I went to his office (today) and he did a procedure that solved the problem. And now my body is functioning normally! But Dr. Sloane didn't stop there. As a precaution, he is sending mt to a get a ultrasound just to make sure all is well. He does all he does with super confidence and at the same time a close connection and empathy with his patient. Clearly really experienced, talked through all the details, things to look out for, etc; helped us understand how to think about what was important, rather than the textbook, neutral answers we've been getting from too many other doctors lately. The procedure itself was super easy; he talked me through what would happen and then what was happening, and checked in regarding pain and sensation along the way. Recovery has been way easier than I thought; only a tiny bit of swelling, the expected discomfort, but not painful. Overall, just a really great experience. The office staff was easy to schedule with, clear about availability, and flexible when I had to shuffle some things around. Other offices I called were hard to get through with, had distant availability, did vasectomies one day a month, couldn't confirm how long after a consultation I'd actually be able to book a procedure, had web forms that went no where, put me on hold for 30 minutes before terminating the call, etc. The one thing they need to work on is their tech -- email confirmations/calendar appointments and electronic docs or links instead of printouts (maybe they do this, but it wasn't apparent/offered?); the site has links to a patient portal, but it doesn't seem to work; they have a robo-caller call to confirm appointments, but it doesn't leave voicemails, so it just looks like you missed a call from the office. I have been a patient of Dr. Gittens and his helpful team for about two years now. I'm leaving this review two years later because the end of a year (2018) makes us think. I'm thinking about how Dr. Gittens drastically changed my life for the better. Prior to my first consultation (29 years old) I had somehow lost my libido overnight, yet it took me at least four months to realize the change. Losing a strong libido just like that affected every facet of my life - relationships with women, relationships with family and my friends, and also my interest in hobbies and socializing. I think the point I realized it was truly an issue was during an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation with my girlfriend at the time. I actively avoided anything sexual and when we did I had issues. It not only hurt her feelings thinking I am just not attracted to her, but also made me realize how serious it is that at just under thirty years old I was struggling. To put it simply, I was beyond confused and worried prior to my first consultation with Dr. Gittens. I didn't find him through a referral but instead through my own methods. His social media pages are active (good sign), he's been quoted in just about every popular magazine from Men's Health to Buzzfeed, he has positive reviews on Yelp, Google, and other places, he's won the Philadelphia Top Doctor Award multiple times (big deal if you know Philly well), checking his LinkedIn for even more information about where he went to school, that he taught as an adjunct professor, and his experience working as a Sexual Medicine Specialist for years. I called afterward to potentially schedule an appointment and it was a good sign that his team answered the phone on my first attempt because it shows Dr. Gittens and his team run a solid medical practice and are in sync. During that first consultation Dr. Gittens asked me about myself, lifestyle, medical history, current medications, why I was here (libido), and helped establish a timeline. This was all done in his Bala office with a second monitor facing me as he was able to better explain specifics about potential causes and what we would do to restore my libido. I came out feeling good mentally and got the specific medical labs Dr. Gittens requested. My second appointment shortly after was when we took-action. We discussed the problem in greater detail and with the labs Dr. Gittens to explain his thoughts clearly and with diagrams to demonstrate some points. Although my labs came out somewhat normal, Dr. Gittens was able to think outside of the box and not dismiss me like I expect other busy doctors would. The appointment ended with me trying a new medication. It worked well for some time and without side effects. My libido was not entirely back to normal but at least I was making progress. I followed up with Dr. Gittens every few months and over the past few years we have added a few more medications (nothing too serious) and over the past few years it has increased significantly nearly to the point before I had any problems. But it's never a clear path and I guess that is where many patients give up - no matter what the person is being treated for. I trust Dr. Gittens and so we continued to adjust my medication while I also tried living a healthier lifestyle. It's a little more than week since the start of 2018 and I have had a consistent, very solid libido for at least six months now. That doesn't mean I'm done and don't need Dr. Gittens help anymore. My body will continue to change as I age and my lifestyle changes. I don't expect my current regimen to be permanent. That would be completely unrealistic when it comes to something like sexual medicine. But for the time being everything is great and when my libido inevitably changes - 1 month or 10 years from now, I'll be returning to Dr. Gittens again for help and adjustments. But at the moment I have appointments no more than four times per year. What Dr. Gittens has done to help me is life-changing. Anyone reading this might not really "get it" until it happens to them. Sexual Medicine Specialists don't grow on trees. It's a very particular type of medical field and being able to find one of the few that are great at what they do is rare. Reflecting on 2018 I count Dr. Gittens as one of the most impactful people to my life this past year. Can I give six stars instead of five?

So I scheduled my appointment on Friday and they were able to put me in on Monday. I showed up at 3:30 (my assigned time), fearing I'd end up spending my entire afternoon there. Within 10 minutes I was seen by a nurse and within another 5 Dr. P showed up. She's just awesome. Totally conversational, quick to put you at ease, thorough... We talked about my medical history, she ran through a few exams, prescribed some medicine for my nagging cough, and sent me off for some blood work. I was out of the office by 4:15! If you're not an established patient, you should be! The reception staff is delightful, providing dual check-in for Urology and Dermatology. The waiting area is immaculate, and spacious, including charging stations for your portable devices, and modern well-kept furniture. The entire facility, and its furnishings are infinitely cleaner, and incomparably better maintained than every common area in several "24/7 concierge buildings", just outside center city Philadelphia. Your care starts when you're called from an entranceway to the exam rooms, where there's clean bathrooms on each side of the entrance. After providing your urine sample, one of several cordial, and professional nurses directs you to your exam room, and, shortly thereafter, checks your blood pressure, and performs a test to measure the amount of urine retained in your bladder. The lab staff is so efficient and effective, testing of the urine, and all notes except for "after visit" notes, are completed while you're in the exam room. If you don't have the MyChart app installed on your phone, you should- it's an incredible resource. Notices from the MyChart app are for appointments, refills, messing with your care team, lab results, and much more. The exam rooms are all up to date, and facilities are extremely clean, affording safe, and healthy conditions. Dr. Llenado is a highly respected and knowledgeable master of her craft, and a standout within the urology department.
