I read the other reviews on Yelp, and yes, very often the staff ignores customers for phone calls and seems disinterested but if you want what they have, just do your shopping. Despite all their brands being available either direct through the store (Free People) or other retail shops (Nordstrom), I've committed to Something Else because it's run by a small business owner. Today, I was let down. I had scheduled a girls day with my mom which included shopping here. My mom had a few returns. Apparently it had been ~35 days since her purchase and the policy is ~21 days. I appreciate policy; however, I'm in the customer service business and fully recognize some instances require an exception. A few things to note: 1. It was very recent since the original purchase. 2. My mom alone spends a TON of money in this store - as do I, and her girlfriends, all of whom she has personally introduced the store to (in other words, she's always sending business to this company). 3. Upon pushback from the associates, we asked the girl to call the owner - Kristin. Kristin shockingly denied the return request (FOR STORE CREDIT) because of the "quick turnover of clothes on the floor". I actually buy into this logic - HOWEVER, WHAT MY MOM WAS RETURNING WAS, IN FACT, STILL ON THE FLOOR. It candidly felt like a bad canned response. I'm shocked they wouldn't make an exception for a (very) frequent customer. The girls behind the desk were also difficult when we were showing some store credit we have (which, incidentally, was given to us as a result of spending so much money there). At this point, we are struggling to find a reason to shop here. Big retailers have better sales, larger selections, and significantly better return policy. We used to shop here for the small business owner, but will not anymore as a result of how we were treated.

Went in today for the first and last time. Upon opening the door, I was hit with such a strong…read moremusty/mildewy odor. I can not imagine how this odor would ever wash out of the clothing. I did look around, just out of curiosity, but that odor was too overwhelming to even consider trying on anything. I can't figure how anyone can stand to be inside the place for more than a few minutes. It's atrocious. As for the staff, there were 2 older ladies greeting guests and a young lady at the register. When the older ladies asked if they could help me find something, I mentioned it was my first time stopping in and we'd just had lunch across the street, so I'm just browsing. The dark haired lady asked what we had and if we liked it. I said we'd been going weekly for the last 4-5 weeks and everything has been excellent. The lighter haired lady interjected (I didn't get to tell the other lady what we ate), saying she'd been there when they first opened (a year or so ago?). I asked if she liked it and she got quite agitated and said "NO!" I asked "Why? What did you have?" She went off on a tirade about how she "asked for a steak sandwich and it didn't come with sauce!" I asked "Sauce?" She continued "yes! I've NEVER seen a steak sandwich without SAUCE! I asked 'what am I supposed to put on it, then?!' And they told me ketchup! I wanted SAUCE! They told me they didn't have that!" She kept repeating that she'd never seen a steak sandwich without sauce. I told her "Well, they're not a pizza shop, so if they don't make things with sauce, they wouldn't have it and, also, that would be called a pizza steak -- a regular steak sandwich does not come with sauce." I made sure to repeat that we'd gone there every week lately and everything we've had has been excellent. She then claimed they charged her $2.50 for water and didn't believe me that I got ice water served in a large cup for free. Hoo boy! This lady is a piece of work. BTW, I don't know what the menu looked like when the place first opened but, in case she's reading this, they DO have a pizza steak on the menu now. I should have told her that, by HER logic, people should leave her a bad review bc she doesn't sell, say... Levi's and they wanted Levi's! Such a ridiculous reason to tell people you didn't like a place! Just like saying you didn't like a restaurant bc you wanted something they do not serve! But yeah... I would give her ZERO STARS if that was an option. Because her store reeks terribly and her attitude leaves a lot to be desired! Prices are ridiculous, too. Oy.

Nevertheless, the issues began with scheduling when 1) the boutique and owner are unreachable via phone for any questions or scheduling inquiries and 2) my appointments kept on getting rescheduled which is not a great way to start off, especially with little to no notice. 3) most notably, I was a bit appalled by both some of the email and in person communication from the owner as though I "didn't belong" in the store when I was supporting business.. with inventory. I have consigned with other businesses around and if I am a consignor, I would think, as the business owner, there should be some level of courtesy/respect and gratitude as I would bring as well but there was minimal from her end. While I had items that sold, items ended up getting pulled from the shelves before the contract end and sat for weeks due to poor communication. I will not be returning here and with the experience I had, I highly do not recommend in order to save yourself a headache and inconvenience (or several). I think it's best to do business with those who are happy to work with you and that was not my experience here. I think there was a lack of competency and professionalism too. Good luck to this place though.
