I really like this store! So many people offered help! I did end up finding my dress for junior prom here. The selection is small, which is not a terrible thing. They also categorize by color rather than size, making it disappointing when you find a dress but it's not your size. I did have to order a dress in a different size. I feel as though the prices in the store are more consistent rather than at XO or Golden Asp where it ranges from $99-$700. They also have different dresses, not all of them fit in the current prom trend. Which I personally dislike. We almost didn't consider this store because of the negative review on Yelp. What a mistake that would have been. This was our last choice for searching for "the dress" and the store ended up having more than one dress that my daughter loved not to mention the staff who could not have been more patient and helpful. I must admit that the owner comes off a bit "flakey" and doesn't interact as well with customers as does her staff, but she is a very kind and helpful woman. It's too bad the shop owner of Party Girls can't see that her staff is killing her business. She's got a great inventory of beautiful dresses, but the ladies who work there need a major lesson in customer service. They were downright unpleasant. NO ONE smiled and I clearly got the sense that we were a bother to them. I asked about ordering a dress if they didn't have the right size in stock. The answer I got was a quick, "We can, but then it's yours!" She said it with such a nasty attitude that it completely turned me off. My daughter is very modest and wanted to keep her very thin camisole on underneath the dresses she tried on. One of the women very nastily said, "We can't see if the dress fits because she refuses to take off the camisole! She NEEDS to take it off!" I think at that point we were pretty scared of these women and it showed in how quiet we became. While my daughter was in the dressing room trying something on, one of the sales ladies said to me, "I don't think she really wants to be here." Who is she to tell me what my daughter wants? She just met us 15 minutes ago! We found a gorgeous ball gown and discussed having it cut down to a shorter dress. When I commented about the very steep price to spend on a dress and then pay to cut it shorter, Wendy had the nerve to suggest that I reduce the guest list in order to save money elsewhere. Again, who is she to make that very stupid remark? We ultimately bought a beautiful dress for our affair, but you can be sure we DID NOT buy it from Party Girls! I will NEVER shop there again and if anyone ever mentions in passing about checking the place out, I will most certainly tell them not to bother. We left there feeling as if we had been reprimanded and these ladies didn't even know us! I had gone to Jan's in Cherry Hill. It was SO busy and you can wait up to an hour just to try on dresses. In contrast, Party Girls was quiet and empty. Now I know why. After sharing my story with others in the area, it seems the attitude of the sales ladies is what drives customers away. read more

I have gone to Party Girls several times recently for dresses for my 2 daughters to wear to bar/bat mitzvahs. I did not find anyone to be overbearing or pushy. In fact, they were more than helpful and had great knowledge of how dresses are supposed to fit and look. They had a nice selection of dresses in different styles and price ranges. It is Newtown and it is an upscale store, so you can't go there and expect that it will be inexpensive. I was able to find them both dresses in a price range that I was comforable with and did not think was crazy. There are not many boutiques for girls that have such unique designs as well as specialized customer service in the Newtown area. I'm sure I will be making many more successful trips to Party Girls in the future! read more

Say Yes to the Dress! Service as good as it gets. I learned my lesson the hard way. After spending HOURS walking the malls, driving from shop to shop, dealing with tears of frustration, my daughter and I decided to visit Party Girls. After a kind greeting and getting a sense of the planned event, dresses were pulled with my daughter's consent. I gladly took a seat on the fitting area couch as the staff catered to my daughter's every need. I was able to watch my daughter's reaction to each dress. Her face and posture said it all when she walked out in an adorable fuschia dress for her freshman dance . That was 4 dresses, and 3 years ago. With each visit we are greeted in the same pleasant manner. Never once have I felt pressured to purchase. Could I find a dress on-line for less, or perhaps at a different shop? Maybe so. However, I can not put a price on my free time, the quality of service we receive, and most importantly the radiant smile on my daughter's face! Thank you Ladies! The selection of gorgeous dresses is incomparable to any other department store or website. As soon as I have formal events coming up I go strait to Party Girls were I find the perfect dress for every occasion. I have bought so many dresses from Party Girls and they do not only sell dresses. Usually once I find a dress that I absolutely love they start helping me find the best accessories such as shoes and jewelry.All of the dresses I have purchased fit me beyond compare because of their unbelievable tailoring. I bought my daughter's party dress here for her night party for her Bat Mitzvah. The selection is nice, but not the the owner or a few teen/college-aged girls who aren't knowledgeable or helpful. Be prepared to be "sized up" upon entering. Also, my husband came to see the dress before we bought it, and the one of the salesgirls said "no one brings their husband or dad here." Well get a clue, some wives and daughters value his opinion. I won't go back. The best part of the experience was the seamstress who was very nice and did great work. Just an update here! WOW! Crazily enough I received a direct email to me from the store owner/manager or someone most certainly affiliated with the store! It was a most unwelcome, unsolicited & completely random rebuttal starting with expressing surprise that someone would come all the way from NYC to Newtown to buy a dress. I'm speechless really! I happen to have grown up in Bucks County & NYC is actually quite close by car! I still spend a lot of time there in my weekend home. Maybe part of the problem is that this store owner doesn't leave Newtown & thinks the world revolves around her corner of the world? Instead of wasting time email harassing me, how about focussing on improving store customer relations? The other review posted here gives credence to my initial review.
