    Georgian Cheese-bread - Khachapuri

An absolute gem of a coffee shop located on Main st in Buffalo. It is definitely worth the trip and your time. Everything from the unique Turkish coffee to the wonderful food items is worth the hype. Be sure to read your fortune in the Turkish coffee grounds. I would definitely recommend the cheese bread as well. Enjoy!!

The perfect fusion of coffee shop and outdoor oasis. Brandon G., the local Yelp leader in Buffalo, suggested we work from here one morning while I was in town and it was the best suggestion ever. Locally owned and operated, this place has that special spark to it... The kind where you can see the passion and love that the owners have poured into it. The space itself is beautiful, with a ton of natural light, bright greenery, and even a little nook with a swing and a lovely photo opp. I ordered a latte and a croissant and busted out some work for a couple of hours. The wifi was strong, there was street parking out front, and the service was top notch. I honestly could have stayed here all day. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and I highly suggest you pay them a visit the next time you're looking to work out of the house or office and/or need a pick me up that only coffee can fix.

Penny's is such a fun spot! Located right in the heart of the city, I like to stop here on my way to work occasionally or I stop in for a solo date with a book, and it's super cozy. My go to drink is always a latte with either caramel or vanilla, however I do switch up on what I get to eat. So far, I've tried a plain bagel toasted with butter, an everything bagel with cream cheese, their double chocolate chip muffin and their chocolate chip cookies. My favorite item? The plain bagel toasted with butter! I don't know how they get the butter to soak so perfectly into the bagel, but oh my goodness, it's amazing. The employees are always super friendly and I think it's just a great spot to kick off your day. Plus, it's so cute inside that you can take some really fun photos.

    Cool lights!

Really cute place, I absolutely love the ambiance in here. However, the food was very mediocre. Like, 17 dollars for a sandwich and it's half hot half cold? Cheese isn't even melted? Disappointed there. The drinks were good! And then the service.. not so sure about that. Overheard the same worker being rude to people a few times. I'd come back, but only for drinks. And I'd prefer just to order the self order stand if the workers are gonna be rude.

The sugar free Carmel latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon was great. The espresso was rich and smooth. Came back the next day to order food and kill some time. That's when I discovered the swings. I just love the swings and the decorations are cute. The cashier was nice and personable. Nothing amazing but also nothing bad. If you're in the neighborhood stop by.

    Chicken Shawarma

Disappointing. Service was not great, was sold croissant breakfast sandwich and the next person in line also bought two croissants but they somehow didn't have one for my party. Food and drinks took close to 50 minutes to prepare. They seemed to prioritize togo orders instead of restaurant customers. Restaurant didn't seem overly busy but employees seemed very stressed and were stern with customers to line up in different ways (there were maybe 2 people in line at any given time). Kind of made it all a stressful atmosphere. Additionally, the shawarma wrap was not so great. Loaded with dressing and falling apart. Overall, a really disappointing experience for over $50. Also, we were warned their signature dish (Khachapuri) would take 30-40 minutes to prepare so we didn't order it, and ended up waiting over 40 minutes for our food anyways.

I really enjoyed the latte and panini I ordered at this spot. The iced baklava latte was so unique and delicious. I felt bad for the staff as there was a woman who was rude to them for being understaffed. I think they did a fantastic job considering there were only two employees! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Buffalo!

Food was excellent, ambiance was nice calm and well decorated, but the frustration was that our food took 30 minutes from when we ordered. Not sure if they were maybe just short staffed. I ordered the peanut butter toast and my husband had the lox bagel and it didn't seem that busy inside so I really don't understand why it took so long. We would still go back and just know we can't be in a rush to go somewhere else.

4.5/5 I got the iced caramel apple tea latte which was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Not too sweet and a perfect blend of flavours. Tasted like autumn! about $5.50 I also got the lox bagel which was amazing. I knocked half a star because it could have used more salmon but nonetheless it was absolutely delicious! $11 The interior is sooo cute! Great cafe!

I have been here before, and frankly I cannot recall what my experience was like, but I have some further thoughts. If I'm expected to pay a tip, the least they could do is bring the order to the table; especially since I'm handicapped. That bitchery aside, the food (lox sandwich) was delicious and the chai latte was one of the best I've had. I'm afraid to try the Turkish coffee for some reason, maybe someday I'll get over it. Then there was the baklava - holy crap was it delicious!!

cute side room to eat, drink, and study in!

I've visited Penny's twice now, and both experiences have been fantastic. A few weeks ago, my friend and I stopped by for lunch since we're interning nearby, and it was a lovely walk on a nice day. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and a blueberry latte (unfortunately, no pictures), and I have to say, the latte was one of the best I've ever had from a coffee shop. I usually make my own at home because I'm picky about the taste, but they absolutely nailed it! The wrap was also delicious, and I'll definitely be returning for lunch soon. Since it's my birthday month, Penny's sent me a $5 birthday coupon--thank you, Penny's!!! So, I decided to grab a quick breakfast to go today. The employees were super nice and took the time to explain the seasonal coffee specials, which I really appreciated. I ordered the strawberries and cream cold brew (summer seasonal flavor) and a plain bagel toasted with strawberry cream cheese. Although I'm not usually a big fan of cold brew, this one was amazing. You can't beat the vibes of this place, either; it's beautifully set up, and I can definitely see myself studying here during the school year. Cheers to Penny's! I highly recommend everyone give it a try:)

Came by for a work meeting and stayed to grab a bite. I wanted to sample a bit of what they had to offer so I got a sandwich, blueberry muffin, and a hot beverage. Everything was really delicious.l! Not being a huge coffee drinker, I got one of their seasonal 'spring fever' drinks, which was called 'Cup of Sunshine'. This was a house-made Golden milk that was sweetned with honey. The chicken pesto panini ($14.95) was very delicious and came with chicken pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, and mozzarella on focaccia bread. It came with a little salad as well. And the blueberry muffin ($3.50)was a large delicious blueberry muffin, haha! I also really enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the place and it had a variety of seating options, including a pair of porch swings (probably not the best for drinking a hot coffee though lol)

    Smoked Salmon Toast
    Vicky B.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday and enjoyed the smoked salmon toast and coffee. Everything about the toast was delicious! The atmosphere here is also very welcoming and cute, with table seating, seating along the window, and an adjacent room that's a cute space for a photo op. Ordering was quick but it took my food quite a while to come out. However they were very busy that day which may have been the reason why my food took awhile.

    Cute photo op

The staff is always so friendly and kind. Ive been to the location on Elmwood as well. Almost 2 , 3 times a week lol . And the staff in both locations are wonderful . Not the drinks and food. There is soooo much to choose from , and everything looks and smells equally delicious. Our first visit I landed on the Pastashio frappe, and my daughter the hot chocolate. For a bit to eat I ordered the Bee bits. Which is Toasted Bread with Cream cheese and Honey. So delicious!!!! Recommend 100%. My daughter ordered two Macaroons. She also enjoyed. Now my go to drink is there Pistachio Latte!!!! Order one next time. You'll thank me later. We've also tired the virual fruit desserts. So far only tried the lemon. Was good but not my favorite. Turns out they're actually white chocolate shells filled with mousse and the actual fruit inside. It's a really fun concept, but unfortunately not really my cup of tea. It was pretty sweet, but somehow still didn't have much flavor. My biggest disappointment was that the staff didn't really know much about the products they were selling. They were friendly enough, but when I asked questions about the items, they couldn't really provide much information and even had to call someone else for help, to no avail. For a place with so many unique drinks and desserts, I would've loved to hear more about what I was ordering. Nothing really wowed me this visit, but they have so many interesting drinks that I'd definitely come back and work my way through the menu. 7.5/10.
