The manager Anthony busts his rear to keep the place clean, and take care of the renters. One time on a Sunday around6am, I went to see if they were open cause I needed to pick up some stuff, and there was Anthony, cleaning trash up on the site...on a Sunday, early morning. Gotta love it. Plus, if there is a problem they take care of it right away. This is just my experience, but if you ask me, this is the best experience I have had with any storage facility in many years and many different places.

The kind folks at Autotronics gave me a ride to Dave's. Even though Dave's front desk rental person was not there, Dave worked hard to remember his system so that I could rent a car and get underway. Dave and Kyle were so sweet and worked to get me the right car. He had received a fleet of brand new Highlanders that afternoon and hadn't even set them all up for rental. I really needed a hitch for my bike rack and he and Kyle got it ready to rent for me. Not to mention, Dave has a huge, funny, and warm personality. I couldn't be more grateful. Recently rented a piece of equipment from Rental Guys for a week with a friend of mine. The charge…read morefor the equipment was $949.62, we paid in full and were on our way. Well two days later, no phone call or notification the account was charged an additional $309.25. Questioning it we called and were given the run around about trailer rental and discounts. This doesn't sit well with me, after all we agreed on a price for the week and paid in full. We did not authorize the additional charge because we were unaware of it. They just decided let's make them pay a little more without even a phone call. Here we are today, we returned the equipment and were provided a receipt. There was a break down on the receipt with all the equipment rented totaling $949.62 (the agreed upon amount. Then there was a flat charge for the $309.25, yep you guessed it, no break down, nothing about trailer discounts or equipment rented, no explanation at all just a charge. With some argument they refunded part of the charge (not all) because they said the manager was out sick. Long story short, I do not recommend Rental Guys, they will just charge you more without a written break down or real explanation of why. Terrible way to do business.

I am happy in every way with the service and facilities that Extra Space Storage provided. After reading the very positive reviews for this facility, I decided to check it out in person when I was back in Sacramento for a brief visit (before my permanent move back). The location was not only super-convenient for where I was going to be, I instantly liked the staff, the brightness of the buildings, and the cleanliness of the units. I didn't sign a contract right away, and went back to Northern Virginia. However, once I made the decision to go with Extra Space, I was able to go to a nearby location in Northern Virginia to complete all the paperwork, and get my unit here in Sacramento secured. Fast forward to my move from the East Coast -- Jenna and Sean were super-accommodating, and allowed me to park a long-ish trailer inside the gates overnight, before the moving company came back to pick it up the next day. No attitude, no if's and but's -- just very eager to work with me. I ended up renting the unit for about 5 months, and every time I called or stopped by to visit, Jenna and Sean were friendly, professional, and helpful. When I finally gave notice that I was moving out, the process was very simple too. We decided on a date, and that was it. No hassle and no billing problems. The facility was always brightly lit inside and out. I liked the fact that the air-conditioned level required a security code for access, which gave me an extra sense of security. As other folks have noted, there are multiple carts in front of the elevators to help ease any move you are making. And I cannot emphasize enough the cleanliness aspect, which other folks have talked about as well. I was in and out of my unit quite regularly, and the entire time, I never saw a single bug. Not even a spider. In fact, I went and asked Jenna how they managed to achieve that on the day I moved out of the unit. Believe me, bugs are a deal-breaker for me, and I would not have allowed my stuff to be in a unit for 5 months if I thought there was a bug issue. Extra Space has mastered the art of making it easy and pleasant to do business with them, and I will not hesitate to recommend Extra Space to other folks, particularly this Sunrise location.

I'm extremely disappointed in the ongoing rate manipulation and lack of transparency at Extra Space…read moreStorage. When we moved into our unit in January 2024, we were paying $70.60. Just four months later, our rate was increased to $124.60. Then, in January 2025, we received yet another massive increase to $249.20--more than triple our original rate within a single year. I expressed my concerns in a review at the time, and the manager, Kristina, reached out and offered a different unit on a higher floor for $89.60. While the move was inconvenient, we accepted in good faith and I removed my negative review, believing the issue had been fairly addressed. Now, just three months later in April, our rate has already been raised again--this time to $162.60. I called on 4/14 and was told I'd hear back within 48 hours. I never received a follow-up. When I called again on 4/18, I was told the best available rate was $136.60. This is an unacceptable business practice. If a rate increase was already anticipated, it should have been disclosed at the time we agreed to move units. Instead, we were led to believe we'd secured a more stable rate, only to be hit with another steep increase almost immediately. It feels predatory and deeply lacking in transparency. We're now stuck deciding whether to move yet again in the near future--something that is stressful, inconvenient, and frankly unfair to be dealing with so soon after our last move. I would strongly caution others to think twice before storing anything here, unless you're prepared for frequent, unannounced rate hikes and minimal communication.
