I purchased a Groupon for a Brazilian wax last Friday and promptly made my appointment for Saturday. I arrived and was warmly greeted, so I assumed all was well. It had been a minute since my last waxing service, but I did not think much of it. The aesthetician began waxing me and while doing so, a few remarks indicating that people with Groupons make her work so much harder and all of that jazz were made. She began my wax and everything seemed to be going fine. I knew it was going to be a tad bit painful, but nothing out of the ordinary. The wax was a nice temperature and the process was swift. She did not go back in and tweeze any strays or anything. Fast forward to me getting home: I noticed that I had a lot of skin missing down there which turned into scabs a day later. I have never had that happen to me ever. I am not too pleased and I won't be returning. I am also experiencing breakouts which hurt and are unsightly. I recently moved back to Chicago after 6 years and this place was the closest to my house and since I needed a wax so last minute, I just went there. 1. She was so sweet and right away made me feel comfortable because she was able to fit me into her schedule so last minute. 2. I had a Brazilian and an underarm wax and both were excellent! I don't leave many reviews, that is, until I find *really standout service. Nataliya has truly been a blessing for my skin, specifically for Brazilian waxing. Just to give a little background, I spent 2 YEARS visiting different waxing salons and/or trying a different person at a salon I already used. I did this every month. Ever get waxed, you leave and run your hand over your skin and it feels as if the hair shaft broke halfway down so then it feels as if you have shaved a week ago because the hair is literally that long? I've had the top few layers of skin burned then ripped off, left with long rectangular red bleeding patches just because the person waxing me didn't want to say they just got done melting the wax and haven't had a chance to turn it down before waxing me. I didn't think putting on wax and pulling it off was such an artform. After two years, I was willing to pay nearly anything for just a smooth, Brazilian wax which I was technically paying for every month anyway. I really needed to be waxed because my sensitive skin develops terrible razor rash which turns into infected hair follicles. I really, really needed to find someone. Enter Nataliya. She has since moved and started her business after leaving Juko, which, by the way, is THEE best nail salon in Chicago (really, check their reviews!). I've been waxed by Nataliya for about 4-5 years now. There's NEVER a *single* hair left unwaxed, never patches of hair left broken half down the hair shaft so it feels like week old stubble. Her prices are waaaayyyyy less than any salon I had been to before, plus she's the most talented out of them all! I almost don't want to share a review and let the secret out, but she damn well deserves the review. No matter where I seemed to go, I could not manage to find someone I could see myself committing to. Enter Nataliya, whom I first went to for a Brazilian a few years ago while she was working for another salon, and I couldn't be happier with her. Not only is she absolutely lovely, she's very kind with a warm and welcoming demeanor, but she works so quickly that it seems effortless. She truly has a magical way of making what would typically feel like an unnecessarily awkward and painful situation, into a walk in the park- as the old adage goes. **Fair warning, this may be a bit much as well as a bit uncouth: I can get quite *ahem*... unruly if you catch my drift & it's nice not feeling like I've gotten hit in the crotch with a baseball bat after getting a wax. Nothing has ever looked dirty or unsanitary, and I've never had to worry about 'double dipping.' I am severely immunocompromised and there has never been anything that made me want to run screaming in the other direction. Even after moving to the suburbs I won't see anyone else. She's just that great. I actually made the mistake of that once while she was on vacation, and I'm pretty sure it was after that experience that I vowed to follow her to the ends of the earth, silently to myself, in order to keep my crazy under wraps. I've tried literally a dozen different waxing salons and until now never found one that I love . I was a serial groupon user because I couldn't find my waxing home and have horror stories that I won't get into.
