I usually don't give a one star unless someone pisses me off or did something not reasonable nor acceptable. This is my second time going to see Lora for a facial treatment. We made this second appointment which is on 8/26 at 11 am a MONTH ago. When I arrived right on time this morning, I saw another customer was arriving and she told me her appointment was supposed to be at 10:15, but Lora told her to come back at 11:00. So we went in and Lora was very calm and expected to see both us. She looked at me and start to ask me, "Can't you wait? Or come back at a later time". I simply could not because I had all the other stuff planned today and I do not think this is an acceptable response to push back my appointment because she messed up the schedule. Also, if she already knew that at 10:15 am she needed to push back another client's appointment, she could have called me at that time and ask me to come back at another time. At least that way, I don't need to waste time and effort to come right on time - But she did not. I was very frustrated so she started to ask me what she can do to help me feel better - I thought oh that's a very nice gesture, at least now you care about your customers. So I thought about it and asked her to give me a discount. Guess what she said back to me? She goes " OH LADY, DON'T PUSH ME TOO HARD" Me:"....." - Isn't giving a discount the most common way of making up the mistake you made??? So I told her I am not going to have the spa anymore, you are a ridiculous person and she was like "DO YOU GET ANY OTHER OPTIONS?" OMG can you feel her arrogance now? Besides the fact that she is very rude (to me at least) and she doesn't respect her client's time, the spa environment sucks. She has a price of doing one facial of $300 marked on Groupon, but then through the deal it's lowered to around $100-$120. Though Groupon's deal price can be misleading, you would expect this place to be a decent spa place with all the good reviews on Yelp and Groupon. Nope - this spa is in a tiny room at the back of some sort of wellness recovery gym, which seemed very sketchy to me. I also don't think the door can be locked. I will say Lora gave me a decent first time spa and that's why I decided to go back (also because I have not been to many spa places in Chicago yet); however, I do not think it's worth the price with this location/utilities and the fact that Lora has a really bad attitude because now I think about it, she did NOT apologize to me at all... and almost made me feel I was the one asking too much. read more

The space was a little hard to find but with a quick call to her I was able to figure it out. Lora made me feel like a new woman after a rough couple of months. When I visited Lora I was getting over a breakup and she made me feel pretty and her conversation made me laugh. It helped so much. My skin glowed and she even removed a skin bump I'd had for a while that I thought would be a permanent nuisance. I know she runs deals online but I also know she will give you the same discounted price if you call her directly. Try her out! read more

Traveling for business and in need of some major pampering, I found Lora on Google and her location was near me in bucktown. I booked an appointment easily for the same day. I'm big on beauty treatments and very skeptical of trying new ppl with my skincare. Lora was very friendly and informative on her services and helped me plan a regimen for my face. Long story short I fell in love with her treatments and products and now I fly to Chicago from San Diego for her to take care of my face. She is always learning about new treatments and keeping me up to date with the best products. Microblading is my new favorite addiction and she's absolutely amazing!!! read more

I'm bummed to write this bad review because Lora seemed very nice. The first time I came in for a dermaplaning apt, everything went fine. It took all of ten minutes. When I came in a second time, I heard Lora say "oh no!" as she swiped the scalpel across my nose. She had sliced off a piece of skin right in the middle of my face. She said "no worries, it will scab over." It wasn't until I got up the table that I saw how bad it was and boy, did it scab over. I had a very noticeable chunk of skin missing from my face. I know it was an accident but it's been 4 weeks and now I'm dealing with scar care. To give her an opportunity to recover herself, I texted her about ways to help scarring as skincare is important to me (hence why I was spending so much on dermaplaning.) I have yet to receive a response from her. read more

I went to the Spa by Lora today for a Photo facial. I was greeted right at the door and felt very comfortable at once. The owner and the assistant were so friendly. Lora, the owner, gave my skin a full analysis and gave advice on how to take care of it on a daily basis. I didn't realize I was doing so many things wrong including using wrong products for my skin type. I could tell she has a lot of experience and her skin looks amazing, so I could tell that she knows her stuff:) The photo facial was not painful, a sensation of warmth and a bit tingling, but my skin felt tighter and looked lighter right after the session, I was impressed, so I bought 5 more sessions to complete the treatment. This is my second time with Lora, I love checking out places through Groupons and that's where I found Lora. I was impressed of the first treatment that I had from her .. chemical peels , mask and IPL . Now she asked me if I want facial so she can take care of the bumps under the skin which has been bothering me for years and she did a good job removing the bumps then she did couple of mask followed by laser ... my skin feels rejuvenated and started to see results. She is a very nice accommodating lady and she is very knowledgeable of what she's doing. I also brought my adopted daughter who is suffering from bad acne, she took care of her problem and introduced her the products that she is using, my daughter skin started to look better after just couple of days ...
