Very rude people. I rented a house through this company. When they went to check the house, my wife was pregnant and couldn't walk quickly after them, they even looked into the bedside tables where my wife's underwear was. Which they had no right to do. I am very disappointed in my experience with applying for a property backed by People's Real Estate firm; specifically with the horrible individual Lisa Brannon. I was highly pro-active applying immediately withing the hour of the property posting on Aug 1; I was the first tenant to apply, first to send my proof of income, first to send the required tenant employment verification and rental history forms. As an out-of-state mover, they agreed to video call me for the viewing; the viewing was scheduled for 2p the next day and I was called at 2:09p. Viewing went great, immediately after the call concluded I followed up with the property office to pay the application fee which they only take in-person or via phone. I left two voicemails during their business hours and did not receive a call back. Upon inquiring why I was not offered the rental first, Lisa replied 'they first tenants to view the space paid the application fee first.' Lisa then added 'Applications are not considered complete until, application has been submitted, you have seen the property and paid the fee.' So because I was called 9 minutes after the chosen initial tenants viewing, and no one returned my call, I was not selected for the property. I was more than communicative and proactive with the brokers and during numerous conversations Lisa failed to provide their 'selection contingencies' until I inquired for further details. Joe being the one showing the property to us he was extremely disrespectful, refusing to answer any questions and not welcoming at all..he made us feel very uncomfortable in the home almost felt as if he didn't want us there I even complimented the property and he completely ignored me. Would not recommend renting from People's Real Estate. Lisa Brannon is a particularly unsavory individual. She is rude, she is unprofessional, and she is morally bankrupt. My fiancé and I moved into a duplex in Enumclaw at the end of Sep 2022. Everything looked okay on the surface, but once we moved in the problems started. This has been our experience: 1. The first issue was that all of the cable/internet lines had been cut prior to our move-in. My fiancé works from home, so this caused quite an inconvenience for her as she had to scramble and work from coffee shops and the library for a week until we could get a vendor out here to install new lines.This repair should have done before we received keys. 2. The second issue was our shower. The cold faucet could not be turned fully off, which meant the water would continue to drip long after the water had been turned off. There was also no shower curtain rod installed prior to our move-in, which meant we had to do that. Minor thing, but still annoying. A work order was placed to make the needed repair. No appointment was made for this repair and a maintenance person showed up at our door without the legally required 48-hour notice of entry. 3. The third issue was the microwave, which was wired on the same circuit as the oven and living room lights. Because microwaves and refrigerators draw so much power these items are generally on a dedicated circuit. Because it was not wired properly the power would go out every time the microwave and lights were being used at the same time. A work order was placed to make the needed repair. No appointment was made for this repair and a maintenance person showed up at our door without the legally required 48-hour notice of entry. 4. The fourth issue is our backyard fence, which has fallen down multiple times because the fence posts weren't cemented into the ground when initially installed. We have gone more than a month without our dogs being able to use the backyard we are paying for because the neighbor dog (who is larger than our dogs) runs around our yard. The fence was just fixed this past week (although again without the required 48-hour notice of entry), but I bring it up as another example of a landlord who clearly cuts corners and who is too cheap to do things properly. 5. The fifth and most egregious issue: Trying to alter the lease mid-lease. My fiancé and I are planning to move home to CA. I reached out to our management company to ask if we can negotiate a lease-break. Our contract calls for us to be rent-responsible through the end of our lease (Aug 31, 2023) or until another party re-rents the home. This is fine. No issue with this. The problem came when Lisa contacted me stating there would also be a re-keying fee of $130 and that we would also be charged a half month of our rent rate as a "Re-renting fee." This is why I am upset. I have worked in property management for 12 years and I am very well versed in property management law and contracts. These two items were NOT specified in our lease agreement, and are therefore unenforceable. I brought this to Lisa'a attention and even stated if I am mistaken to please point to the section of our signed lease agreement where we acknowledged this policy. Lisa could not point to this section because these policies are not specified on the lease agreement. Lisa then threatened me with legal action for pointing out that these items need to be specified in the contract if she wishes to enforce it. Lisa stated "We can go to court if you'd like to. Been there, done that." You know what Lisa? I've also "been there and done that" and I know the law. I will happily appear in court if only for the satisfaction of watching the King County court admonish Lisa for her illegal business practices. Avoid the headache and don't rent from these people. In fact the only positive thing I can say is that the office manager Lindsay is very helpful and polite. You're too good for that place Lindsay. We live in a community where Real People Estate manages our HOA. I decided to use the company for my rental property. My main contact is Lisa and for the 8 months I have been working with her, I am very satisfied from a homeowner's point of view. It is really sad to see how people consider Lisa rude. I have to say with the amount of work this company handles, I didn't expect a format business type of email/letter. However, Lisa has always reachable by email, phone or text. She is definitely very straight forward, but that is also how I prefer. She tries her best to protect the owners' rights. Afterall, it's at least a half million dollar asset one is letting someone stay in it, and with the current WA tenant laws, it is pretty one-sided. Lisa tried her best to ensure we rent it to tenants with qualifying income and good paying history, DISREGARDING race, marital status, etc. The HOA of my property actually emailed Lisa raising their concerns about the "family status" of the tenant. Lisa right away quoted them the related laws to ensure the tenants were treated fairly. Did Lisa upset someone in HOA? Definitely, but I think that was the right thing to do. Regarding billing and maintenance, I think Lisa is also fair. There was a bill I forgot to send and was charged a late fee. Lisa told me right away that she can ask the tenant to pay the utility but not the late fee, very fair. The stove broke down, Lisa contacted me right away, told me the stove is 10+ years old and it maybe better to get a new one, sent me models with size that will fit, with a moderate price range. Also gave me the option on payment method (they can pay and rebill, or I can purchase myself). I really like working with Lisa and her company. read more

Rude, callous and uncommunicative. I was told several times that "we could rent your home to a family for much more" upon renewing the lease- just because they didn't like a married couple in a 4 bedroom home. THIS IS DISCRIMINATION. Also, David tried to break my door down to do an inspection THAT WAS RESCHEDULED. Terrible management style. As renters know, you must return the place in good and clean condition but these people want you to professionally clean the place just for them to take your deposit, and have it re cleaned. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. They pulled up because I need access to reset power by toggling the breaker at the electric meter. They don't have the key. I have had continuous issues with this property management team. So the property manager and his wife arrive to provoke to get me on camera being frustrated with them. They never tell me when to expert repairs to be fixed. They have sent 5 different contractors to fix the broken heaters over 3 months and all are still broken. I made an appointment to meet an agent at a property in Renton. After about 10 minutes after the time the agent was supposed to arrive, I called their office only to find out the agent was late and it would be some time before she could come out and the person who answered the phone said she was "just" looking up my phone number to call me to let me know!! I thought that was so unprofessional and it made me feel as if I was unimportant to them. I understand that people can find themselves in a situation where they miss appointments, but it was inconsiderate of my time and my gas to not make the appropriate effort to notify me. The lady who was supposed to meet me should have known at least 30 minutes, even 15 minutes earlier that she would not make the appointment and someone should have called me. I decided that I would not want to work with anyone from that office. read more

First of all, we are not upset with the judges decision, we won the case- you didn't. The judgement goes against your business...Second, you keep mentioning the "dead grass", but with that $1,000 you took from us, you did nothing to the grass! If we would have taken before and after photos, we would have won the ENTIRE deposit back, and you know that. And lastly, you are saying that I should have given YOU the courtesy to call the office about a check the judge ordered you to pay??? You have had 30 days to pay, and 38 days later still no payment...You didn't give us the decency to grant our request to be present at the walk out, nor did you give us a heads up AFTER the walk out. The way you treat people is horrible. Moral of the story: I am not one to "blast" someone on social media, hence my first Yelp review ever, but if anyone is currently in a lease with People's Property Management, make sure you document EVERYTHING!!! People's Real Estate has been my property management company for my rental for 4 years. They are very knowledgeable about rental laws and they do a great job renting out my property. They do excellent background checks and always keep the rental property rented. I've never had more than 3 days without a tenant in my property. They are very responsive if you have any questions about anything. The reports are very detailed every month leaving very little questions. Online access to you account gives you a complete look at everything going on with your property. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a responsible management team! They take the sting out of having rental property for sure! read more

Stay away form them. They managed our house in WA for 4 years for us. At the end of the contract, they handed off the house to us in the horrible condition with many damages and full of filth, including pet feces and stains on the carpet, which, by the way, having pets was against the rental agreement, and they knew the tenant had pets all along. They only gave us the fraction of the security deposit back, which was not even close to how much we need to repair the damages. When we expressed the displeasure of the situation, they immediately shifted the responsibility to the tenant and said they had nothing to do with us anymore because the contract had ended already. read more

Horrible management company I rented a home from them for 2 years anytime they had an issue with me weeds in yard excetera I got a 10-day notice to comply rather than a phone call like a normal human being would do anytime I had a problem with the home that needed fixed it was a two to three months minimum to get it done and it was fixed with the cheapest materials possible and with random people that they just hired that did not know what they were doing they also have someone drive by your property once a month and snap pictures and they do a walk-through every 6 months we never had any complaints on any walkthroughs and then at the end they made up numbers so that they kept my deposit to the penny I would not recommend this company to anybody not even my enemies there's lots of other real estate agents out there steer clear of these ones read more

I would give a ZERO rating if it would let me. We were living in CA, but being transferred home to the Seattle area. Had a good friend in the area do the tour for us, and FaceTime'd with us during that tour. Several things were addressed to Joe Brannon, who said most of them would be taken care of, some not. I drove up here from CA, arrived at the house at 8:30am for the walk through at 9. Walked the outside of the house, and immediately started seeing things that concerned me. Agent arrived at 9, told me I had an hour to go through the SIXTY + Property Condition Report and sign off or make comments. My second bad feeling! At the hour mark, she came back in; I hadn't even finished the upstairs! This report was a complete cluster, went from one room upstairs to one downstairs, back up, on and on . . The house was a disaster; not one wall was painted, there were literally hundreds of nails, screws, holes, stains, drips. The hall and bedroom carpets smelled strongly of dog/urine. It had not been cleaned; debris in cupboards, under the fridge, cobwebs, pubic hair in the bathrooms, previous occupant's items throughout. They say it was cleaned, but if so, it was the worst job ever. The carpets were vacuumed, but NOT cleaned. Several life safety issues; outlets on kitchen counters are not gfci protected, top outlets not wired correctly, one outlet that isn't even hooked up; hardwood floors that are warped/torn/sharp edges; trellis structure outside is going to fall over with the next strong wind. Their response - you rented 'as is'! NOTHING in the lease says AS IS, just references the PCR. The only thing they are considering addressing are the outlets. I HAVE tracked down the Owner, and asked him if he was aware of the condition of the place. Waiting to hear back from him. PRE is definitely an owner friendly company, but do not really care about the residents. I think they get a flat fee from the owners, and any maintenance needed comes out of that, so naturally they will do anything, regardless of how nefarious it it to keep their $$. Bottom line - stay away from them! read more

I had a really good relationship with this company. Joe, Lisa, and Dara were all very helpful and respectful. When the owner of the property wanted to sell I hoped to rent with them again. Unfortunately they did not have a property that would fit. I did find a nice place. My experience was they were very fair and accommodating. They have to be fair to the renter and the property owner. Peoples Property Management and Real Estate is run by a couple who do not communicate with each other or their tenants. In the 9 months we have been in one of their properties we have had multiple maintenance issues that were seemingly mundane until we contacted our landlords who made the situations stressful and inconvenient. They attempt to charge us for everything, such as spraying for bugs caused by own downstairs neighbors and maintenance cancellation fees for outside contractors when the landlord made the appointment without consulting us. They have repeated given short or no notice for arrival at our home and expect us to be okay with them entering our home when we are not present. We have expressly told our property management team that we would like to be present for all repairs unless it is an emergency. All in the all they are rude and uncooperative. They are unyielding and condescending. No fun. read more
