Tonya & Kate have been extremely rude & unprofessional in handling my emergency rental assistance, I am self employed and owed 6,800 through IDES both employees failed to have me do any questionnaire on what's the delay for the money & they never sent over the 1099 documents for the cash I've received to help get qualified for the grant. They have been dismissive, won't transfer me to the correct person or schedule an appointment to speak with a board member on why I can't receive a written response with detailed explanation on how we can't go further, Tonya constantly kept saying this was pending litigation & didn't ask any questions on the documents sent to her that showed that I have a large sum of money coming my way that will help me pay my rent from that point on, this grant is for emergencies & everything I sent was never looked at or questioned on the severity of the emergency read more

Great group of people helping those in need with a food pantry. Went online and placed my order and they boxed it up and brought out to my car today. They take donations as well for pet food and other home needs. I will use my rebates from menards and pick up some dog food that has a full rebate and donate. read more

We have been trying to make a food donation since Friday. Our organization had a food drive Friday night and Peoples Resource Center in Wheaton was to pick up Saturday morning. They were excited for our efforts and were going to come pick up the food, a check and take pictures etc. They never showed up and we have left several messages. Helps those who need it. This place isn't for homeless people, it's for people having a hard time staying in their home. People who are recently unemployed, single mothers, people who have relocated to the area with dire situations, you get the picture. This facility is fairly new. They have a food kitchen, clothing, books and offer computer classes and English as a second language class. They have a huge amount of volunteers and that's what makes this place tick. The people are top notch. This place had a very hopeful feel to it, hard to describe, but like this was just a jumpstart for people to get back on track. They have a website which describes their services and donation hours. Think of them next time you are doing spring cleaning or have a few extra hours to volunteer. read more

I helped a family in need and went with them to the Peoples Resource Center for the Food bank. Disgusting.... When I helped the family home and unpacked the food. It was all past date and rotten. The bananas were not edible, all the can food was out of date, the vegetables were rotten. I was disgusted. Families in need deserve fresh food also. I felt that they were giving out scraps to a bunch of dogs. As soon as I left the families house I called Dupage County and complained. I was told that they have received several complaints about the food and has told Peoples Resource about it. they said the problem is that they are volunteers and are not paying attention. I hope they clean up their act because the looks on the children's hungry faces count on them. read more

People's Resource Center is organized to respond to people in need in DuPage County in a comprehensive and effective manner. Now there are locations in Westmont and Wheaton. I have been a volunteer off and on since 1996 and am so very proud to be part of this outstanding organization whose dedicated staff are professional and resourceful. They have been led by some visionary and inspiring leaders such as, Mary Ellen Durbin and Kim Perez. Service delivery systems are effective and efficient. ( Am not sure what Winchester is complaining about! ) All are treated with dignity, compassion and respect. There is a commitment to continuous improvement to meet the needs of low income people, such as the new facility in Westmont. Unlike some other organizations, I never feel like my efforts are wasted. Volunteers are treated with respect and given the necessary training to succeed. Having worked in social services for over 30 years, I could not be more impressed by the way the mission of PRC is fulfilled by its staff, volunteers and community partners! read more

I have used the Peoples Resource center for a variety of reasons and I fail to have any complaints about it. I am happy it is there for people like me to use when in need. I took the computer classes and learned alot from the instructors and was very thankful they were there to teach people like me how to use a computer. I felt very blessed to know the people at the Peoples Resource Center and wish them good luck in the tuture. read more

The People's Resource Center is just that; a resource for all kinds of people with all kinds of problems. Need a computer? Come take a class and receive a refurbished one. Clothes? there is a clothes closet. Food is provided much like a grocery store. One picks out what is needed rather than being handed a box. There is job assistance, a literacy program for ESL and help with GED, There is even an art program to foster your creativity. Social services are available from a competent and caring staff. The staff and volunteers are truly concerned about the problems faced by those who walk in the door. Come take a look and see for yourself. read more
