Stan's Bar and Grille is attached but they weren't open when we were there. Out front they had business flyers advertising services like cakes to photos for events. Do not book a room at this hotel if it is a busy weekend. Reservations do not ensure a room... they…read moreoperate on a first come, first served philosophy. The hotel will overbook, leaving you without a room unless you are able to arrive at the front desk at exactly check in time. They will not inform you that there is no room for you until it's too late to make other arrangements. Their solution will be to pay for you to stay at another hotel in another town, 45 min away. However, they will still put a hold on your card and try to charge you for the room. I was alerted after 9:30PM, when I was minutes from the hotel, that they didn't have a room available for me and my child. The staff couldn't understand why I didn't want to drive 45 min to another hotel in hopes that they'd have a room for me. The manager gave me several different stories about how this "error" happened. There is another review posted that's very similar to my experience so this was not an "accidental" situation, but rather, common practice for this establishment. So book here at your own risk!

To make a long…read morestory short after several attempts to contact the owners to no avail we were given a passive agressive response and continued to have our questions ignored. We had given this venue a $750 deposit, so I believe we are entitled to find out simple things, such as the size of the tables. Yet, the owners felt different and cancelled my contract after 6 months and left me scrambling to find a venue. There was no explanation for the cancellation and they refused to answer my emails or pick up their phone. Thus, we resorted to trying to contact them on FB. After posting on their FB page we received contacts from several brides dealing with the same situation or complaining how their wedding was handled by the Mother and Daughter running the place. In fact, I actually contacted the better business bureau to help resolve the complaint, but to no surprise, they didn't respond to that complaint and have been given a "F" by the BBB. Please save yourself the headache this venue will give you.

I just can't explain to you how wonderful it was to know that my venue was 100% taken care of in every way possible. Guests were not allowed to come back, not even for a dinner roll. We had 30 guests that we paid for who did not show up. We should have had more than enough food and then some. At the end of the reception we were told that there were leftovers, but we could not have them. He made up an excuse about not allowing us to take them unless we had coolers. A relative who lived nearby left and quickly returned with several coolers 10 minutes later, and he informed us that he had gotten rid of the food! His staff was seen leaving that night with styrofoam food containers! Also, do NOT think that you will get your initial deposit back. You will not. We had a very well-behaved and respectful group of people, and we were very respectful of their facilities. He and his wife found ways to add on extra charges and nickel and dime over half of our deposit away. I can't tell you how disappointed we were with our experience! The owner was quite friendly before we signed with them. He did a wonderful job of selling himself in the beginning, but was so incredibly rude the night of the reception. I would never book another event with these people. The owners are not honest people and seriously lack integrity!
