Service was slow, which we understand on a busy night, though we only ended up having one server instead of two as we were originally told. A drink menu was not given to us to begin with, so we had to ask. Specials also weren't told to us without having to ask. The food was tasty overall, but inconsistent. Some steaks ordered the same way came out overcooked. Also, we were never offered dessert or told about the dessert menu, which was unfortunate since it was a birthday celebration. Twenty is a restaurant located inside Wabash, Indiana's Charley Creek Inn, a 1920's historic landmark restored to all its wonder and glory and now existing as a hotel, restaurant, and with multiple other features in the downtown area of Wabash. Twenty is a mostly brunch/dinner establishment. It leans toward finer dining, however, definitely also maintains a smalltown vibe. The cuisine is definitely finer than you might expect in a smaller town - Wabash isn't really that small with a population of 10,000+. Twenty has the same historic aura as the Charley Creek Inn with period decor that leans into comfortably cultured. The menu consists of brunch, small plates, salads, soups, handhelds, finer entrees, an extensive wine menu, and much more. There's also a fairly strong dessert menu. The party I was with included respected local residents and Twenty seems ideal for both family gatherings and businesses lunches. There's a hint of pretentious in the air, though the smalltown vibe keeps it from becoming suffocating. I enjoyed this experience quite a bit. Our server, whose name I never got, was friendly and helpful throughout (and professional even when becoming a tad concerned about one party member who may have had just a wee bit too much wine). Discretion was on the menu and respect was offered throughout. I ordered fish and chips, not exactly fine dining but what I was in the mood for after a long day on nearby trails. While not the best I've had, it was quite good and I would easily order it again. Iced tea refills flowed freely and the atmosphere was both comfortable and dignified and allowed for conversation despite a steady buzz of noise. Pricing is consistent for a modestly finer dining experience, though one could easily transition into fine dining here if ordering steaks, salmon, and wine. I could easily see this being a fancy date night. For the most part, things are accessible here - I did not visit the restroom. Wabash experienced some significant funding from a grant and included extensive accessibility upgrades in its downtown improvements. It shows. Twenty does offer lunch specials and also a children's menu. I would advise checking its website for the full menu and hours. I was originally scheduled to stay at Charley Creek, however, this historic hotel didn't have an accessible room at the time (I appreciated their honesty) and I stayed at another nearby hotel option. I'm glad I at least got to have dinner here and would love to return in the future. read more

The food is amazing! The salmon was perfectly cooked. The salad was so fresh and healthy! The breakfast was cooked to order and wonderful. The coffee service was great too. We love staying at the Charlie Creek Inn and can dine in their restaurant located in the lobby. The staff is always friendly and professional too. I like sitting by the window and looking across the street at the historic Eagles Theater while we dine. Lots of childhood memories!!! I also order coffee from room service when cones from this restaurant and it was fancy! I love dining here! What a lovely place in my little home town. Nicest restaurant in town! read more

Popped in on a Friday night to check the place out, and was pretty impressed. I sat at the bar (as I usually do when dining alone) and the bartender (Joe, as I recall) was attentive and engaging. As a former bartender myself I enjoy talking shop, and we talked about local brews, wines, liquors, interesting drink recipes, etc. I was the only one sitting at the bar, but I'm confident that he would have been just as engaging with a full rail. I only had a glass of wine and a cup of their French onion soup, but was quite happy with that. Their soup is made with veal stock, which means it's a bit lighter than the traditional, which is made with beef stock, but it was very pleasant and tasty. At one point, the host/manager came over to ask if everything was OK, and I assured him it was. Always nice to know that management is concerned about their guests' experiences. As a result, I went back a couple of days later and treated myself to a birthday brunch of Eggs Benedict and a mimosa. My server, Jordan, was a delight. Very pleasant, engaging and always around when I needed her. If I'm in town long enough, I'll probably visit again and explore even more of their menu. Based on my two experiences thus far, I'm confident in saying you should give them a try if you're in search of good food in more upscale surroundings. We arrived early with dinner reservations, as we had tickets to Three Dog Night. We checked in and found out they had given our table away! It took another half hour to seat us. When we finally got our meals, the med-rare filet came out well done! The parmesan encrusted walleye was way overcooked and dry. The maple Brussel sprouts were NOT maple, just Brussels. We were lucky we made the show in time. For the money it cost, along with the time we were delayed, I would normally suggest passing on this restaurant. However, I believe this was probably a fluke, and eventually give them another chance. read more

We went to Twenty for the Mother's Day buffet, 4 adults, a 5 year old and a 2 month old. Our server, Julie was very attentive. The buffet was well stocked, lots of choices and everything tasted great although some at the table didn't care for the sausage gravy. The picky 5 year old was happy so that's a plus. The only cons would be the price which we knew when we made the reservation, and the lack of any bread/rolls. When I got home I noticed my card had been charged $12 extra for a small milk and a soft drink, for $32 per person those could have been included. read more

Guess who is coming back here for every meal in Wabash, IN?! This guy. All catching openings aside, not only is the hotel phenomenal, a wine and cheese shop built in, but the Charle Creek Inn has a brilliant restaurant also. Twenty gave me a very comfortable, yet upscale vibe as my friend and I met for an early dinner. I started with a glass of wine and contemplated an appetizer, but looking over the steak portion of the menu, we decided to pass. My colleague chose the filet and I the delmonico. We both started with a salad which was spot on, but the real fun was the main course. My fontina mashed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment to the steak (which I ordered blackened with blue cheese crumbles). My steak was cooked perfectly and they weren't shy on the blue cheese (see picture). I was pleasantly surprised with the side of sautéed bean sprouts and kale (?) which I gobbled up. A welcome substation for the typical steamed vegetable that helped up level the meal a bit more. I've been in many small towns around the nation, so to find a gem like Twenty (let alone the Inn itself) nestled downtown makes the trip all the better. Thanks to these experiences I'm eager to return to Wabash, IN and look forward to my stay at the Charle Creek Inn. read more

I'll preface this by saying I have been to this restaurant on several occasions previously for both brunch and lunch. All experiences were pleasant with friendly waitstaff and decent food but nothing exceptional. This review is for dinner. I dined there last Friday around 5:30. I was by myself and I just wanted a quiet meal. The hostess was able to accommodate me by putting me in a more secluded part of the restaurant. I had a house salad and filet mignon. The salad was standard but very fresh. It came with a bread basket. As I am not much of a bread person, I usually would have abstained. However, the basket included mini pretzel rolls. The salad and rolls were a good start. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, to my liking. The filet mignon was accompanied by creamed corn and BBQ carrots. The corn was standard but the carrots were very good and I'm not much of a cooked carrot person. Also, I liked how the accompaniments didn't include a potato selection. I'm not a fan of the whole steak and potato thing. I had a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and a glass of cabernet sauvignon to drink. The only hiccup in my meal was I had asked for an aviation cocktail and the bar didn't have all the ingredients. My delicious martini made up for it, though. Cass was my server and she was very attentive as was the busser/water server. I was excited to finally have the opportunity to have dinner at Twenty and it did not disappoint. read more

My wife and I recently had the occasion to eat at Twenty. We were looking forward to the experience until it happened. The service was absolutely terrible and the food was basically inedible. My wife prefers her steak well done and had to send it back because it came to the table rare. After sending it back, it came back to the table basically the same. I requested A1 sauce for mine, which I rarely do. I was told by one of the busboys that the kitchen staff was laughing at me because I ordered A1. I didn't see the humor in it. I only ordered the A1 only because whomever was in the kitchen couldn't cook an edible steak. We couldn't eat our meals and mentioned it our wait staff. They were like, oh well. We brought the steaks home to feed our animals. It was a $125 lesson that won't happen again. read more

I came into town with my mom and took her to Twenty for brunch on Mother's Day weekend. We were seated right away, greeted by our waitress, and received our coffee right away. Smooth tasting and always being topped off by our waitress, is the best coffee to have. We ordered the grilled salmon, French onion soup side Cesar salad, the grilled cheese featuring goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes, and a side Roman salad with the dill balsamic dressing. All wonderful and a slight change of pace for brunch choices. Staff was on top of their game and we weren't made to feel rushed on a busy weekend for them. Celebrated my Moms 90 th here with a party of 8 on a Sunday at 11:30. My 3rd time here and was a bit disappointed in the service as it took us over an hour to get our food, after several apologies that they had run out of some items on our orders. Once we got our food it was delicious and reasonably priced. Will return on our next trip to town but maybe not on a Sunday!!! It is a lovely venue in the Charlie Creek Inn. read more

So...let me start with..the food is phenomenal. Every time my boyfriend and I dine here we have had just excellent food and drinks. However, the wonderful food is overshadowed by the service. We have dined here three times. The first time our server was great. Younger guy, mentioned he was a hospitality major in school. If I remembered his name I would request him from now on. The second and third times were both the same. We get sat at a table. Sit for about fifteen minutes without being greeted. Finally have our drink orders taken. I understand that with one bartender, the drinks may take a while. But both times we waited for another twenty minutes before the drinks were brought out. (I suggest stopping by the table and mentioning the drinks may be a minute, but taking our meal orders while we wait) So we get drinks, and have our food orders taken, and after a reasonable time get our meals. After receiving our meals, we do not get checked on until it's time to get our checks. We both would have ordered additional drinks and made the restaurant more money. The second visit, they were out of the steak my boyfriend wanted, which we can easily overlook because it's a business and we understand. But the poor service needs to be addressed. This makes me so sad because like I said, the food and cocktails are absolutely wonderful! But we now think twice before choosing this restaurant to eat. read more

This is a great restaurant in the historic Charley Creek Inn, downtown Wabash. I am a bit surprised by some poor reviews because we had a wonderful dining experience. We dined on filet and salmon as our main course. Both were deliciously prepared. French onion soup, salad and drinks were also great. Our server was very sweet and attentive and prices were very very reasonable, especially the cocktails. Breakfast was very nice the next morning. The menu has alot of variety from the traditional pancakes and sausage to avocado toast. The grits were an absolute standout. Service was a bit spotty for breakfast and their house made cinnamon rolls were massive but dry. I would absolutely eat here again if in the area. read more

The basil pesto, tomato jam, and Gruyere cheese worked in perfect harmony on the toasted brioche bread to provide a party on my palette! For dessert I chose the Kentucky Bourbon Pie, and was not disappointed in the pecans and chocolate with a splash of bourbon. This review is only for a Monday morning breakfast experience, and everything was great. Really large and diverse breakfast menu choices with all your traditional items, and several with a twist. I was impressed with the low prices and big portions, and nice interior (for the area anyway). The service was good, not great - but there are very few sit down restaurants in Wabash, so general serving experience for local young people is most likely minimal. She was really nice, forgot a few things but we were patient and it didn't diminish our experience in any way. Omelets are done well, the grits were creamy (very surprising!), and the toast was thick! I had the omellet that was smothered in sausage gravy - it was really good, and that toast was perfect to sop up all the goodness. I appreciated that everything seemed very non-greasy. The coffee was OK, but I wouldn't come here just for that. Overall though, I would definitely come again for breakfast and recommend it to anyone in the area. Locals seem to give this place a bad wrap, but I found the breakfast a better quality and somehow still cheaper than the other local breakfast restaurant everyone likes. read more

It's a new day in dining. My partner and I were traveling through the area and wanted a memorable dining experience. Between Logansport-Peru-Wabash corridor there were few options other than pizza and sandwich shops. Luckily for us, Twenty was open and serving great food. The restaurant is observing all proper protocol, down to servers wearing masks, socially distancing tables, and not having anything on the table that would have been touched by anyone else. All that said, the food and service was great. We had a wedge salad and the chicken pot pie soup for starters. Each were great. The soup was incredible, creamy and full of chicken meat and vegetables. Super start. We then moved on to shepherd's pie and shrimp pasta for our mains. Both were also delicious. This was accompanied by a nice bottle of red wine, a Cotes du Rhone from their good selection of wines by the bottle. My partner ordered a slice of what was to be the most amazing chocolate layer cake that he has had in a long time. Our server was gracious, as was the entire staff that evening. She wanted to be sure that we were comfortable with everything, yet was not the least bit intrusive. In that this was our first dinner experience in a restaurant since early March, it was reassuring to us that it is indeed possible to have excellent food AND observe proper health protocols. do my best to support local businesses, and in the midst of COVID, I appreciate the efforts that they have continued to make to allow us to still eat with Twenty. HOWEVER - if you are going to offer something, don't do it part way. I placed an online order. I work RIGHT NEXT DOOR, but had a call that I was going to be on so opted for delivery - PAID for delivery. About 20 mins after it should have been here, I called and they told me "oh I thought that was for carry-out" okay...well its not, and I paid for delivery so could you just bring it, please. 20 MORE mins pass and still no food. So I walk down - its not there, oh and by the way - you didn't get the order you asked for, because the system didn't charge you. You had my phone number, my email, and my place of work - you could have 1) called and asked for my card number to pay for the danged chicken or 2) AT THE VERY LEAST MAKE ME AWARE THAT I WASNT GETTING WHAT I ORDERED. As I'm standing in the lobby, now waiting to pick up my food, that I paid for to be delivered , AN HOUR LATER - the manager says "well what do you want me to do about it" If two friends hadn't walked in, in that moment - I would have just walked out. I did end up leaving with part of what I ordered - but the whole thing was just a giant dumpster fire. I can appreciate that you are short staffed, but if that's the case - do not offer certain services at that time. The sweet gal with blonde hair ( gosh I cant remember her name) she was SO overly helpful and embarrassed for everything happening. Its not her fault by any means - the whole thing was just INCREDIBLEY frustrating and I felt like I got an "oh well. Its new" attitude. I had "The special" a $25 dollar meal that was the worse quality than a middle school cafeteria . It was there Oktoberfest themed dinner with Breaded pork cutlet that was a frozen pork patty with a white gravy with some wine splashed in it, German potato salad of under cooked baby red potato with a vinegar type sauce. We had an appetizer of meatball spaetzle consisting of again frozen meat balls with a white gravy sauce with some mushroom chunks in it. My daughter was given Kraft mac n cheese. The pizza also looked like it came from the same lunch laddie. The issue was that $25 dollar special that was a $5 school lunch at best. Impressive food for a surprising hotel in an adorable little town. I was not as familiar with Wabash IN as I should have been. The food was very good with very fresh salads and sandwiches. The French onion soup was perfect with the cheese crisped delightfully to the outside of the bowl. They have an impressive selection of lighter fare, wraps and salads. I have heard their brunches are not to be missed but haven't had the chance. The sweet potato fries weren't the best I have ever had. They were warm (not hot) and served under a pile of brown sugar. They were dry enough the brown sugar appeared to be just a garnish as they didn't contribute any flavor to the fries. The hotel that hosts the restaurant is worth a future visit to check out. read more

My husband took me here for our 17th wedding anniversary. BEAUTIFUL place!! Throughout the course of our 1 1/2 hours at the restaurant (due to extremely slow service, not due to our intentions to waste our evening there), there was at most four other tables of diners there. Although our waitress was polite, she was snail slow, forgetful and negilegent. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our appetizers: 4 grilled scallops which arrived lukewarm at best. It was at least another 30 before our sirloin and chicken parm arrived. Such a delay that even the waitress was confused: she brought us the dessert menus assuming we were done with our entrees before they even arrived. As the entrees were delivered to us, the waitress noticed our drinks were low, so she said she would be right back with refills....we walked out of the place later without ever seeing those. The entrees were not even piping hot from the oven, but felt, again, heatlamp warm at most. The mediocre temperature detracted from the quality of the food. I feel if it had been properly served, it would have been an excellent meal. Finally, when we were done and leaving, we walked past the hostess stand to observe the manager and two employees standing there talking. Despite our courtesy at any point of not relaying our disappointment with the food or service, none of the three thanked us for our visit or told us goodbye. Perhaps I have seen too many episodes of "Hell's Kitchen," but my expectations and standards were not met. For an upscale dining restaurant (in this area) with higher prices, I expected much more. Also, the low volume of customers in itself warranted better food quality and service from any type of restaurant. read more

Twenty is my favorite restaurant (close only to the Barn Brasserie of Muncie). The ambiance, the food, the cocktails! It is well priced, delicious food. I'm definitely a dessert girl, and they do not disappoint! I recommend booking a beautiful room, eating dinner and many cocktails in Twenty, ordering your dessert as room service, enjoying it, sleeping in the best hotel bed in Indiana, waking up happy and refreshed, showering in the amazing showers, and strolling down to enjoy the fantastic breakfast they serve, preferably with a mimosa. Then wander over to the Salon (fancy term for Art gallery, not hair salon), afterwards buying a bottle (or three) of wine from the wine and cheese shop. Then it's lunch time again, so head back to Twenty for a kick-ass salad. THAT is how to get the most enjoyment out of your experience at Twenty. Make a weekend of it! read more

This restaurant is in the Charley Creek Inn. What a pleasant surprise. I was staying at the hotel which is gorgeous and had dinner there with two colleagues. The menu has a large enough selection to satisfy anybody. I had the herb crusted salmon with braised spinich and it was wonderful. My colleagues had one of the dinner salads and the pork loin. All three of us were extremely satisfied with our dinners. For being a hotel restaurant in a relatively small town they hit a grand slam. Our server Samantha was a rock star. She was attentive without being intrusive and offer great recommendations. I will be back and forth from Wabash frequently and will certainly become a regular. read more
