Based on the only other review here for River City Cab, I decided to call them and get a quote for the fare to the airport if they picked me up at 4AM..... I am calling from Pacific coast time zone, so my call to them was at 1:15AM their time on a Sunday/Monday (obviously not a great time to call and get a quote, but only time I had to do it!) Missy was friendly, professional, knew exactly where my pick up location was and was not hesitant to give me a very reasonable quote for the trip. I'm already impressed even before I get there!

Before the conversation was seemingly over, we heard absolutely nothing on the phone and assumed that we had been hung up on. So we arranged an alternative ride to our destination. On our way to our destination, we got a phone call that the taxi was outside our house. This is when we told them that we won't need the ride, because we didn't know that our ride had actually been booked. Again, we thought we had been hung up on. So we thought we would try again for our ride back from the destination. The same dispatcher picked up the phone and eventually deduced that it was the same people calling for a ride and very rudely insisted that he would not send a taxi to help us. He said he wouldn't send his drivers to chase us all over town when they cancel on services. We are not idiots, we are not difficult people. I called back today to either clear the air or file a complaint. I reviewed our side of the evening with this guy, who I believe is Tony, he walked me through the statistics of the likelihood of fulfilling all of the calls that the taxi service receives, gave me some advice for being an ideal customer, and took absolutely no responsibility for what occurred. Transportation services, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment businesses are many peoples first impression of our community, and I take that very seriously. This company needs to get out.

Only response I got was a new email from John (who I believe to be the only employee of the company), telling me it would actually be twice as much. I cancelled my credit card after reading the reviews on here, and thankfully I did, because after turning down the nearly doubled offer, John attempted to charge my card for the full amount. Super shady business practices, and given the other reviews, it looks like I'm not alone. Be warned.

I used to have to be at work at 3 or 4 AM every day, and I would reserve my cabs for the night before, but the company didn't care about that and would ignore my calls or say I never made a reservation. The app they have is a joke and should never be in use, and the dispatchers act like they don't care about you or your trips. I rode with them for 4 years, and 70% of my trips were terrible. The only way I even got to work on time most of the time was by having a specific driver who actually made an effort. I now got promoted at work and make almost 4 times what I was making before. Had they treated me with a bit of respect and not have been rude almost every time they came to get me, I'd have kept using them and would have been a happy and loyal customer. Now I just Uber and tip my drivers as much as I can. Guess you shouldn't have said you don't have time to take some grocery worker to the store and that your driver have better things to do. Also, if anyone is wondering why this place is still in business, it's only because they pick up medical patients for morning trips and bill it to they're insurance. The drivers don't get paid for the trips for weeks or even months, and that's even if the company bothers to pay them since they control that flow of info. I hope this was informative. Don't ride with these scammers; they aren't worth your time, Uber's gonna put them out of business soon enough, they couldn't care less about the customers, the owners suck, and all of the drivers hate the company as well. I hired Peoria Limo (sister company of Midstate Limo & Peoria Yellow Checker Cab) to transport my…read morewedding party from the church to the reception, with stops along the way for photos. Shortly after the first stop, the limo bus broke down and it took 45 minutes to get a new limo bus. In order to arrive to the reception on-time, we had to skip our remaining photo stops and head straight to the reception. After dropping us off at the reception, the limo bus damaged the venue's carport as it was driving away. The limo bus exceeded the height of the carport, causing debris (including a large wood panel) to fall on the ground. Luckily no one was injured, but it was a completely embarassing event to watch unfold on my wedding day. I spoke with the owner of Peoria Limo days after these incidents occurred. He said this wasn't the first accident their driver had been involved in. Furthermore, the owner mentioned that they didn't inspect the vehicle the day of the event. The owner said he was going to ask his limo manager to issue a refund for my troubles. No refund has been issued - it's been over a week and I haven't heard from the owner or the limo manager. Based on the information above, I cannot recommend Peoria Limo (or their sister companies Midstate Limo & Peoria Yellow Checker Cab) to anyone.
