Based on the only other review here for River City Cab, I decided to call them and get a quote for the fare to the airport if they picked me up at 4AM..... I am calling from Pacific coast time zone, so my call to them was at 1:15AM their time on a Sunday/Monday (obviously not a great time to call and get a quote, but only time I had to do it!) Missy was friendly, professional, knew exactly where my pick up location was and was not hesitant to give me a very reasonable quote for the trip. I'm already impressed even before I get there!

The only way I even got to work on time most of the time was by having a specific driver who actually made an effort. I now got promoted at work and make almost 4 times what I was making before. Now I just Uber and tip my drivers as much as I can. Guess you shouldn't have said you don't have time to take some grocery worker to the store and that your driver have better things to do. Also, if anyone is wondering why this place is still in business, it's only because they pick up medical patients for morning trips and bill it to they're insurance. The drivers don't get paid for the trips for weeks or even months, and that's even if the company bothers to pay them since they control that flow of info. I hope this was informative. Don't ride with these scammers; they aren't worth your time, Uber's gonna put them out of business soon enough, they couldn't care less about the customers, the owners suck, and all of the drivers hate the company as well. Don't give these people your money; they view people that aren't medical patients as nothing more than low income peions because you can't afford a car and dared to try to get to work on time. If you still don't trust uber and just prefer cabs, then just pick Big Daddy Cabs. My brother used to ride with them, and from the 4 trips I've had, I was treated a lot better and given an honest estimate on if they could get me a ride and how soon it would take. The Peoria area doesn't need this cab company anymore; they don't serve the community and only want to line they're pockets with money from insurance companies.

The room was cozy and well-appointed, with a convenient in-room coffee maker (perfect for grabbing a quick cup before heading down for breakfast). While the closet and bathroom are on the smaller side, they were perfectly adequate for a weekend stay. The shower had great water pressure--no weak trickle here--and though the shower head sits at about 6ft, as a 6'2" guest I found it just a touch short, but not enough to be an issue. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Amenities are a real highlight. The pool is fantastic: a clever half-indoor, half-outdoor design that, in March, makes the indoor section especially welcoming. Breakfast was excellent, offering biscuits and gravy, made-to-order eggs, a pancake machine, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and coffee in both bold and mild roasts. There were crumbs in the hallway on Saturday when we arrived and still there Monday when we left. On Saturday night we were awoken at 1:00 am by yelling and what sounded like furniture being thrown and people running in the hallway. I responded to a text we received upon checking that if there any problems, just text. I did. Twice. No response. My husband went next door and pounded on the door and told them we were trying to sleep. The next morning I complained at the front desk. They saw my texts. There was no explanation as to why they didn't handle the problem. Just told me those people wouldn't be there on Sunday night. Really?!? The kitchen staff however did a phenomenal job. There was a baseball tournament with lots of families. There was plenty of food and it was hot and good.

These rooms are suites with the studio being the smallest. It's great to have a kitchen area (with a dishwasher and mini stove!) and some space to relax besides your hotel bed. The studio has a 3 person couch with ottoman and it just feels "homey". The furniture is not worn and decor is not dated or looking tired. I'm so happy I found this place. The staff is really nice. The amenities are ample: a pool, fitness center, basketball court, free hot breakfast, and lounge area where check in is. Self-parking is free unlike some of the other hotels a mile away. Overall, a nice place for a single person, couple, or a family. I wanted to take off one star because the floors could've been swept a little better but minor compared to the craziness I saw at the first hotel I checked in at-- that place has 3.5 stars on Yelp (how?!?!). This Marriott is leaps and bounds nicer than that so 4 stars wouldn't do this Residence Inn justice so all the stars go to them because relatively speaking, I think this one is the true chain hotel gem.

This company is terrible. There is a driver named Betty Jo who is a con artist. She promises to wait for customers and not charge them and then when you get to your destination she charges huge amounts. She has done this multiple times. She also charged $14 to go 11 blocks. Another cab company charged $6.60 for this one way trip. Shame on her. read more

I went to the bus terminal on 10:20 and the driver told me that I needed to pay $20 transfer fee. There were plenty of available seats on the bus so I called Peoria customer service. They told me that it was too late to transfer through them so I had to pay the $20 fee to the driver. I rode on Peoria twice before and remember seeing people with tickets on a different time board on buses. My bus from ISR to ORD was delayed for almost an hour -- after driving 30 minutes, the driver drove us back and asked us to switch to another bus. Luckily I did not miss my flight but Peoria did not offer monetary compensation for their delay. My experience shows that Peoria cares little about their customers.

I remember coming out here ones or twice and having the time of my life. I blame these field trips for fostering my love for nature and being outside. So, it was only fitting that I revisit Wildlife Nostalgic Park... I mean Wildlife Prairie Park. WPP for short, this place is a fantastic destination for anyone living in Central Illinois or really anywhere in Illinois. During this fall visit, it was my girlfriend and my friend. We casually strolled the main parts while sipping some delicious coffee. The park had changed so much from when I was a kid. There were a few things I remember, but they have since expanded or updated mostly everything. They have a pretty cool snake area that is slightly modeled like a... snake. We played around on some trains and took some goofy photos with those "face cut out" displays. The bulk of the park are the nature preserves with wild floral and fauna. You could spend all day slowly walking through the park, seeing wild cows, wolves, deer, humans, birds, and various other interesting animals. Not only can you visit and see nature, they also have cabins/camping areas to rent out. I haven't personally done this as my group of friends aren't big into camping, but I would love to check it out some day. The prices seem really fair for what you get. Last but not least, they hold events throughout the year. Check out their website for details but I've been to their Ren Faire (Olde English Festival) and it was a blast. They also have a wildly popular Wildlife Scary Park each year for October/Halloween. One of my friends has a membership for WPP and said she has tickets to ride the train. Should this rain ever subside, I think it's time to take her up on her offer to go visit! We only have one Earth. Please treat it with respect. Don't litter. Recycle. Leave nature places cleaner than when you arrived. Future generations will appreciate it.
