Then you TRY and clean up ur disrespectful tone and question with, "I like to be transparent, look at the screen. An alignment is $124 and a lifetime....,,is $199. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to Pep Boys on Douglas Blvd. They will try to rip you off, the manager Charles will argue with you, even when he is wrong and not take accountability for his or his staffs actions. It even goes up to the area director Mr John Fidell and corporate. They lie on their multiple point inspections, and will argue until blue in the face. They tried to charge me for parts that I had replaced three days prior, in May 2025, and in November 2024. Know your car before you take it to ANY shop. read more

This was not a place we were expecting to visit and probably won't ever again, but when you have a blowout on the interstate while out of town on a SUNDAY during COVID, you take what you can find. Other places we called had a 6 hour wait, and while our plans were ruined, we didn't want to sit at Walmart for 6 hours, so we came here. What we thought would be 1 tire, ended up being 4 new tires that were more expensive than what we were quoted on the phone. It also took close to 3 hours!!! After blowing out a tire on the interstate, the donut was put on in its place and we searched for a nearby store for a replacement tire. Almost everywhere was closed on a Sunday, and the nearby Walmart had a 6 hr wait. So we finally found Pepboys open and drove over. The damage was worse than I thought, as three out of four tires needing replacing (and at that point, I might as well get 4 new tires to make them all have the same lifespan), but they made sure to show me and get approval before proceeding. It took them a little longer to replace than they originally estimated, and the four tires were a little pricier than I would have liked, but the car drove great and we were on our way. I might use them again in a pinch, but if I had time to shop around, I'd look somewhere else for cheaper tires. read more

I made an appointment online around 8AM for a 4pm slot. I get there for my appt only to be told they are first come first serve, and they wouldn't be able to get to me that day. I left work two hours early for this appointment. He went ahead and gave me a total for a rear brake job, which included two rotors and two pads. They wanted to charge me $743.00 for a rear brake job, and i would have to return the next day for the work to be completed. I left there, and went to another brake service company. They completed my brake job for half the price and same day. Pep boys has gone down hill tremendously over the past two years. read more

I've never seen a business nose dive to the degree that the Douglasville, GA Pep Boys has. I had used this location well over a decade and with several vehicles. It was always a good alternative to the dealership or some of the other 5 minute oil change places. Not anymore. Since Covid the Customer Service has gone down drastically, and making an appointment for service (even a week ahead of time) is a joke. Twice after arriving with a booked appointment, I was told that I would probably need to leave the car since there was no one available to do a very routine oil change/rotation. Well Pep Boys Dglsville. You should find a new excuse for your horrible service. Stop blaming unavailable/unreliable employees. Meanwhile, I'll keep my eyes open for any indication that you've returned this location to its once very decent standing. My car received a "tune up" in June of 2022 after a Code was diagnosed. Four months later my car stopped running. I had the codes ran at ORiely's and was told to take my car back to the shop that did my tuneup. I went back to Douglasville PepBoys. After waiting two days, I received a called that my car needed a tuneup. When I informed Charles that I had one completed at their location in June, he stated that they didn't have record of one being done. I informed him that I would emailed the receipt stating my payment and tuneup was completed. Hours later I called back and Charles stated that he found the service record. He stated that they would need to completed some other repairs related to the car issues along with a tuneup. I informed them that I did not want them to complete anything other than the tuneup (which was supposedly done in June 2022). It was to be completed in one day. The next day I called to find out my car tuneup was not started because a car broke down in the repair bay and they could remove it to get my car in. A day later and tuneup not started I called to requested my car repairs be completed. I was told my car had not been repaired. Charles was not in the office and the person I spoke with had no idea of the circumstances involving my car and had to be filled in. About an hour later, the person I spoke with called to say my car was ready. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was not offered a receipt or document stating what repairs were done on my car. I asked for a receipt and told him I would stay until I received one. I had my car towed to an independent repair shop where I was told I needed an engine. The spark plugs were not new as should have been if a tuneup had just been done. An engine replacement was not listed on the repair list PepBoys provided. One week later I am out of $600 for car rental, and the cost of a replacement engine. I highly recommend NOT taking your car to PepBoys in Douglasville, GA. Zero stars given. I'm pretty well aware by now that a lot of mechanics think women don't know about cars and will try and convince them to spend unnecessary money but this experience truly upset me. I asked them to check my brakes and the tech made it sound like I can fly off the road at any moment because my brakes are so bad and my rotors needed to be replaced. Being the worrier I am I went inside to ask for a printout of the estimate which was almost $800. When I tell y'all I almost had a nervous breakdown I literally almost started to cry. I can totally understand what the lady who is out of $600.00 is experiencing with Pep Boys. I was recommended to go to them when relocated here several years ago. For a while there ,all was fine and there was good service. Not cheap but the work was good, however something's changed. Not sure if it's new management or what, but immediately last year there was a sharp difference in customer service there. This Pep Boys is the ony repair shop that i know of that charges the customer to diagnose the issue& NOT allow that diagnostic charge be included in the bill once the car repair is done there! That diagnostic charge of $100.00 (it may be more by now!) is non-refundable & they charge that as a separate charge!! Even if one gets the work done there! So a $100.00 or more charge just to diagnose the car,? then charge separately to get the repairs?!!! Are you kidding me?!!! That's ridiculous & is just downright greedy! Even the guy who i talked to last year on the phone agreed with me! He was in agreement with me that it was ridiculous! That's saying a lot when it's own employee admits that their ripping people off! Before they got all of my work done & I've referred many to them. Not anymore! They bring greed to a whole new level! Even the car dealerships are doing better than that! My vehicle needed a routine brake service. I scheduled an appointment for noon and arrived promptly only to be asked to "remain patient." I waited 2 hours and thirty minutes before inquiring only to discover they attempted to begin the service but realized they lacked parts. After obtaining the parts they assured me only forty minutes of service remained, it ended up being another hour. I finally got my vehicle at 6. When I came to drop off my vehicle the other morning on a Saturday around 10:30, they said it will be a few hours because a few other cars were ahead of me. Okay no problem. Wasn't in no rush getting my vehicle done. They checked my tire and they said they're able to repair it. Okay awesome. So okay no big deal that it will be a few hours and at least my tire will be repaired. They said it will be done by the afternoon and they'll update me. Now here's the reason why I won't be coming back here. I came back later that evening around 6:30 before they closed because I haven't heard from them and they said they were gonna be done that afternoon. I arrived and my vehicle was sitting in the same parking spot when I dropped it off. I went inside and asked them if they serviced my vehicle. One of them responded "We haven't worked on it because unfortunately your tire isn't repairable." I was shocked and was rightfully upset because they said the tire was repairable. Turns out it wasn't. So not only they didn't work on my vehicle, they lied to me. If it wasn't repairable then they should've told me and I could've left the location that morning and go somewhere else. No big deal. But the fact I was lied to is what upset me. Thankfully I haven't pay anything. I had more words to tell them but it wasn't worth my energy. I told them to hand me my keys and let me go. After responding to Pepboys when they reached out to us my wife decided to take our Toyota Camry in for a simple brake job. (which I definitely recommended against.) She scheduled an appointment for 11 on a Monday and it took 6+ hours to replace brakes on one of the most common cars in America. I cannot say enough, PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PEPBOYS BRANCH. It's not worth the wait, and there are plenty of people who can get the job done sooner. Their blatant attempt to reach out on Yelp was nothing more than a PR move because they were worried about losing business, and NOTHING to do about improving the quality of their work. I'm from out of state and my starter died and got a tow here on a Saturday. They were pretty short with me and said they would try to squeeze it in, worst case they would get it fixed Sunday. Understandable, got a hotel room and was called on Sunday that the mechanic won't be in. So Monday I picked it up at the end of the day and it was $1200 for a tundra starter installed. Pretty steep, but I was upset with also getting charged $100 diagnostic when I went in and flat out said, I need a starter installed. Cost me extra time away from work and an extra night at a hotel. First of all I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at Pep Boys on Douglas blvd in Douglasville Ga; is the worst experience I've EVER had at ANY business and the public deserves to know. I only wish -0 was an option. Okay, first of all I had a 9am appointment for Monday June 18th for brake inspection. When I arrive I'm told by the guy at the front desk that appointments are not observed due to being short staff. Okay, I understand most businesses are short staffed so I agreed to patiently wait. I walk to a nearby shopping center to kill time. I call around 12pm to check the status, I'm told a technician could not determine the problem, so the master mechanic would need to look at it and they would call back with an update. Around 1:00pm, I receive a call and I'm informed that it's the master cylinder and the replacement and repair cost would be $750 that included a brake flush. A bit expensive, but I agree to the repair. I walk back from the shopping center to Pep boys around 4:30pm and I'm told they had not started on my car, but he should get to it in about 15 minutes. Im starting to get frustrated but I take a seat in the waiting area, and patiently wait. Around 5:30pm (10 hours of waiting) Justin informs me the part didn't work and my issue cannot be resolved and that they need to order another part. I tell him, I do not have another day to take off and wait 10 hours, and to please return me my car, because that was my only way to get home. He RUDELY and disrespectfully tell me that I have to pay for the labor; ($290) keep in mind the problem was NOT RESOLVED. What??? Why would a customer be expected to pay for a unresolved repair? Unfortunately, the only way I could get my car was to pay the labor. Now, I'm going to have to take legal and appropriate actions to get my money back; because we all know that the customer should not be expected to pay for an incomplete repair. My Nissan xterra was over heating and dumping coolant fluid. The tech said it could be the thermostat. They replaced it for me. 2 days later my check engine light came on. With a thermostat code. I brought it back and the customer service guy tells me "you may have to put in an original Nissan part. Had my vehicle towed to Pep Boys Douglas Blvd on Monday to have the starter replaced that they had replaced 5 months prior. The starter was under warranty for no charge. They told me I had one car ahead of me and they would get right to it. Called Tues morning and was told the same thing.waited all day they told me it would be done that afternoon. Well didn't get a call so I called back first thing Wednesday morni no. Was told the same thing so I got a ride to the location and the car was in the same place it was towed to. Spoke with the mgr. and explained to him that my work depended on the vehicle and I had to have it back ASAP. He assured me I could pick it up by 12:00 Thursday called at 11. And was told they were working on it. At 1:00 I got a ride back and the vehicle still setting in the same spot it was towed to. They keep putting me off so they can get paying customers in and out. Was there August 1st. These guys fixed my tire and I had no more issues on the rest of my road trip. My tire had been deflating slowly the day before and the other Pep Boys I went to spent over an hour with my car only to tell me they couldn't find anything wrong. Worst customer service, bait and switch. How do you change rotors that have just been replaced two weeks ago. I will my business, I have five running tracks. I went in to change my brakes and it oil change. I specifically said call me if there's any other repairs. They ended up calling the office and getting approval from them. There's a failure in communication there , Which ended up costing me $320. Megan at Pep Boys was awesome! I just got my car and the warranty company did not want to approve to replace one tire that was at the red/yellow mark. Megan did everything she could to have them approve the replacement of the tire as well as the alignment and the running day lamp. She made sure to communicate everything with me and had the service done in a timely manner. She was awesome! I went back two days later because of my tire pressure light being on and she got my car right in. Took them 5 minutes and i was on my way. We need more Megans! read more

Went in at 8:00 am for a simple rotate and balance......8 hours and two tows back to the shop later...had the vehicle towed home with $600 in damages plus towing fee. When we drove the car to pep boys this morning, it drove fine...after they worked on it 3x times ( 1st time - balance and rotate - 2nd time to fix the balance and rotate they admitted was not properly the first time cause the guy was "new" - 3rd time to discover they messed the brakes up ).....had to have it towed home as it was too unsafe to drive and they refuse to fix their mess. Use at your own peril. They did give us 2 free oil change certificates..as if after today I would trust their "new" guys to know where the oil goes!!! read more

My boyfriend brought my car here for a routine oil change. (WITH tire rotation ACCORDING TO MY RECEIPT). My regular mechanic was closed and I desperately needed to get it done. Well! A few months later I go back to my regular mechanic....only to find out they they had stripped the bolt so the drain plug wouldn't come out...they wouldn't touch my car. I took it back to pep boys to get them to fix it...they did..without charge and changed my oil as well. This time they didn't do a tire rotation because my tires were in need of replacement. Well..a few weeks later I go to get my tires replaced and 5 of my bolts were BROKEN. The nut had been put back BUT IT WASN'T ATTACHED TO ANYTHING. So whoever rotated my tires...broke it and just stuck the nut back in....the way the tire is...it held the nuts in place so unless you went to pull them off...you couldn't tell and they wouldn't fall out. No one else has touched my tires since I bought the car ( not very long ago) and an inspection was done...(They were not broken then). I used to exclusively go to Pep Boys. For the most part I've always been happy with the service, but I have repeatedly had issues with a manager (?) that I believe is named Megan. I notice that she gets really snippy with me if I ask a question, but she will be very polite if my husband later asks her the same thing. I called in and asked for an estimate once and she bit my head off that their store doesn't accept AutoZone diagnostic testing as real tests so I needed to pay for them to look at my car. I said that was fine, but my car wasn't worth enough to do a bunch of repairs, so I wanted to have an idea first what it would cost if AutoZone had given me the right results. Instead of saying that a replacement belt would be $x for parts/labor in that scenario, she just continued to be short tempered with me and demanded that I pay something like $75 for them to just look at the car or she would not give me any ballpark figure. I understand AutoZone might be wrong, but if I know the easiest fix is too much money for the junker car, I don't need to waste money on their testing too. Another visit, I came in early to get my oil changed and Megan insisted that they won't take walks in for oil changes any more and that I need to go online to schedule a service appointment. It seems like every time Megan was in the store and I brought my car in alone, there was extra drama with my transaction that wore thin quickly. Walmart TLE lets me pull right in any time I want and doesn't jump down my throat if I ask for information, so I won't be back to Pep Boys again! read more

I took my car in a week or two ago to have the brakes checked. I chose pep boys because I am not from Douglasville and the mechanic I used for my taxi fleet was in Carrollton and that meant I would have to leave my care at the shop for a few days and uber it to work. All I wanted was to fix my car and go home and cook dinner. I thought I was hearing squealing and grinding noises, which is what I told the lady at the front desk. After having my car in the bay on the lift for a while a man comes to tell me there is something strange with my car and ask how long have I had it. He says that two of the calibers are locked up and that they will need to replace all rotors, calibers, and pads for a total of $1200. I assume because my car was a muscle car and I was still in my scrubs they thought I had money. I had to take my car to my trusted mechanic at Accurate Auto Service in Carrollton just find out that all I needed was a tire. Very disappointed in the service at pep boys. read more
