This is more of a BBB complaint. Never received a formal printed quote on getting my AC inspected. Instead received a verbal one around 115. I was shocked at the end to get a bill for over $300. Big difference! Also don't be fooled by the 9.99 promotion on AC inspections. The prices were very high as well. Dealer quoted me less and that was a shocker. I made an appt for 11:30am on a Tuesday, sat for three and a half hours & my car never move from where I left it park, they checked after hour three & said I was the next car, when I saw another car being pulled in for service, I asked for my keys & left. No apologizes, no-let's make this right, nothing & by the way I had to go looking for someone to give me my keys back. Terrible management, don't give out appointments if u can service them in a timely manner, also the waiting room is extremely hot & they don't even have vending machines to get a cold drink while one waits forever. I made an appointment on Wednesday night for Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. They were going to replace the two rear tires. I got there, and I had to wait 2.25 hours before they looked at my car. After that things went fast, and the technician did a good job. I am agree, because I MADE an appointment, what is the point of making an appointment if you are made to wait more than two hours before they look at your car? Management (corporate level or just that store, I don't know) needs do a better job of managing their resources! Example: One technician called in sick, another one on vacation, so I have X people left to do the work. Job A ............will take 45 minutes Job B........... Will take about one hour Job C........... "************" So with my limited manpower as a manager, my store will be completely full until 1PM. And used that info to schedule appointments accordingly. This has to be the worst place ever! I brought my car in at 12:30pm for an appointment to remove a small nail from my front left tire. We called the day before for the appointment we were told that at 10am there are 5 cars so that we should bring it in for 1230pm appointment. Dropped the car off spoke with a tech at the location once again told him front left tire had a nail needed it removed an patched up. Said 45mins... it's 3:30 pm no call! I called they asked what car , I tell them, they place me on hold an tell me 30mins! 10mins they call talking about their system is down and that a lady called stating that she wanted an alignment. I have to update my review of this place. It is improving but it has a long way to go... Pro's: Alberto and Karell. Very friendly, took their time to explain the service, the amount of time it would require and explain any hiccups along the way. Con's: One of their coworkers actually told me: "why dont you go to the dealer, buy the part and bring it back so we can install it?"....(really?). One of the managers overheard him say that and i replied that either Pep Boys cant not provide the required service or they do not want to do it (which is even worse) It is expensive. 3 motor mounts and 1 tpms (tire pressure monitor system) came up to $ 1,150 (with a 20% discount) It is slow. This place has at least 6 mechanic bays. Unfortunately, only 2 or 3 where being used...so that means that they must short staffed mechanics... It took them all day to get the job done (again short staffed) The work performed was good, so no complaints there. These people are lying thieves. Everyone working there has no experience or education on anything having to do with any part of any vehicle. They lie to you to make the sale & after thousands of dollars wasted getting new tires, brakes & "the so called expensive Freon" they said I needed, my air keeps coming out hot & now they say for more Freon I need to pay again because my "3mo warranty (which they never told me about) is over. Why would I keep needing Freon every 3 weeks if they actually do it right & put enough Freon??!! (& they checked & said I Do not have a leak!) so why would I need Freon so much?? I purchased 4 new tires from them & then my tire pressure was not reading afterwards, I told them & they brushed me off by telling me when I start driving it will reset itself. Came back the following week & told them it is still not working, they said they could not help me that I needed to take it to the dealer b/c that's a computer problem. I do not recommend this place especially if you are a woman because they definitely take advantage of women! Horrible place, horrible service, horrible employees, horrible customer service!! I am not surprised to see all of the bad reviews. I should have checked here before bringing my car in. I came in for an 8am appointment to patch a front tire that has been leaking. I figured it was a nail since I live in a community that's still under so construction. PepBoys took about 40 min to call and let me know that they can't touch anything since my tires were made in 2016. Mind you I got these tires brand new installed 2018. Of course this "rule" is not on their website. They saw a chance to get me to buy 4 new tires from them instead of patching the leak or even removing the tire to check. The mechanic even went as far as saying there was some wear on the back tire so that's also a reason they couldn't patch my front tire? All they want is $$$$. I left and will have it patched elsewhere. Also be warned if you leave your car here overnight. My BF's car was left unlocked in their parking lot after not getting a call back to let him know service was completed. Very unprofessional. read more

Pep Boys is my favorite automotive store. They carry more of the major brands that I prefer to use on my vehicle due to their quality and superior low prices compared to AutoZone or Advance. This specific store has everything you need for your vehicle. That includes a simple car wash or plugs or oil filter for a tune up. They also have a large selection of automotive parts that you would need due to regular maintenance and wear and tear. This location also carries batteries and a large selection of tires. They also carry accessories such as fog lights, seat covers, trailer hitches and more. They also do mechanical work such as oil changes, brake work, tire installations and other small maintenance work. I would say the customer service has its days. I've been to this location multiple times. Several times it's been superb and others it's been lacking simple customer service and knowledge of basic automotive skill or comprehension. I can attribute this to simple training needed for new employees and others who I know have been working at this store for some time and know automotive knowledge. This store is good in my book, feel free to come and buy what you need and if you feel you need help ask to speak to a manager or experienced employee. read more

Called prior to arrival and was told my tire order was not in the system. They had the tires in stock so I went in. When I arrived my order was indeed in the system. Instructions were to replace the 2 front tires. They replaced the rear tires. After completing work I inspected prior to payment and discovered their error. Notified counter and they wanted payment. I refused until they fixed their mistake. Technician was angry and throwing things in the shop. There was no sense of urgency to correct the mistake. No apology or remorse for their errors. I should have read the Yelp reviews prior to selecting that store. read more

Quick Update: I am also now down all 4 tire air caps, which I had before I had service here. Not that they are expensive or anything but come on....is it so hard to put them back on after checking tire pressure? My car got towed here today because I didn't have a spare and got a flat on the TPK and only one that was open nearby. The 2 stars are for Wesley (I think that was his name) was nice at the counter and got my car on the lift quickly. However, the mechanics / tire people move in slow motion and it took a long time fir a simple tire plug. I sat and watched through the window while the socializing was taking place. Once the guy was in my car to back it out, he sat there for a minute or so. I couldn't imagine what he was doing. Once I got on the road, I realized all of my change in my door and dash thing were now only pennies and my little stash thing that I always have $5 in singles in was now $2 and all quarters were gone. Steering wheel felt powdery so I wiped it off and it was full of BLACK grime as in the pic. While counter service was fine, the shop personnel were less than ethical nor did they care about leaving my steering wheel full of mechanic hand black stuff. I am a single mother of 2 struggling to make it. Its December and Christmas is coming soon. I go to Pep Boys because I think my car needs to be balanced. Once my car was lifted, the sales people called me in and told me I need two new tires in the front. I was so scared that I had to purchase 2 new tires right before the holidays. Then the person who drove my car in told me my cars steering wheel was pulling to the side and the steering wheel is not straight. At that point, I knew that those "sales" people were a bunch of liars. My steering wheel was never pulling to the side at all. I told them to lower my car and that I was leaving. I took the car to the dealership and without saying a word I asked a mechanic if my car needed tires. They said NO, the tires are just fine...To make sure, I pulled another mechanic over and asked him if I needed new tires, they also said NO. Pep Boys saw a woman at their shop and automatically saw money signs. Well, they didn't get a dime from me nor will they ever! Those people tried to use scare tactics to make me feel my car was no good. They thought I was an idiot. I knew they were full of crap the moment one of the thieves told me my steering where was pulling to the side, when I had specifically checked that out myself!!!!!!! If you are a woman, DONT go to these thieves. They were literally trying to take my money away from me and my children. read more

One of biggest pep peeves is when customer service personnel at a counter use words like, "I don't know" when you ask them a question about there special's. Also when they seem bothered by you asking them a question. I recently got both front and back rotors and breaks done with them. It was expensive so I used my pep boys card. I was there today for an oil change and called in for pricing before hand. I get there and price is jacked up about 30 more dollars. So I ask why and seeming bothered, he's says he does not know. ‍ In front of me there is board with specials and there much lower. I ask why the big price difference, and the answer was , I don't know. Look I'm only posting this because if your like me, I can not afford to waste my money on the I don't know. I would give Pep Boys a zero if that was an option. I went to Pep Boys today because my car did not start this morning and I needed a jump to start my car. I went to another auto store first before going to Pep Boys. I went to the same place that I purchased the battery from back in January. I had them check the battery and the alternator. I was told and was given a printout from their machine to show that my battery and my alternator were both good. I went to Pep Boys to get a second opinion because I live very far from my job and I didn't want to stranded far away from my house should this happen again. I was told by Pep Boys that I need FOUR new tires. First of all, why are you looking at my tires? I bought three new tires 3 month ago and the 4th tire was purchased this year in January that was purchased new. Therefore, that was not a true statement. At that point, I didn't believe anything that they said to me. I was also told that my battery was only functioning at 10% and I needed to replace it. In addition, I was told that I needed an oil change. I can understand why they recommended an oil change because it had been 2,500 miles since it had been changed. That would explain why the oil was dark. Needless to say, I used none of their services. I'm not sure if this happened to me because I am woman or I had stupid written on my forehead! read more
