had a 2 PM appointment at Pep Boys and expected things to go smoothly, but the experience was a bit frustrating. They initially got the service wrong, and I was told it would be over a 2-hour wait, even though I had an appointment. When I asked why I bothered making an appointment, the staff explained it "holds your place" but really only works best for early morning slots, like 8:30 AM. To their credit, the service ended up taking about an hour--not sure if that's the usual time for what I needed, but it was faster than I was told. While the wait wasn't terrible, the miscommunication about the appointment system left me less than impressed. read more

Zero awareness and professionalism. I just left this location having waiting over 1 hr and 40 mins for them to plug my tire. After all that time, the manager approaches me and tells me that cannot help me bc the screw is too close to the sidewall, which when first diagnosed, was 100% fine. I'm old school and always attempt to identify talent when service is required. After researching tire replacement for our car that I intend to keep long term I landed on Pep-boys . My first experience with Pep Boys in Hobe Sound after multiple disappointment my from my local Genesis dealer in Stuart I shopped around as usual and found PepBoys to very competitive with pricing. Equally as important Josh was exceptional to deal with. I ended up adding an oil change while the car was there. All good stuff. I expect to return to this location for future needs. Criminal.what these guys tried to do. Went for rotate and balance tires on 2024 Camry with 25kmiles . said I needed new rear shocks and all new tires. Would have been couple thousand dollars. Took to local Toyota dealer, all fine rotated and balanced tires good to go for $30. Can't image how they take advantage of the uninformed. Will never go to a pep boys ever again. read more

These guys are the best!! I was thrilled with my new 32" tires they put on my lifted f150 truck for me! I can't imagine why anyone would go to a specialty truck place to get charged so much more when Hobe sound pep boys are so knowledgeable and experienced! This place is very dishonest!. I brought my car in and was told I needed two tires in front. They said they would put on Cooper tires and that they have a buy one get one promo so I could get four ne tires. When I picked up my car, they had Kunho tires on my car, and the "promo" was buy three get one. They also added $100.00 to the quoted price. The man I dealt with was named "Josh". Bought tires through eBay with installation prepaid using PepBoys. Can't say enough about the crew at the Hobe Sound location. They went above and beyond working through an eBay "glitch" on the prepaid service. They were professional throughout the process and did an awesome job getting my Tundra done in a timely fashion. Came in to have headlight bulb replacement because I have been having a hard time seeing at night and worse, when it rains; over the past year. Eyes get worse with age I guess. They told me the bulbs were not a problem instead of simply replacing the basic bulbs. And recommend I consider (not a "must" purchase) LED bulbs that can be purchased at a nearby store and they could do the labor. I came back with the bulbs and they took me in. ~45 mins later, I have LED lights (low beam, high beam and fog lights) for my 2017 4Runner. Very pleasant group of folks and helpful. Price was reasonable for 6 bulbs. It would take me hours of YouTube videos and lots of risk if I tried doing it myself. Pay a little bit for peace of mind. Scheduled my appointment online, same day, & was able to get in after work for what I thought was just an oil change! Went inside and David was very friendly and helpful when it came to my questions and concerns. After some inspection, it was determined that I needed new tires and windshield wipers (which was very true, wipers were old and tires were from used car.) He took the time to thoroughly explain everything and give me the best deal possible. Place is clean and the staff is super kind. I needed to replace the tires on my 1962 Austin Healey Sprite, but only wanted to take the rims into the store, two at a time to have the new tires mounted and balanced. I set up an appointment and they were prompt and punctual and did a fantastic job, when they said they would do it. The store manager was always in communication, courteous and professional. The mechanics were all friendly and experienced. About two months later, I was in our main car and noticed the tire icon lighted (low air pressure). I checked the wheels and found a nail in one of the tires. I called from the road and the manager said no problem, come in as soon as you can and we'll fix it. I drove right there, one of the mechanics took it right away and plugged it and checked and filled the other tires to the proper pressure. When I asked how much, they said, "nothing." It's part of their service excellence. When's the last time you heard that. I will always and only go here. They are honest, courteous, professional and soooo reasonable. read more

I usually love Pep Boys and tried this newer location closer to home. After I got home I took a close look at my wheels and they had scratched the heck out of them. All four wheels were totally scratched on the entire hub. I called them and was told nothing they could do but the manager would call me back. Never even received a phone call. Terrible service, ruined my wheels, and couldn't even call to apologize. read more
