Took my company vehicle in due to a popping joint when I backed into my driveway. They had enterprise replace both axles and turns out the problem still exists. I stopped using the 25Ave/SR40 location due to overstating something is bad and verifying somewhere else it was not, never using Pep Boys ever again. I scheduled two appointments with Pep Boys in Ocala on 8/21/2025. Both for Oil changes and a tire rotation. I arrived at the Pep Boys, 2170 NE 49th Ct Rd, Ocala, FL 34470 in Silver Springs for my 10:30 Appointment and found out my appointment was made at a different store in Ocala at 2425 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470. Anyway, the lady told me she would work my car in for the oil change so I left it there dropped my son off for his class at CF and returned an hour later to drop my truck off for service and take the car. They had not touched the car, even though there were two employees in the office and one actively working in the shop. I told them I could not wait any longer as I had to return my son's car to him. So, I took the car and drove down to the other Pep Boys at 2425 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470. Asked them to use my trucks appointment to service my son's car and they said they could have it done in 45 minutes to an hour so I left it with them and my wife and I ran an errand. Came back and same thing as the other store. They had not touched my car! And same scenario two guys in the office and two in the shop. I understand people get busy but don't promise what you can't deliver. I used to get good service from Pep Boys but not anymore. I have other auto Maintenance choices and Pep Boys is now off my list. read more

We were traveling in our class B RV from St Petersburg to Virginia and I noticed that I had a low rear tire going flat. The Pep Boys tire in Ocala was my closet tire shop. We got there 10 minutes before closing. Just wanted to get air and see if we had a leak. Mr. Nick the manager came out and started working on the tire and found that the value stem was leaking. I was planning on having to stay and delay my trip to Virginia. Mr. Nick said he would get it fixed and jack the 3500 Dodge van up and got it fixed in no time and had us on the road. Our battery conked out and we used our roadside service to get a jump. Roadside sent us a digital coupon for a Pep Boys battery, so we drove straight there. They were busy, but guy working in front was unnecessarily rude, quoting a ridiculous price (over $250+ installation) while telling us they were really too busy to sell us a battery. That's okay, the Walmart next door that had the battery for less that $100 and husband swapped it out. Don't waste your time or money at this place. read more

Recently I was told by a manager at the E. Silver Springs location I was " bullying" him and was literally told to take my car somewhere else. This location use to be my " go to" store, but after this experience, never again. Use the the one near Arby's where they know how to treat customers. Went in for an oil change. Mechanic found leaky brake line had them repair. They replaced almost everything but the brake line had issues with brake switch. They Had the car almost 5 days Next day car wouldn't start bought a new battery good for about a week then dead again. Went to an other pep boys they were going to fix what the other shop did for $1400 for free but wait they found suspension rusted out replaced. Got car back brake light on clicking sound from tire went back said they would fix it. NOT .Next day car won't start. $ 2800 for them to totally mess up the car over an oil change. Waited an hour for a free inspection on a scheduled appointment, went in for a standard brake package with 40% coupon, he wanted me to get all 4 rotors replaced on top, left without them doing anything because I didn't agree on the extra stuff he wanted to do, went home rotors look fine, just need the brakes like I originally wanted, tried charging me 1283 I couldn't run outta there fast enough I know what 4 pads and 4 rotors coast, trying to get more outta peoples pockets this pep boys should be ashamed ridiculous! read more

My family has had some issues in the past with Pep Boys and we decided we were going to get our cars service elsewhere from now on. However, we decided to give them another chance. We brought in a car for an oil change. While we were there, we told them a little of our previous problems. Francisco went out of his way to make this time better to make up for all the previous bad experiences, including replacing parts that had previously been broken during service appointments at no cost to us. We will now continue to take our vehicles in for service. read more

On a Saturday my check engine light came on. I really did not want to wait until Monday to deal with the issue. I decided to go to the local Pep Boys to have the vehicle diagnosed. I spoke with the Service Manager Sarah. I am not a car person. She explained ther was an issue with the emissions system. She was thoroughly professional and made me feel confident in the diagnosis. Unfortunately it was a part that had to be obtained from the dealer. Because Sarah did not talk down to me and was beyond professional, i had them order the part and do the repair. Before any work was done I received a quote and that was the price I paid for the services. There was no upselling nor giving me the impression I would be sorry if I didnt do the service with them. I will use them again because The service was excellent. I will also add that when I returned to have the services done it was actually pleasant. The lobby was immaculate and air conditioned. The restroom was spotless. There was a flatscreen tv you could watch, and vending machines at your disposal. The repairs were done in a timely manner. Use this Pep Boys location with extreme confidence. read more

Unfortunately my last experience with Pep Boys was very bad. I had been dealing with my local outlet in Silver Springs for minor repairs and had no issues as the staff was friendly and the pricing seemed. During the summer I had them quote me on fixing my A/C and they quoted me almost $3,000 to replace all the issues they said they found. Well, I took it to another location and had my A/C fixed for $250.00 and it has worked great since then. On December 30 I had a brake issue that was very specific but they gave me a verbal quote of "no more than $1,600.00" to replace all brake lines front to back even though I didn't need all brake lines replaced. This is after leaving my car at 7:45 a.m. and not hearing from them until I walked in at 4:00 p.m. and asked for an update on my car. The person I dealt with was courteous but he had to call the previous on duty person I had dealt with in the morning at home and ask if he had written a quote. He hadn't and apparently told the person the $1,600.00 number. I certainly feel that both times I received a quote I was being taken advantage of and the quoted prices were an attempt to gouge me. I called about paying for labor for breaks, since I bought the equipment needed for the breaks all I needed was to pay for the labor. So when I arrived to the shop for my appointment I was told it would be ready in 3 hours. With child in tow I walk across the parking lot to the Arby's to get lunch and wait. My child and I were there for a little over an hour so we decided to go back to check and see how things were going. Not a soul was in the shop. An hour and some odd minutes had passed and my car and every other customer's car hadn't been touched! I already shelled out money for someone to go on their lunch break while not fixing my car! Trying to keep calm I go to the waiting area and see a couple sitting waiting for the same thing I was. I asked them if they were paying for nothing as well and they said,"yep, that's about right!" I discussed with them the quote and two other men who had announced that I was being taken advantage of and they advised that I take my business somewhere else reasonable. I walked out of the store to the shop and told the guy who gave me the quote that I was leaving and taking my business to someone who won't take advantage of women or the elderly. Needless to say I did not pay $555 for someone not to be working on my vehicle. Ladies, please do not take your vehicle for repairs to any of these locations. They will rob you. Even with all of the equipment and supplies I was still going to get charged for $555! Pep boys does not do everything for less like their motto or theme song. They aren't honest and they manipulate women and elderly to throw money their way. I will never do business with this company and will continue to tell others to stay away as well. I was driving cross country from Florida to Illinois when my brakes began to act up. I pulled off the interstate and looked up and contacted the local Pep Boys. A woman named Sarah answered and was extremely helpful offering a free brake inspection.  Upon inspection it was found that not only my brakes but also my calipers and rotors needed to be replaced as well. Sarah made me feel very comfortable and confident in my purchase of brakes and services with Pep Boys. All of my questions were answered and my concerns addressed before the mechanic Harley even began working.  Once the work began there were a few unforeseen problems that Sarah and Harley handled extremely well. They even kept the shop open later than normal to ensure the repairs were completed properly.  Because I was travailing cross country my whole family was with me including three small children. Sarah went above and beyond her title of Service Manager and made my experience unforgettable.  Sarah's attention to detail and vast knowledge of services and products also saved me some money as well. Being a female needing auto service I am often times leery about some things the mechanics may say. Sarah explained every detail of the scope of work and I felt completely at ease working with her. I look forward to continuing my relationship with Pep Boys in the future and am thrilled to have found such amazing employees as those at the Ocala FL Pep Boys. read more
