I needed a true NO gift to bring home. And, since I don't heat hot sauce at all, I had no idea of what I was purchasing. However they do! On Thursday I purchased 2 bottles for my step sons. While doing so, they explained to me according to Tobasco, the product I was looking at was an 8. I thought perfect...!! So much so, we returned on Saturday afternoon and purchased an additional (I think) 5 bottles, this time for my other half's consumption. :) Earl Price...when you go, you MUST ask for and see him. He is the bomb! The man is not only a wealth of knowledge regarding these sauces, but he's pretty darned funny too. Oh some of the stories about those who claim they can eat fire...LOL. On my previous walk into the store, I had no idea about the 'buy so many get so many free,' otherwise, I think I may have done so right then. However, I'm glad we went back and saw Earl. Once Earl found out I was in there 2 days prior, he offered to apply the previous purchase toward 'buy so many get another free.' Of course, we wound up getting more than the deal, hubby was in heaven! The best yet (for me)...Earl sent me toward the dips, which were way more to my liking. And yes, I added 2 to our order. After all, I couldn't go home without anything for me, right? This place has it ALL...everything from a 1 to a 10. Earl and Pepper Palace are the best, even for this spiceless woman! read more

This shop is great. They have everything a chili head like myself would enjoy. From mild sauces(1) to the insanely hot (10+++), seasonings, rub and jellies. The few employees that I have met and talked to are all friendly and very knowledgeable about the products that they sell. If you're traveling they will even ship your order home. I visited Pepper Palace recently and really enjoyed my experience! The sauces are delicious and the store is laid out very well. There is a huge variety and I always find something new that I end up trying and then I have to buy some to take back to Michigan. Keep up the good work and Bradley is the best! This place is fine if you want to go somewhere that only sells hot sauce. Which is why I went there, as a last minute stop before heading back to my hotel. The door was locked, but the guy that worked there was down the street and saw us and opened the door for us. He walked us through the hot sauces that were only available in New Orleans. I selected two. When I went to pay, I was a bit quick on pulling out my credit card and he politely said, "Hang on, give me a second--I gotta ring you up first." To which I replied, "Sorry, I know you close in 15 minutes, I want to get you out of here on time." He asked how I knew when they closed, I told him Yelp has their hours--to which he responded, "I can open and close whenever the f*** I want and they can't fire me because, as a South African, I'm a minority. I'm African-American." And, when I tried to politely explain that as an immigrant he may be a minority but that as a white man, he's is not, he began to whitesplain to me how, "Black people get way more benefits than I do." This is disgraceful on any weekend, this is especially disgusting this weekend during the terrible events in Charlottesville. I SINCERELY HOPE that the management of this company doesn't support this type of rhetoric and that this person is given an opportunity to attend a workshop on equity and diversity in the workplace. If not, go to Sugar and Spice--they're open just as late and have lots of hot sauce options there without the covert racism. read more

VERY good concept! The store is HUGE! Who knew that there was so many hot sauces? They make all their own stuff! I love the fact that they have samples of everything. The young lady was very helpful and very knowledgable! I bought a lot of sauces and seasonings and they even bubble wrapped them for me so I can take them in my suitcase on the plane. read more

This place is awesome! I went in with a couple of friends and we ended up leaving with more product than we know what to do with! Thank goodness they can ship to anywhere because I don't know how my friends would have gotten their purchases home otherwise! There are any kind of salsa, hot sauce, pickles, or BBQ sauces you can imagine! They have sample stations set up so that you can try certain products, which is definitely a huge help. This is pretty much my favorite store in the world. You can sample a ton of sauces ranging from hot sauce to barbecue to salsa etc. The hotness rating indicators are helpful and accurate for the most part. I wish there was one that wasn't in the French Quarter but it's worth it! read more

Of what I tried at the pepper palace was amazing. I had about 9 bbq sauces out of about 16, 10 salsas out of about 25, and all there queso's. All the bbq sauces except one were amazing. The one that wasn't good just didn't have much flavor. All the salsas I tried were amazing no question. The pepper palace salsas all had good variety of flavors and I recommend them to any salsa lovers. The pepper palace deserves these 5 stars no doubt. read more

They have a variety of red or green habanero sauces, Jamaican jerk seasonings, curry power, low-sodium jerk flavored ketchup, Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee (ground or beans). We were down in New Orleans for my niece's bachelorette party and were walking through the Quarter and found The Pepper Palace. Upon entering we were greeted by Earl and it was just fun, fun, fun after that. They have a tasting area that is huge, where you can try a vast majority of the products they sell! Earl is there to assist you and make recommendations as to what you might want to try. They gave my niece a complimentary bottle of hot sauce that Earl wrote on and he made the whole experience an enjoyable one. This place is awesome. The best selection of any hot sauce place. They had free samples of about every sauce, spice and oil! My kids and I took the hottest sauce test and got our picture taken. My son started shaking it was so hot. I signed a waiver for my daughter, it didn't seem to effect her at all. Always a competition between her and the boys. read more
