Best food I've had in Jax. Highly recommend!! I heard about this restaurant through a friend who lives in the area and knows I love eating like a local. She was raving about it and I'm so glad I went! My husband was hooked and made me promise to go back every time we're in town. Go see for yourself!

I'm hungry and I have no clue what I want. This rarely happens (side eye). Just left a community engagement meeting on the Northside (way north) and the bubble guts were getting loud. Then I noticed this place was still saved in bookmarks with varying reviews and no pics. :-/ #$%# it - I can grab a quick snack then get a real meal later. I get off the highway and immediately feel a little sketchy about the area. Nothing really seems open even though it's after noon on a Saturday? Then I see the line! There's a line of patrons waiting at this small walk up take out stand! I park as tightly as I can and shuffle around some folks to peak at the menu. I was hoping for calallo & salt fish or ackee - but instead I see shrimp scampi? So this place has the bootleg Queens/Brooklyn vibe. Looked like several mothers were cooking away in the kitchen. Don't except smiles and warm welcomes. Place your order, pay, and step to the side and wait. Depending on what you order. That wait can get pretty long. (First time my patty took at least 10 minutes. But it's so good I couldn't complain - just go in with proper expectations.) There's a small outside patio for those that can't wait the drive/walk home to eat. But most take the food and run. As I'm waiting I notice a super tall built dude that walked out in a dockyard navy blue out fit that said "SECURITY"? Dude really? Me love: curry goat, beef patties(spiced nice), and carrot juice (so sweet). Be ready for all types of goodness. It's inexpensive and portions are huge. Spit fyah and a cuss: limited menu and no true vegetarian options - and no fish This small walk up has been a staple for the area for over 30 years so I don't see them going anywhere for a long time. Keep supporting local business.

    No Flavor -_-

Ordered the curry chicken with rice. That is literally what you get. Not even potato with the chicken. Rice was hard as if it was old. Food didn't really have flavor making it bland. Fruit Punch was amazing though. If your fine with rice, some gravy and a few pieces of chicken then don't let my review stop you. Won't be back unless I just want some of that Punch!

This place has been around for years but the food is not the greatest, I had the worst watered down nastiest lack of flavor curry chicken ever & the beef patty tasted like straight cardboard like it had been sitting on the shelf for decades. If you want good jamaican food in jacksonville check out spices or caribbean sunrise bakery. Dont go to this place.

The decor and vibe definitely give Asian street market -- I loved the neon signs. Thomas was our server and he was friendly, quick, and attentive throughout. We ordered the Twice Fried Korean Wings, Bonchon, and Chili Crisp Cucumbers to share. The wings were delicious with the best crunch, almost like candied chicken wings. My only complaint is I expected more heat from the gochujang. The Bonchon is essentially a flight of pickled sides: sweet pickled cucumbers, sweet pickled carrots and daikon (similar to what you'd find on a Vietnamese banh mi), and a well-fermented kimchi with mild heat and great flavor. We also ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Soup, and thought we ordered "Chow Fun" noodles -- but "Chow Faan" is actually their fried rice dish. Word of caution: if you want their take on Chow Fun noodles, order the "Beef Haw Fun" instead. The star of the show was the Hong Kong Wonton Soup -- the broth was authentically Asian, distinctly different from a classic French-style broth built on onion, celery, and carrot mirepoix. It was so good we ordered another one to go and took it to our mom to enjoy. We will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes.

He mentioned wait times for tables, so I chose a Tuesday evening to try to avoid the crowds and it worked as I was immediately sat upon arriving. There are QR Menus on the table and my server directed me to view there. I spotted the Tokyo and was intrigued by the Ajitama Brûlée (signature torched seasoned soft boiled egg). What I Ordered: - Tokyo: For $16.95, I thought this was reasonably priced and excited to try as reading reviews raved about the umami flavor of their ramen. Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth. The fried chicken thigh was a delicious protein and cooked so well. Honestly, every ingredient was crafted well and combined to make such a beautiful bowl. - Lychee Martini: What better way to toast to life, then with a martini! The popping bubbles were not my thing, but the flavor of the martini was delicious. I can see why many suggest trying it. This is my 1900th review on Yelp, and I couldn't pick a better place to review and RAVE about my experience. If you are in Jacksonville, RUN don't walk to this location for a stunning experience as it's a gorgeous location that is very cozy. During our visit, a manager engaged in repeated personal interactions with my guest that felt outside the bounds of typical professional service. While I understand that friendliness is part of hospitality, the frequency and tone of these interactions became uncomfortable and detracted from the overall experience. After the visit, I brought this to the attention of the business directly in the hope that it would be acknowledged and addressed. Unfortunately, I did not receive a meaningful response or any indication that the concern was taken seriously. I'm sharing this here so others have a complete picture when deciding where to go, and so the business has another opportunity to reflect on how customer interactions are handled. With more attentive management and clearer boundaries for staff, this could be a much stronger experience.

They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
