I've been craving for a Taiwanese beef noodles and vegetable spring rolls, and came across this place. It wasn't a new place for my husband since he'd been here before. 1. Beef noodles - the broth taste decent and had just enough spicyness to my liking. The beef was tender and I would say to it's price has reasonable amount. Although I thought it has the wide rice noodle but instead it came with the thin noodle. Overall, their beef noodles satisfied my cravings. 2. Veggie spring rolls- this actually surprised me as it came out super small ‍and almost nothing inside. At first I thought the wrapper maybe was just thin and will have a good fillings inside but I was wrong. 3. Pork steam soup- my husband ordered this. He was a bit disappointed as it was dry inside. Service- we noticed that there's just 1 all around server which made the wait time longer especially when the customers started to showed up. I came here on a Friday evening at 8:15pm, with about an hour before the restaurant had to close. Already having in my mind what I wanted to order to ensure that I would be out before the place closed to be respectful of the waiting staff. The server was extremely rude from the moment that I walked in. Upon coming in, I was not greeted at all. No Hi, Hello, or anything. The server glanced at me and I asked for a table for 1. In which he turned around with a menu and sat it on a table. He said absolutely nothing to me when doing this. The only thing that this water asked was for my drink order, if I was ready to order food and if I wanted to place anymore orders because the kitchen was closing. He did not crack a smile or try to be kind at all. Was definitely a poor customer service experience, and I was really looking forward to visiting the spot for the first time. While the customer service was terrible, the food was pretty good. I ordered a few dim sum appetizers and was pleasantly surprised by the taste and how fulfilling these small appetizers. I ate here for dinner yesterday. It was Saturday, raining and pretty dead inside There was just one other couple eating there at the time. They had one waiter working the front of house and also running the connected Boba Tea shop. I ordered several things, and being by myself, ended up packing up half to go. The 3 out of 4 of the soup dumplings stuck to the parchment. I find this often happens here. I feel the wrappers are way too thick. I asked the waiter to communicate to the cook to try spraying some cooking spray on the parchment before putting in the dumplings. I may help them release better. The other dim sum were all good and hot as usual. I ordered some pineapple steam buns with custard to go. I still recommend the place, even though their soup dumplings could be improved. For anyone who has never had Dim Sum, it's like the Spanish Tapas of the Chinese/Cantonese world. We have a few places in Jax that offer these but it can be tough to get a reservation close to Lunar New Year and traditional times for Dim Sum. I found S&R on a yelp search and gave it a try. I got a photo of the DimSum menu (1 page) and their drinks. The restaurant offers many additional dishes, but that was not what I was there for, so I cannot speak to them. We ordered fruit teas in the form of slushies that were absolutely the most fresh and authentically made of fruit slushy I've ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a true delicious fresh fruit drink experience plus they added benefits of Boba. My husband had the mango and I had the "oh my melon" which !Surprise! Was watermelon, not honey dew or cantaloupe as I assumed. I added strawberry popping boba and was beyond delighted with my drink. We ordered pork dumplings, sia bao steamed buns, soup dumplings (Hallelujah!!), spare ribs (Errrmeergerrd!), and lotus sesame sweet buns. Absolutely delicious, savory, well cooked, not a single disappointment- will definitely come here again! The restaurant was nearly empty on a late Sunday afternoon, but the kitchen was popping with online delivery orders so I know they have solid business. We were in the mood for Dim Sum and our go-to spot was closed. Man oh man am I glad we stumbled upon this spot. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was amazing. The buns were soft pillows and the filling on everything was just scrumptious. We ordered multiple items on the Dim Sum menu as well as General Tso chicken. AHHHHHMAZING!!! Hardly anywhere else sells shrimp rice rolls and chicken feet, which are two of my favorites. The prices are also great compared to the other dim sum restaurants around Jax. S & R is everything I need when it comes to filling my dim sum cravings. I tend to do takeout because the restaurant is on the quieter side and there isn't much going on inside. A MUST is the pineapple crusted egg custard buns, it's basically a desert but it's SOO good! I really enjoyed the pork rolls as well, and the vanilla cashew shrimp with rice! This is my favorite dim sum shop in all of Jax! I have never been in the restaurant when the kitchen did not rush out the orders super quick and the staff is always knowledgeable about recommendations. The place always smells clean and the ambiance is bright and cheerful making it a cozy place for a long lunch and chat with a friend. It took over an hour from pick up to delivers, Uber Eats and no receipt, and I got the wrong order of about $20 worth of food I do not eat. I believe it was a major screw up of Uber Eats. I would never have expected one of the best dimsum places that I've tried to be located in Jacksonville, Florida! I was curious after seeing in passing a favorable comparison to LA and NYC dimsum places. The reviewer wasn't wrong. Their dimsum menu has fewer options than some others that you might find in cities with larger Chinese American communities, but what they lack in variety, they more than make up for in quality. I appreciated how none of the savory items that we ordered were too greasy or salty. They were all surprisingly light and as delicate as fried items can be. The seafood egg noodle soup was also flavorful and soothing. The pineapple buns and lotus seed paste sesame balls were stellar! Unlike some other dimsum places, you order from the menu, and items come out around the same time or in close succession instead of being pushed around in carts (they don't have the space or staffing for this). The restaurant was also clean with enough space between the tables, so you don't feel squished. I would definitely take family and friends here if we visited Jax together. read more

We ordered lots of items off of the dim sum menu, but the highlights of our meal were the pineapple bun, the shrimp rice noodles and the radish cake. Everything was delicious though. Customer service was ok, not the best I would say, but not bad. For drinks we got water and hot jasmine tea. The tea didn't stay hot in the pot like most places. But nevertheless, still warm. For food, we got shumai (very good), chicken feet (decent, more on the dried side, not the best chicken feet), black bean spare ribs (simply delicious with lots of flavors, you must try this one), pan fried shrimp chive dumplings (this one was my favorite, so freaking good), soup dumplings (the dough is too thick for me, but the flavors were there), shrimp balls (they were good), and sesame balls (yummy) for dessert. The service was speedy and the food came quickly. Everything was exactly as pictured on their menu--like seriously. The photos are EXACTLY what you order. The portion sizes are large and filling and the price is perfect! We ordered some baked buns, steamed buns, fried dumplings, soup dumplings, spring rolls, sesame balls and some white rice! Everything was so satisfying and as the portion sizes were so large, we took things home. My favorite items were the baked buns and fried dumplings--highly recommend those. Don't come here expecting the Hong Kong style carts for dim sum. The menu had a good selection, but missing some of my favorites. I ordered the Sui Mai, Beef Rice roll, soup dumplings, and stuffed eggplant. The worst of these was probably the soup dumplings. The wrapper was tough and chewy, and ALL of them broke in the steaming basket. I appreciate their attempt at making these dumplings, but unfortunately didn't work. The rice noodle roll had a good texture, but the beef was very simple and not the usual cilantro flavor that I'm used to. The sui mai and eggplant was pretty average. I absolutely LOVE the server Donald, do not let the reviews scare you off from this restaurant. I have been coming to this restaurant for about two years and he is an extreme hard worker. He works every day the restaurant is open and he is typically the only server, while busing the tables, delivering the food, running the cash register, and answering the phone. He completely does it all. Although he does have a dry sense of humor and is very straightforward, once you get to know him he is hilarious and very nice. As for the food, I always order the fried rice. The portion is very big and extremely worth the price. I am vegetarian and they are very accommodating. I definitely recommend this place but come with an open mind and give the server a chance.
