My first time back since 2021 and it was a great experience! We were greeted immediately & seated at a very clean table. The mushroom broth was a delicious base and paired perfectly with everything. The variety here is awesome. There are plenty of TVs to catch a game, they have drink specials, & the rotating belt of toppings was so fun to watch! We also loved the huge sauce bar where we could mix our own concoctions. From the fresh veggies & seafood to the meats for the soup and grill, everything was top notch. They even have ice cream for dessert!

    Seats 14 comfortably. 12 hotpots. 3 grill.

First hotpot to ever open in Jacksonville and they're still a personal fave all these years later. Going with a large group recently, I'm reminded that this is still fairly new to a lot of folks even if they've tried Korean BBQ before. The hotpot + BBQ makes decision paralysis a real conundrum. Even when you tell your server it's your first time, they just walk you through the logistics of ordering but the don't tell you where to dunk the meats or which things go in the grill and which ones go in the boiling soup. So for the review I'm sharing an easy fave because your experience is what you make of it! Their ingredients are great! Their sauce recipes are amazing. So here we go. You've starved yourself for this moment. Someone said come hungry. So you do. But you get there and you have to make a thousand decisions and there's a massive buffet style with nothing cooked. You're drooling but you still gotta cook. Not to worry! As soon as you order your flavor of broth, go explore! You got this! Take several trips! Pace yourself because you pay for food you don't consume (though they've been lenient , but you never know) You'll need 3 plates minimum + 3-4 small sauce bowls PLATES: 1. Seafood (to throw in the broth) 2. Marinated meats (to throw on the grill) 3. Veggies and mushrooms for either 4. Kimchi (as a side for your meats) 5. Noodles for the grill are at the buffet (think hibachi, you get the noodles and rice will be provided at the table) Noodles for the pot are on the conveyer belt Sauce bowls: Each bowl has the basic three: garlic + scallions +/- cilantro Bowl 1. Mix Soy sauce, hoisin, chili oil at sauce bar , salt and pepper are on the table , grab onions on the conveyer belt. This is your broth seasoning. If you want to try oyster sauce, this is a great add on to this bowl. Bowl 2: Mix bbq sauce, garlic, sesame oil (add gochujang OR chili oil for spice). This is your marinade for uncooked meats you want to grill. You can drizzle this and get a nice charred look on your meats. Sauces for dipping Bowl 3: Mix Hoisin, chili oil, sesame oil, house special. This is for dipping your crab meat, crawfish, mussel, shrimp, fish ball etc even your bbq Bowl 4: Chili garlic or Gochujang. This is for extra spice for your grilled meats. Cuts the fattier meat taste very well. Extra bbq sauce for dipping doesn't hurt either. Note: - they have awesome recipes at the sauce bar I tend to like my food packed with flavor so I go for salty , savory , spicy - Nutty flavors are some of my fave. Soybean paste, sesame paste, peanut butter are Bomb but you can save this for later when you're feeling more adventurous and want to play around with sauces. Now you're seated and your broth is boiling. Your first thought should be to put meat on the grill. Soup cooks faster than bbq. For the hotpot , I like Pork Bone Broth - Add 1 crab, 2-3 mussels, 2-3 crawfish, 2 shrimp, 4 fish ball. Once cooked remove some to make room for enoki mushrooms and vermicelli (thin) or udon (thick) noodles last minute in the soup. You can add more later , they'll top you off with more broth For KBBQ: I just get all short ribs/ Kalbi now. The meat is seared on the grill with your bowl 2 mix and once done, have a bite with dipping sauce bowl 3 or 4. There's so many options here and every trip will be different than the last. I love this place and can't wait to go back.

Ok located in plaza at the end. Lots of parking. In during the week for early dinner. Didn't disappoint- seated quickly - and greeted by Linda -waitress who was pleasant. She took our broth order and explained. How it works. There's tables with the grill and hot pot. Was clean and the conveyor belt of veggies and noodles was well stocked. Lots of fresh seafood - crab, shrimp - some seasoned, beef, pork belly. You can just have hot pot with out Korean BBq or few $$ more have hot pot and bbq. Went with combo. Good eating!!

Quality is still going strong! Quite some time has passed since my last review, so we're overdue for an update... Hot pot is still going strong in our regular restaurant rotation. The quality of food and service is still top tier. The red curry broth is my absolute fav, and during our visit today, we noticed a peppercorn broth has been added to the menu. Today's visit occurred around 2:30 pm (Saturday) and it was moderately full. All items at the buffet were adequately stocked and well maintained, the conveyor belt had a full selection of items, it was well ventilated and the bathroom was clean. Love the consistency here, and we will definitely continue to frequent.

This place is on the corner of a plaza and has plenty of parking. There was adequate seating and it appeared clean. The staff were fairly nice but they could have been more friendlier. Our waitress raised her voice a little when telling my mother to lower the temp on the soup because it will over flow into the bottom and affect the electrical component. She later tried to be overly nice. There was a good selection of food and I liked the conveyor belt of veggies to pick. In comparison to other places, this place wasn't anything fancy and it was ok for a quick lunch.

If you're looking for a cool place to dine that's fun, fresh, and a full-on experience, you've gotta check out Hot Pot BBQ on Beach It's the perfect all-you-can-eat restaurant for date night, dinner with family or friends, or just to up your dining. You do cook the food yourself at your table to make for an interactive dining experience. The conveyor belt circulating fresh veggies and noodle to add to your hot pot is not to be missed. They also have a wide selection of fresh seafood and meat for your hot pot or Korean BBQ. Though challenging, I encourage you to save room for dessert! The price for all of this is $35.99 per person which isn't too shabby. It's definitely a spot to check out! We enjoyed our food so much we've been thinking of a time to visit again soon!

The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was very cozy and welcoming. I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back again!

This is the first local hot pot and BBQ places that I've been to after having gone to similar-ish spots in California a while back, and I'm happy to discover such a fun place like this in Jacksonville. I went with friends, and we each did the hot pot + BBQ option (although I appreciated that they'd let you do one or the other for a slightly lower cost). Going vegetarian here is a significant savings, which is refreshing since some places will charge the same rate despite meat having much higher costs than veggies. We went on a Friday night and it was packed! The wait was a little longer than we were quoted, but I don't fault them for that as it just means some people stayed longer than anticipated. The restaurant does have signs up about a two-hour limit for dining. The magnetic conveyer belt of noodles and veggies was super fun, although I do wish that there was some kind of guide or key to tell you what's what. Some things are obvious, but a few had us wondering. The meat bar got good feedback from my dining partners for variety, but they did mention a few things were pretty thoroughly frozen still. And I've seen some folks mention that the broths are a bit bland, but I think that's by design considering the breadth of the sauces and condiments available -- I was able to get my broth to a nice spice while the folks I was dining with wanted theirs to be mild. This place definitely makes my list for fun and unique local spots.

Table of 4, with bbq in the middle and 4 soups selection. not enough spaces for the dishes

I loved this place! First time customer! Got there right when they just opened. There was already a line outside before it opened. Staff in the front was an expert hostess- seated everyone immediately. Waitress was great too, picked up dirty/empty dishes quickly so we can have more space for the food . Food options are great! Lots of ice cream selections, some cakes and fruits, lots of seafood- ,, clams, scallops, jumbo , , salmons, short ribs, , sausages, hot dogs, marinated meats, plenty of vegetables, bean curd, ramen noodles, rice noodles, corns, soo much. I want to grab all of the dishes but our table is too small . Selection of sauces are bountiful as well and even have sauce mix recipes for those who are not sure what/how to mix. Price is reasonable $36.00 adults, $21 above 9 yrs old - 12, and $16 for 4 yrs - 8, for both hot pot and bbq. The soup selection is up to 4 types, which we did select but, should have selected just 2 types cause I didn't get to try the other two options due to my seat is a little further away. Overall- the food was great, service was awesome. Tips for customers- don't get in the line with young kids cause the line starts with desserts . Tips for restaurant owner - adding wet wipes, gloves, and plastic-aprons would be great additions to keep our clothes clean of the food splatters

I got the ayce kbbq($32pp). There was a good variety of meet to choose from beef, chicken, shrimp, salmon, scallops,etc...You make your own sauce. Most of the beef such as the short rib and steak were very chewy(which was quite disappointing). The bulgogi was the only beef that was actually good. Salmon and shrimp were good(just have to season or dip them in a sauce). The grill was a bit weak as it took much longer to cook most of the meats. The inside was pretty cool as they had revolving food plates coming around the table on a magnetic conveyor. Staff was nice. Overall an average kbbq experience, good vibes and decent meat. Food(50%): 7.0 Staff/service(25%): 6.6 Value(25%): 6.5 Overall: 6.8/10

There was a variety of food. My daughters lived it more than I did. They enjoyed their octopus. It was our first time going, I thought the explanation of how things worked could have been explained better. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the moving plates. My girls want to go back, I could pass.

Planning to do a birthday party, will the place handle a group of 20 people?

I'm doing a Birthday Brunch July 23,2023 can I host a party of 15 pp

How much per head with grill?

As of December 2022 it was either $33.99 or $34.99

Are any broths similar to Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot? I love their broths. It's my favorite of any hot pot. Curious how this place compares.

I've been to little sheep in NY. This place doesn't even come close, it just fails all over. It is actually an insult to hot pot places like Little Sheep. Just go get pho or something else. Don't go here.

Is it possible to have a vegan/vegetarian or seafood boy broth? I can't have beef/meat broth

    Seafood yes!

What does the spicy soup have in it?

Base is made from bones, beef and pork, five spice, different kinds of chili powders and flakes as well as garlic

Why does the website not work? What vegan options are there?

They have Tofu and a wide variety of vegetables, they have one vegetable broth.

Is it priced per person? If I want to share the pot and the grill with my date do we both pay 30?

It's priced per person. There's one pot per seat, so you unfortunately can't split a pot with anyone. Same goes for the grill, each person has to pay individually!

Are any of their broths vegan?

They have vegetarian broth options. They will default give you pork broth unless you tell them you prefer vegetarian. They dis not mention vegan in any way when they were asked.

Are any of the soup bases gluten free?

Yes, several of their bases are gluten free

    Do the serve alcohol?

Yes, I know they serve beer. I would imagine they serve wine too but I'm not sure

Do we need reservation on the weekend, is there a time limit on how long you can stay at your table?

No reservations, 2 hour limit (usually when it's packed)! I recommend to go early.

Do they have a vegetarian or seafood broth or are all the broths not Vegetarian friendly?

They have broths that can accommodate vegetarians not all the broths are meat based.

Is this place ever going to open back up?

Their Yelp page says "Scheduled to reopen October 8th." Let's hope that they do.

What is the average cost per person?

About $25 per person, includes Hot Pot and the AYCE BBQ

Is this place closed down? Their FB page looks like it is closed.

They said they are installing new vents and the exhaust systems for the tables. I guess time will tell.

Are the hot pot and BBQ grill on the same table?

Yes, there are tables that contain both the Hot Pot and grill. There are more areas for Hot Pot vs AYCE KBBQ, so the wait time for Hot Pot may be shorter just FYI.

The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

It is also good but I would go with Korean seafood if I wanted medium spicy. I like the many food options they offer which even includes shrimp with or without the head and snow crab legs. The revolving veggies and noodles are so convenient and fun. I like to get in my leafy greens - they have bok choy, lettuce, napa cabbage, snow pea tips, and water cress (when they have it). It is also nice that they offer different flavors of ice cream in a cup or waffle cone for dessert. Perfect ending to a meal. The service was good and they recently upgraded to electric payment at the table which makes it even more efficient when you're ready to go. Until next time!

Fantastic, not just dinning its a fun experience and great for groups…read more Fairly new- nice and clean located in new plaza lots of parking. Good signage amd friendly staff, greeted happily and Nulauh - waitress explained and answered questions. We had party of five in early on a Sat. We thoroughly enjoyed it. you can get the bbq only, hot pot only or combination. Plenty of proteins to choose from both seafood and meats. The conveyor belt of veggies and noodles to choose from was great, like that they are portioned out already. Will definitely be back.

I battled for a while on how to score Gen Korean BBQ House! Whenever I leaned toward a 4, I found…read morethat I needed to leave out my feelings about fighting with the food I eat, which is difficult for me! But that's on me, not the restaurant. And the food, of which this is a hot pot cook and serve yourself full service restaurant has to be considered in my scoring and graded on that. Now, speaking of service, it was outstanding from the door greeter, our server, and having an opportunity to speak with the manager, I will say that the courtesy and attention to detail was evident throughout the eating cooking and eating experience. It has been a few years since I had eaten in this type of restaurant, and being it was my birthday, I kind of said "Oh no!" To myself as I knew what I was in for. But with the psychological game I was playing inside my head, I instantly made a shift and determined to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. It worked! Except my dearest was having difficulty chewing the meat. But again this was not due to the quality of the meats we chose, it was something else. But the food was very good. I loved the appetizers that came with our dinner at the start. I'm scared to eat kimchi because it's often fire on my tongue! But not this time - there was a little heat in most of the appetizers, but nothing that I couldn't handle. It's good to see the restaurant holding back some of the heat to help those who desire less burn from the taste. Now the meats we had all cooked well and timely in the pot. They did sneak a little Mexican in the meat choices with the pollo (chicken) asado! They had al pastor as well, and thought I had ordered it, but it didn't show up. Now, I would say on the pollo asado offering that I felt the spicing was a little too heavy. It was good and I do miss Mexican cuisine from my years in San Diego. We also had pork belly, which I didn't try because I don't eat pork, but it was a good looking option for those who do like it. Now I will say that I did really like the beef bulgogi - was nicely marinated and pretty tender and not overly chewy. Now, I will say that there were only two of us, but I think we would have fared better being in a group of four or more. I will say that the large padded seating booths are pretty awesome! We needed a lot of room to set all the appetizers and choices we made. I also wish I had gotten to try the carne asada and al pastor. But that's for another day :D I do love the ambiance of Gen Korean BBQ. It's modern in appearance. The spacing is good and it's very well-managed and the care in cleanliness is highly visible. It wasn't a busy time when we visited Gen, but we got to see others enjoying their meals here - and most clearly were large groups that seemed to know the drill better that we did at this type of restaurant. With Gen being in Town Center, I have to finally say that the price of the meal was very reasonable, especially when you have a complete menu to choose many items from. It was impressive. If you like Korean BBQ and restaurants of this type, you owe it to yourself to make a visit (and try to get a small group together to go with you)! Recommend: HIGH

I decided to…read morechange my plans and get something from Taste of Korea instead and I'm glad that I was able to try it. I got the regular doshirak, which was essentially a large bento box. I opted for beef bulgogi and it came with rice, a fried dumpling, japchae, kimchi, pickled veggies, Korean rolled egg, bean sprouts, and a couple of other sides. The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. I really wanted - and should've ordered - the Korean hot dog...next time. This place has great customer service and packaging. It's a bit pricey at $20 for what you get or for comparable options, which are within the $15-17 range.

Whether they were small versions of actual vehicles in production, or crazy dragsters or monster themed or anything else the wizards at Mattel could come up with, I wanted them all. You know what I didn't really want or collect as a kid? Trucks. Sorry Tonka. But I just didn't care about dump trucks or bulldozers or big rigs. And you know what, I kind of felt that way as an adult about food trucks. I mean, to me they were fine, but like my penchant for hot wheels in the past, I'd rather go to a sit down restaurant. Yeah, well Taste of Korea has me rethinking my food truck aversion! Located in a pretty ordinary parking lot on Beach Blvd, this is definitely a little food truck that can deliver some fantastic food! The guy taking orders is super friendly and patient as a noob like me tried to figure out what to order. Ultimately went with the Premium Doshirak, the bibimbap and the kimbap. For both the doshirak and the bibimbap I got the bulgogi beef for the protein. On the kimbap I tried the ham. All were excellent. The Doshirak is a cool box filled with banchan - small side dishes, and cooked rice. The banchan include Kimche, Japchae, fried dumplings and some cool desserts. The blogs is excellent and all of the banchan tasted great. I thought the eggplant was a little mushy but the flavor was still really good. Bibimbap flavor was excellent as well. The only downside is that the rice at the bottom doesn't get all crunchy from being cooked at the bottom of the hot bowl. But it was a minor issue to me. And the kimbap was super fresh. The ham wasn't overpowering and it was a nice change from getting role bulgogi in the kimbap as well. The only wish I have is more variation on the proteins for the dishes we got. But the food is super tasty and I look forward to going back to try the fried chicken and well, anything else on the menu. Maybe I'll bring a matchbox car or two to help pass the time while waiting for the food!

The decor and vibe definitely give Asian street market -- I loved the neon signs. Thomas was our server and he was friendly, quick, and attentive throughout. We ordered the Twice Fried Korean Wings, Bonchon, and Chili Crisp Cucumbers to share. The wings were delicious with the best crunch, almost like candied chicken wings. My only complaint is I expected more heat from the gochujang. The Bonchon is essentially a flight of pickled sides: sweet pickled cucumbers, sweet pickled carrots and daikon (similar to what you'd find on a Vietnamese banh mi), and a well-fermented kimchi with mild heat and great flavor. We also ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Soup, and thought we ordered "Chow Fun" noodles -- but "Chow Faan" is actually their fried rice dish. Word of caution: if you want their take on Chow Fun noodles, order the "Beef Haw Fun" instead. The star of the show was the Hong Kong Wonton Soup -- the broth was authentically Asian, distinctly different from a classic French-style broth built on onion, celery, and carrot mirepoix. It was so good we ordered another one to go and took it to our mom to enjoy. We will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes.
