FIVE HUNDRED STARS for Simply Bulk! I love this place. Instead of buying 5lb bags of flour when I go through 1lb a year, I fill a mason jar, label it with Sharpie and put it in my redneck country chic pantry with all the other mason jars of sugar, brown sugar, quinoa, gluten free organic oats, MECO cheese crackers, chocolate covered balls, coffee beans, organic olive oil, tamari sauce, and alllllll the spices I get from Simply Bulk. Local eggs, bread, soaps and value add products are always available at the register along with a fun selection of Longmont stickers. You can get almost everything here. I haven't loved the laundry soda (it doesn't work nearly as well as Charlie's) but they have tons of options of cleaning products and body care as well as the food selection. You can replace almost everything you buy at the grocery store with something Simply Bulk sells in bulk. You can also pick up free used buckets and 30-55 gallon drums for home and yard use - think of the rain barrels! Employees have always been super helpful and friendly and the staff has been consistent over time. Bring in empty salsa, condiment, pasta sauce jars (with their lids) to donate here for others to use who may have forgotten or don't have something the right size for what they're buying. read more

Love, love, love this place. Most of the trash in landfills is from packaging so buying from here makes me feel a little better. They have a huge variety from bulk items to Colorado honey. The staff is always helpful and friendly. read more

Me and my husband walked around yesterday,and see this store and decided come in. We are not expecting see like this store in Longmont. Especially so good prices,even cheaper than Sprouts farmers market. So a lot choice tea,we take four different types tea. Olive oil,honey,and so cheap price for maple price. And you can choose between soap,laundry detergent,hand cream. Oooo and we glad see you can take kombucha. But good if you come with you bottle,but you still can buy in store,for very good price. Store is impeccably clean with incredible selection. Bring empty containers to the front to tare before filling - I got some very tasty granola, spices, pearl barley, dog treats (for my dog and the dogs at Longmont Humane - so far everyone is a fan of the cheesy bits!). This place is easily my favorite store. Every time I'm here I discover something else they have that I need but didn't know about. Molasses? Check. Beeswax? Check. Tamari sauce? Check. I get as much as I can from this place, and it feels great knowing I'm minimizing my impact by reducing waste. I also love that I can get only as much as I need, so I don't have to buy a huge bag of something I might not like or use again. The staff is super friendly and the place is always immaculately clean. If they ever shut down, I will legitimately cry. I'm here on at least a weekly basis, and I love it every time. read more

I was very happy to discover this store rather close to home, after having moved here last year from CA, and was used to buying many pantry items in bulk. After chatting with the owner, came to appreciate it even more. (She had a similar story to another owner of a bulk store I knew in CA). I like the products, the prices are reasonable, and you can use your own containers. There are nuts, seeds, flours, spices, local products like honey to just name a very few of the wonderful items offered. Being in the "heart" of downtown Longmont, lots of fun to visit and walk around a bit after, and while there, visit Ziggys for coffee! read more

I stumbled onto this place by accident. What a gem! Large bins of almost any household product you'd ever need. The concept of zero waste is what I've been striving for and buying supplies in smaller quantities will reduce the storage space and maintenance of excess product in my home. I've already decided the tons of expired spices in my pantry can be thrown out, and now I can reclaim my space as I only have to buy what I need. Such a great variety of specialty products that rival Whole Foods and Sprouts. I'm impressed. Will definitely return. read more

We have always been a fan of the bulk department at our grocery store; however, in our recent efforts to reduce our plastic consumption, we found ourselves taking our jars to the Simply Bulk Market. They pretty much have everything you need as far as staples, spices and snacks! They also have a huge personal care and cleaning section! We are trying out the toothpaste powder this week! A friend turned me on to this place and I'm so glad she did. We were working a sidewalk chalk festival and I had a break (that I extended to shop around here!). There's all kinds of bulk items in barrels and clean scoops, bags or containers to purchase. A great find was bull couscous as I couldn't find it in the store after the CoVid race to stock up. Shame on you, hoarders! They have bulk spices, detergents for laundry and cleaning, shampoos to bubble bath and pet care items. All good products too... I don't think they claim to be a "natural food store" but they have eco- sensible products. It was not too busy either... busy enough during a street festival but not awful. I love this place! Heidi, the owner, is very friendly and always greets you with a smile. It is the only bulk store on the Front Range that offers: food, herbs, personal care, pet food and household cleaning supplies in bulk. I do frequent Homefill in Wheat Ridge at Four Seasons, which focuses on household cleaning products. Refill Revolution has a little bit of non-food bulk, but focuses on reuse. Lush on Boulder is awesome for its shampoo bars and bath bombs. However, Simply Bulk is my go to store once a month for bulk items like: cereal, pasta, flour, herbs, teas, tooth powder, grains and hair conditoner. While I always bring in my own containers, Heidi offers some for sale or bags. They need more places like this in Colorado and around the country! read more

I had gone to Simply Bulk for years and I'm sad to have moved away from Longmont and can only shop here when I visit my family. So many great things about this place... less waste, cheaper products, finding some harder-to-come-across stuff, friendly service, very clean, getting to choose the specific amount you need and just overall fun! Not usually a reviewer, but I have been shopping here for years (admittedly intermittently) but have always left wondering why I don't come here more. Just picked up some goods, slowly, and upon checking out realized I was "that guy" still shopping 15 minutes after closing. I work retail and know the annoyance of this customer but they were so gracious and insisted I wasn't annoying at all. But aside from that, their products are high quality and the selection is varied and impressive. From spices, coffee and tea to flours, grains and cereals, plus much more, Simply Bulk is the best place to go to refill all these things without buying more plastic. read more

A small shop, easy to miss driving up Main street, but worth looking for. Parking on Main is limited, but there is a larger lot behind the store on Kimbark, and you can enter the store's back door. For a small store, they actually have a surprisingly good assortment of bulk foods, spices, candy, pet supplies, and even soap. You can get as many pig ears as your dog can chew- without having to pay extra for packaging that will just end up in the trash. I really like the bulk spices. Spices in the store tend to be rather expensive, but a lot of that is from packaging. By buying it bulk, you can get just the quantity you need to refill your current container, and the savings are huge. They also carry packages of freeze-dried fruit and veggies, which are a fun, nutritious snack. read more

This is an ENTIRE STORE of bulk foods in bins. Cool little market, I just wish I had brought containers or jars rather than use a bunch of bags (but I was in Longmont for funeral, so how was I supposed to know I was going on a bulk buying binge). It's a tidy little shop with that delicious spice smell in the air. Almost all of their bulk items appeared to be organic and they had a section of lotions and soaps and whatnot as well. I went a little overboard, filling up bags or various grains, beans, pistachios, and chocolate chips. The cashier was very friendly and even offered me a box (they're bagless except for the individual bags....you know what I mean) for all of my goods. If I ever find myself going up towards Longmont again, I'll remember to bring containers and a big bag. A star off for the prices. More selection, but not cheaper than say, Whole Foods. Maybe even a little more spendy. They did appear to carry quality brands though (Bob's Red Mill, Lundberg's, etc). read more

We just moved to the area and I wanted to check this place out after reading an article about them in the paper. We live in Boulder, but were up near Longmont for a hike, so I decided to stop by. There are many things that I appreciated about this place that ensures I will be back: - You can bring and use your own containers (I'm used to a food co-op where you could bring your own containers - and was disappointed I couldn't do so at Whole Foods). Just bring them to the front counter so they can weigh the container before you fill it. - It is locally owned and I like supporting small and local businesses. - It was clean and product looked like it was fresh, such as the dried fruits. Areas with liquid bulk items were clean. - Lots of Bob's Red Mill and other natural/organic brands that I like to shop, at bulk prices. - Variety! Every kind of flour, rice, grain that you can imagine, and because it is bulk, you can buy just a small amount to try something new or get experimental. - Household and personal care bulk items - again, brands that I like, but at bulk prices and I can re-use my containers. - If you forget a container (I needed honey but didn't bring a jar), they do have containers for purchase, not too expensive. - I was with my four-year old. There were some chairs for sitting and a couple kids books. She sat and looked at books while I perused. The store is small enough that I could still keep my eye on her. The gentleman who checked us out also acknowledged my daughter and tried to make conversation with her. I appreciated that personal interaction. In the future I will plan ahead to bring my containers and stop here whenever I have other things to do near Longmont, to make it worth the drive. But I definitely expect for this to become at least a monthly stop to stock our pantry. read more

I absolutely love this market. I came here regularly to buy my staple spices and for specialty ones for new recipes. The store is full of great grains/rice, flours, dried snacks, spices - you name it. There's even a pet section in the back. My pup LOVES the cheese ones. The setup is easy - measure your goodies, bag them and label them with the number. The owner is a really nice and always willing to help. You can bring in your own containers to fill, too. I ALWAYS get romanced by the handmade soaps at the counter. The lavender mixes are the best. read more

Simply Bulk has a wide selection of... bulk items! Seriously, no weird name that leaves you wondering what they sell. Some of the containers are in barrels on the ground, some in aisles, some on the walls, and even in the back of the store, too! The selection ranges from locally made products to common brands like Bob's Red Mill. There is everything from pretzels to bird seed and oats to dog food. We left happy with bags of bulk goodies in tow and look forward to making something yummy! read more

On the front window it says, Pay for the Product, Not for the Package. But I wanted to sample a couple of the lovely bulk teas. I used the small, Frontier paper tea bags provided on the tea counter. I went home and weighed the tea, wanting to estimate how much it would cost me per cup if I continued to buy it in bulk. I discovered the paper bags had not been tared out. That meant I had paid over $36.00 per pound for the bags ($0.71 each). I went back and pointed out the mistake to the woman who seemed to be the proprietor. She admitted they don't tare out the bags ("somebody's got to pay for those bags"). She did offer to refund the cost of the bags, but I declined (it's only $1.43). I just told her there should be clear signage that the provided bags will be charged at the rate of the bulk item you put into them. (That is, you will pay gross weight, not net weight.) I really want to support local business. And I was willing to pay the somewhat higher prices in this store. But to be assured that I am only paying for product, and then to be covertly charged an undisclosed price for the package, came across as poor customer service. I don't know if it's also illegal in Colorado. There is no signage that tells you that the bags which are provided will cost you, which is essentially what the proprietor told me is the case. read more

Another great establishment in downtown Longmont. I go to Simply Bulk to buy teas, spices, and those kinda weird ingredients (barley?) that you just don't need a huge bag of. They also have coffee, cookies and candy, pet products, lotions and haircare, and tons of other stuff. I need to get over there and try out their maple syrup soon. read more

It's a nice store with a great selection of bulk items. However, I haven't found it to be cheaper than other stores. And, as another person pointed out, you do pay for the weight of the bags that they provide, so the more expensive the item, the more expensive the bag. Another thing to know is that the current owner has no problem with non-service dogs in his store. There was a woman with a dog when I was last in there, and the owner got very defensive when I asked about it. I assumed he hadn't seen the dog, but he had, and had no problem with it. Heard about this place by word of mouth. Simple, neat and clean. Have seen some of the bulk items in other stores but what I do like is the wide variety of odd flours that sometime seem hard to find. Love that they encourage you to bring your own spray bottles, etc. to refill with their non-caustic products. There is an entire section for pets with different types of treats. And they carry seeds for birds. This is strictly bulk items and not a ton of everything else, maybe some jewelry and a few beeswax candles. They aren't trying to be Vitamin Cottage or Whole Foods. Check their hours. I think they are closed on Sundays. Update: They have soap nuts $10.45 for 85 washes! They are in a smallbasket under the refillable detergent dispenser. Try their Datsa Spicy Stuff nut mix. Seems to be popular and has a nice kick - the best so far out of most "spicy mixes" you can buy in bulk. Chocolate covered pomegranate is also a different and good, nice and unusual. read more
