I was invited to this place by my sister in law after a special event to celebrate. This was my first time at this restaurant apart of a group of 12. We were all seated at a large round table but, there was not enough room for us to fit at the table comfortably. The food is bland and terrible all at the same time. This restaurant is definitely for the much much much older crowd. The decor looks like a nursing home dining room. Food came out lukewarm. Parking is open and accessible outside of the restaurant. Ummmm, I did not plan on returning even if someone treated me to a meal.

The interior is a bit dated, but the menu is on the cheaper side for good food and good service. It starts with some nice dinner roles. They have some daily specials, but I went with a broiled crap cake which was tasty and decent-sized. The seasonal vegetable was Brussel sprouts and was kind of bland though. The South Breeze Shrimp and Scallops was a good dish and had a nice breadcrumb coating and buttery sauce. The sweet potato was only okay as well. Honestly with inflation, this place is really a great value even if it was mostly appealing to older people when we went. There was plenty of parking. I can see why it was popular in the early evening.

The Peppermill is an old school local restaurant that reminds me of my grandmother in a good way. Old time bar area with many locals handling out. Friendly and welcoming to anyone. Crab soup was clearly homemade with large pieces of crab. One of the best I've had. The broth was spiced well for my taste and the bonus was Old Bay came with the cup. My wife had cream of crab and she loved it I'm not a fan of cream based soup but I tried it was silky and full of crab. For the cost and friendly staff this is Just a great experience all around.

London broil special was not so special today. Reminded me of the average meal one might expect at a diner. Meat was tender, but fatty. It came with mashed potatoes and a gelatinous gravy. Steamed broccoli was the side vegetable and it needed help...many some butter or cheese topping. To ease the disappointment my wife and I ordered their spectacular onion rings as our "dessert." Service is always good. Lunch time is always crowded.

Baltimore Landmark since 1982, and all the original patrons and their parents are still coming. Ambiance of darkened elegance mixed with light comfort actually works. So the bar has heavy furniture with lots of light so you can read the menu with glasses and magnifying glasses. Wife walkways for walkers (when I came there was a walker jam at the front door). So people can get by with walkers, wheelchairs and other assistance devices (some people only used canes). Food was good! Crabcake had lots of crab and the 5 oz'er was perfect size for a meal since bread was complementary. Cole slaw was good and desserts were definitely sweet enough. Bring your parents, grandparents and great grandparents and everyone will have a good time

During my recent trip back to Baltimore, my friends and I made reservations for four on a Saturday night. I'll admit, I was convinced my GPS had failed me when it led me into a business park. Just when I was ready to question my phone's navigation , BlueStone appeared like a hidden gem. The restaurant was large and looked upscale from the outside with plenty of free parking, making the first impression even better. We were seated immediately, and the hostess greeted us with a genuine smile that made us feel right at home. The ambiance is warm and inviting with a perfect blend of casual elegance. There are several dining spaces throughout the restaurant, including private rooms that would be ideal for birthdays, rehearsal dinners, or other special occasions. Our server was attentive without hovering and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our evening. We kicked things off with cocktails, including a French 75, White Cosmo, and Blackberry Bandit. Every drink was expertly crafted, but the French 75 was the undeniable star of the night, I enjoyed it so much I ordered a second. When it came to dinner, my friends all chose the crab cake entrée and they all enjoyed their food ( they are locals), proving that Bluestone knows exactly what they are doing when it comes to a well made crab cake. I ordered the Ocean & Gulf entrée. My dish included a jumbo lump crab cake, deep-sea scallops, and Gulf shrimp served over forbidden black rice with sautéed vegetables in a honey garlic beurre blanc. Every component was cooked perfectly, and the flavors blended together so well that each bite felt like a little celebration. It was one of those meals where the conversation pauses because everyone is too busy enjoying the food. As if dinner wasn't enough, we finished with Taharka Brothers Honey Graham and Vanilla Bean ice cream. It was creamy, rich, and the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. BlueStone exceeded my expectations from the moment I pulled into the parking lot until the last spoonful of dessert. Great service, good prices, decent portions and expertly prepared food and cocktails. Definitely an atmosphere that's perfect for everything from date night, a family celebration, to a girls' night out. This has officially earned a spot on my list of must visit restaurants every time I come back to Baltimore.

Brunch was understood here. The French toast was very nice and not heavy despite its massive quantity. The flavors complimented each other all the way until the last bite. The Montecristo sandwich was balanced savory and sweet flawlessly. This was a hearty selection and could be shared with two. The cheese grits had to be made by someone's grandma IYKYK. The cowboy bacon I could just have a tray of it as it was a flavor bomb covering heat, sweet, salty, savory, and smokey. The staff was super friendly and accommodating working as a team. The table next to me was promptly provided with hot fries upon request due to the original order being "cold". A few minutes passed by and boom hot fresh fries. Like many other reviewers, we found it very difficult to locate the restaurant within the plaza. Once we arrived, we were seated quickly, and the initial service was prompt. I also want to acknowledge one aspect of the service that I genuinely appreciated. As someone with celiac disease, dining out can be stressful, yet the staff were attentive to my dietary needs, offered several safe options, and clearly communicated which items might not be appropriate for me to eat. That level of awareness and consideration made me feel welcomed and cared for, and I am grateful for it. Hence, I feel comfortable, providing one star for that purpose. That being said, there were a few moments later when we had trouble finding our waitress after requesting changes to our order. Unfortunately, the changes to our order ultimately became necessary because the food simply was not good. My husband and I both ordered the shrimp and grits. I ordered mine without sausage, while he kept it as prepared. The grits were gummy, sticky, and overly cheesy, something I never imagined I would complain about. As a Black Indigenous American woman, shrimp and grits represents far more than a menu item to me. It is a dish shaped by generations of cultural exchange and resilience, drawing from Indigenous corn traditions and the culinary practices carried by African ancestors and preserved within Gullah Geechee communities. Because of that rich heritage, I hold this dish in high regard. Unfortunately, this version felt disconnected from the flavors, textures, and history that make shrimp and grits such a meaningful part of Southern food traditions. My husband ultimately sent his meal back and ordered the fish sandwich instead, which he also found disappointing. I added an egg to my dish in hopes that it might improve the experience, but it arrived long after I had already lost the desire to continue eating. I was also surprised that, in a state with such a strong military presence, particularly in Baltimore, there didn't offer a military discount. What saddens me most is that we chose this restaurant over several other options because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I believe honest reviews matter, both for future customers and for owners who genuinely want feedback to improve. We spent our money expecting a memorable treat to celebrate my recovery and instead left feeling disappointed and regretful. Looking back, I wish I had asked for a refund while we were there. Honestly, my husband is still upset upset that he spent his money. Despite having the funds available, he believes we would've been better off having a meal at home.

The second time, I treated myself to breakfast and bought pancakes, scrambled eggs and scrapple. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy. The eggs were simple and very good. The scrapple on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment. Usually scrapple is cut about a half inch thick- the cooks at Hampton cut their scrapple so thin that it's like eating scrapple chips. I was taken aback by the presentation of it. Aside from that very minor issue, the rest of what I had was very good. Fast forward to today, I had the strongest craving for a taco salad! I chose beef with all of the fixings- lettuce, tomato, pico, cheese, black beans, and sour cream. It was all placed inside of a delicious, crunchy, fried bowl shaped tortilla. I rushed home and tore into that bowl like a grizzly bear! It was very delicious. The only very small gripe I had about the meal was the lettuce. Romaine lettuce was used instead of iceberg lettuce. There were a bit of romaine chunks that threw me off, but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the salad. I forgot to snap a picture, but took a snapshot of my demolished meal. Nothing was left behind. If you're near Hampton for lunch, check them out! The next sandwich I have my eye on is the Rueben.
