BUT I can honestly say the teachers need to do BETTER! First of all there is too many kids in one class 15-20 in a class your child will not get the care and attention they need, at least in my opinion. If your child has a runny nose or face dirty they never took the time to wipe their face, will be picked up with crusty dried up boogies. They have an app for update but most of the time you will not be sent pictures or updates besides the diaper change/or lunch(snack). I don't think they clean as well as they should, I can tell not only how my kids looked at pick up but how their classrooms smelled, sticky floors you can definitely tell if a poopy diaper was changed. My kids caught hand foot and mouth, strep multiple times being there, it was the worst. The toddler bathrooms were dirty and not cleaned, they let both boy and girl go to the restroom at the same time, in my opinion should not be allowed. It seemed like they were always short staffed, you never got the same teacher when dropping off or picking up the kids. If you have a picky eater the lunches there are not the best. My kids would come home hungry every day, if we got pictures of the food it did not look appetizing at all. You provided blankets pillows for nap but half the time they are using other kids things and not what you provided.

We were one of the first families at Kiddie Academy of Grayslake when they opened in 2021. We…read moreeventually enrolled both of our young children and for a decent amount of time were happy with the care and enriching educational environment provided by Kiddie Academy. However, all of that changed after a DCFS incident which involved our youngest son and one of the teachers. The entire situation was incredibly upsetting, but we felt as though Kiddie Academy at the time took appropriate action. The teacher was fired immediately and Academy wide training took place. We hoped that it was simply a "bad apple." We made the decision to pull our kids from the care of Kiddie Academy about a year and a half after that first incident when our older son also had a DCFS incident with another teacher. The directors response to that incident after reviewing the footage was so passive that we no longer felt that the safety and care of our children was a top priority. It felt more as though there was a protection of the teacher and the institution happening. Additionally, with this now being the second incident that our family was involved in there seem to be a more widespread problem. It has taken six months for our son to recover from the emotional damage that incident caused. We feel as though Kiddie Academy of Grayslake failed our children in not providing the most basic care and safety to them and we were extremely sad to be leaving under these circumstances.  I have really wrestled with whether or not to post this review, but upon hearing that a coworker of mine had considered this care provider without knowledge of our experience, I am finally making the decision to put our story out there.

My experience with the Round Lake Beach center was very disappointing. I transitioned my daughters…read moreto the center in November 2017 and withdrew them 4 weeks later. In retrospect, I should have withdrawn them sooner. Although the Assistant Directors were very compassionate and professional, the center was poorly managed. For example, despite multiple communications verbally/in writing about my children's start date, the assigned teachers seemed oblivious that new children were joining their classrooms. My children's 1st day was chaotic because the teachers were not expecting them. I requested a cubby for my daughters at least 3 times before they were assigned cubbies. I also suspect that my youngest daughter's enrollment exceeded the classroom's capacity because she was never assigned a cot - instead she slept on a different child's cot daily. My oldest daughter (age 6) was sexually propositioned (in writing) by a 9 year old child on her 1st day. The center Director claimed the incident was addressed with the child's parent. However, there was no evidence that the incident was addressed. During the 4 weeks my children were enrolled, they played outside less than 5 times. My oldest daughter was told that they couldn't go outside because it was dark by 4:30. I understood the issue with it being dark by 4:30, but what stopped the teachers from adjusting the schedule and sending the children out at 3:00? I can't imagine being in a room with 20+ kids all day with zero outside time. The centers only strengths included diversity amongst the children and the reasonably priced tuition (it was lower than surrounding centers). However, I was told the weekly tuition included phonics classes. Yet, my daughter never received one phonics lesson while she was enrolled. In addition, despite the diversity amongst the children there was virtually no diversity amongst the staff. Overall, I would rate the center less than 1 star because it was poorly managed, unstructured, and disorganized. Communication between staff/parents was limited and follow through from staff was inconsistent. Based on my experience with this center, I would caution others from enrolling their children in the center - unless changes are implemented.

Ms Kelli, Ms Nikki and Ms Danielle are kind and very easy to talk to regaurding any concerns or questions. I always feel they are well informed and address things promptly. They treat my children with so much love and respect I couldn't imagine sending them to a different school. My older daughter had a wonderful experience with her Toddler teacher Ms Michelle. She was so willing to help us potty train our child at an early age. The teachers worked hard to keep her challenged and learning! Ms Michelle and my daughter still have a great relationship. My baby is always happy to see Ms Michelle in the morning at drop off time. It makes leaving her much easier! The twos teachers were also amazing! Ms Erica, Ms Jess and Ms Genisis all loved my daughter, treated her wonderfully and always kept her engaged. She can be a handful (what child isnt!) But these ladies were always positive, kept me well informed and worked with us when faced with a challenge. Our three year old teachers Ms Kate and Ms Kim are fabulous too!! Again, we are well informed about our child's day and her development. She is learning so much!! They call me with questions or concerns about my child and are great partners in helping us raise her. My daughter comes home telling us all sorts of fun things jer teachers did. She clearly loves being with them!! I also have to mention Ms Calli, the phonics teacher-our daughter raves about her! We get weekly notes on her progress and ideas to support her learning at home. Our infant daughter is also having an awesome experience at the center. Ms Lyndsey is so sweet with the babies treats them with such love and tenderness. We love the photos and projects that are sent home! As a mom, I wish I could be with my girls all thr time. When they are at KinderCare I know they are safe, happy, being very well cared for and learning. I cant ask for more. I truly love love love our center and ALL the teachers and center management. We are very pleased and can't imagine a world without our KinderCare!
