Absolutely adorable niche German deli/store/restaurant tucked in an industrial area. We walked in and the German woman who helped us was a delight. She made recommendations about dishes and how to have them. I got a chicken schnitzel sandwich and German potato salad. Unbelievably delicious! I would go back again and again. My husband got sauerbraten and mashed potatoes. He did not live his as much, but he did eat the other half if my sandwich and raved. We also picked up some cookies for the road. The oatmeal raisin were stars. I don't know what they put in them, but it's the first time in my like an oatmeal raisin cookie outshined a chocolate chip cookie! Check them out! read more

One of the very hidden gems in Naples. Not on a main road located in a somewhat industrial area unassuming building. You have to know of this place to want to shop here. I have sampled sausages, potato salad, head cheese, and pastries. The German potato salad is as close to my German grandmother's potato salad I have eaten. One little warning on German potato salad it is has a strong vinegar base and taste. The I tried the landjaeger sausage. While readily available in St. Louis I was happy to find it in Naples. Landjaeger is kind of a German summer sausage but extremely thin like thin pepperoni. My opinion is this is top notch and if you're looking for something to try this would be a good choice. Yes they have strudel. They also sell out of strudel fast. I was lucky to score some apple strudel. With reference and reverence to my grandmother K this is a pure slice of German heaven. Head cheese is not longer made in the original way. Boiled pig's head. I find this head cheese to be good but just does not have the flavor of the "old style". It is also less gelatinous which will make most people happy. I have only purchased from the butchers cooler and not purchased anything from the shelves. My German is mostly curse words that my grandmother and father used on me so it is somewhat useless trying to figure out all the products. :) read more

First time here, so I was a bit nervous. I don't go down Radio Rd. too often. Today I wanted to eat lunch with my kids so I decided to get myself something different. I like trying foods from places I have never been to. I found this hole-in-the-wall deli shop and said why not. As I walked in I noticed how clean, organized, and so authentic the inside looked. All the people working there were so kind and friendly. I had some great suggestions from the dried meats, to spreads, and all the way down to the hot foods. I was recommended the fish or the swedish meatballs. I couldn't decide on just one so I got both. The fried fish was paired with a fresh, bright cucumber tomato salad and an egg with potato salad. The fish was fresh, the batter was crispy and flavorful. The fish had the right amount of everything. My favorite so far. And the swedish meatballs were paired with mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. I also ordered a slice of the lemon berry marscapone cake and a slice of chocolate cake (I forgot the name of the cake! Black something)... Everything was great and I can't wait to tell others about Pepper's! read more

I have always enjoyed German food here and abroad. I have been to Peppers on a number of occasions and generally stock up and freeze some of the food. It has always been absolutely delicious. We were looking for a lunch stop between The Keys and North Port. Found this place randomly online and SO glad we did. Right off the highway, small business owned, delicious and authentic! I split the Rachel with Swiss and German mustard with my Mom. We got the spaetzle and cucumber salad for sides and a cup of beef barley and a cabbage soup. Everything was phenomenal. The rye was the softest I have ever had and I have never had such good cabbage soup. Dad bratwurst & kraut with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. We left with a pound of kraut for home it was so good. Also picked up some potato pancakes, Bavarian Swiss cheese, a Bavarian breakfast sausage, baked ham and goulash. Excellent!! Always fresh and everything that is homemade there in the store is fresh as well. We live in Stuart on the Atlantic side and every time we come to Fort Myers and Naples area to visit friends we make a point of stopping in at Pepper's Deli. I always buy the freezer German hard rolls and set them on ice for the 3 Hour Dr. back to the East Coast and when I'm ready to eat them I pulled one or two out of the freezer, bake them, and they are just as fresh as if you were in Germany eating one for breakfast. All of their luncheon meats and everything else ... their homemade salads, etc., everything is fantastic. read more

A big choice of deli meats with a variety of sides Lets not forget sausages. They have been here since about 2007 so they must be doing something right. Finally made it to Pepper's after multiple times of trying their ruben sandwich to-go at work. I think this is a great place to grab a hearty lunch compared to typical American fast food options in the area. The ruben sandwich is still delicious! Also the creamy cauliflower soup, red cabbage, and spaetzle are all worth a try! I would avoid the plain cheese cake and the mashed potatoes. They have a decent little market section stocked with various German groceries. The only thing that really put me off was the attitude of the staff taking the lunch orders. We walked up and she pretty much barked at us what we wanted, then seemed annoyed when we wanted additional food. It was only the one person though, everyone else was nice. read more

Fantastic store, well worth the trip. This place is very easy to miss, as it sits on a side road, and is hardly noticeable from there. Apparently it is well-known though, as they were doing a brisk business. They have a grocery section, prepared foods, desserts, and plenty of German meats and cheeses. Just... meh. Perhaps our hopes were just too high, but this place fell way short. J's liverwurst was super-soft and creamy (though she seemed to like it that way); E's blood&tongue was surprisingly "blah," the GERMAN POTATO SALAD had NO VINEGAR and tasted more like chicken gravy with potatoes floating in it... B&I had turkey reubens (I know, I know -- but I have to maintain SOME sense of healthfulness, don't I?!) -- but the sauerkraut was also bland (what?! did they RUN OUT of vinegar?!). At the end of the day, they definitely have a good selection of items to choose from (it's entirely possible that we simply chose wrong...), and if we were going to be here for another week or more, we'd certainly hit them up again for their ham hocks cooked in sauerkraut (available ONLY on Saturdays -- call ahead for yours!). They have a small grocery along with their hot and cold displays. Their dining area is a little small for the traffic they get at peak times, so going before 11:45 or after 1 would be recommended if you plan to stay and don't want to compete/share a table. No masks! This was my favorite shopping venue for German items, especially bread. In late September i shopped and was helped by a young saleswoman who I thought wore clear safety glasses to cover her mouth instead of a mask. When she also checked me out I mentioned to her that her device did not protect her nor me. She said the deli is "mask optional." There is no such warning on the outside, only a lengthy document addressing COVID-19 safety measures, including the wearing of masks. When this young woman told me that she had no concern for herself and shrugged her shoulders at my comment regarding concern for me, I did get angry, because I fall into the at-higher-risk category and said something unkind to her about her understanding how the virus works. As soon as I put my groceries in my car I regretted my reaction and walked back in to apologize, when I saw the manager (owner?) wearing the same type of contraption. I walked back out because I realized further pursuit of this issue would be fruitless. Shoppers beware. read more

I would eat here DAILY if I could afford it! Love this family-owned deli! The hot lunches are made fresh daily. An excellent selection of sausages (try the gelbwurst). These people have accumulated many years of school and training to perfect their art of perfect proteins, and it shows. So happy to have found this treasure in Naples! My favorite dish is the schnitzel (of course) with mashed taters and rotkraut. Peppers also has a fine selection of imported chocolates. We loved the store because it provides all the ingredients neccesary to german cooking & baking at home.
