Larry's Lunch Box Deli is the kind of place people hope to discover but rarely do anymore. If you're looking for a real deli sandwich, this is it. Bagel with cream cheese? Perfect. Split pea soup? Exactly what you want it to be. Tuna sandwich? Fantastic. Corned beef? The real deal. Honestly, some mornings I wake up already thinking about what I'm going to order at Larry's. This place is a hidden gem and absolutely deserves the praise and accolades it gets. The food is consistently excellent, the portions are generous, and the staff keeps things moving with great attitudes even when the place is busy. And to the people leaving one-star reviews whining about prices -- give me a break. Larry's is serving quality food, made right, in a time when most places cut corners. The staff works hard and somehow still manages to stay upbeat while dealing with some of the winter crowd's most ungrateful, ingratiating, self-absorbed A&$*^'s. We had breakfast at Larry's and we enjoyed all aspects of eating here. The cafe is inside a very nice grocery story. Our food was excellent. They don't use stale or hard biscuits with their biscuits and gravy making the dish absolutely delicious. My husband had "Jerry's chunky cinnamon French toast" and it was delicious. It smelled amazing and tasted like cinnamon rolls but not too sweet. Our service was friendly, efficient and patient. The restaurant was spotless! read more

The place is located in a high traffic strip mall off of 41 (Tamiami Trail). Not a real deli but a quick service restaurant with high priced sandwiches/soups/salads/burgers. The corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are $22 each with only a pickle and no side. The burgers are cheaper at $10.95. Paid $35 for a pastrami sandwich, cup of matzo ball soup, and a ginger ale. You can go to Goldie's Restaurant for $12.99 with a pickle and coleslaw or potato salad. The matzo ball soup was good and didn't taste like dishwater. Coming from NYC and Miami this place is not worth the hype. read more

I have not lived in a city with good delis since 1986. Anytime I find one in my travels, I become euphoric. Larry's Lunchbox Delicatessen North is one such place. (They have another location which I assume is the same but I never got there-just went back here several times). Larry's is a small storefront in a busy strip shopping center. Seating is both inside and outside. You simply order and pay at the counter and they bring you your food. Really nice people run this place. I ordered a corned beef sandwich on rye. (I have given up ordering these at home because I'm always disappointed) Simply put, I cannot remember having a sandwich this good in a long time. Corned beef was warm and lean and the rye was soft but firm enough to support a massive portion of meat. I savored every bite. The corned beef was so outstanding, I bought a pound for a friend we were visiting (instead of a bottle of wine). My wife enjoyed her grill cheese and tomato sandwich with a bowl of matzo ball soup. We also split an order of potato latkes. Locals are so fortunate to be able to come here whenever they want. We have to squeeze our visits in during our month in Naples. Came here on a recommendation from my daughter's friend. Not sure it's always like this, but they seemed a little understaffed as the woman taking orders and bagging was also the waitress for 12 tables. She handled it well, but they were pretty busy. Ordered a Turkey and American, a Turkey and cheddar, a roast beef and provolone and Marci's Main Mover (a Turkey sloppy joe for those in the know) and two small bags of chips. The order was pricey, but I didn't realize they were pretty stacked sandwiches until after I ordered and saw people taking half their sandwiches to go. The sandwiches were good, though wifey and my daughter didn't like the roll-more like a potato roll than a Kaiser roll. I also had no idea my sandwich was going to be grilled...it was good, but I was thrown off. My wife and I shared a Cliff's Cosmic Connection with fries and their amazing pasta salad. Came to this location because the other was closed for their anniversary ( so cute). I wish someone would have told me I could order a half sandwich, because I ordered Cliff's Cosmic Connection (pastrami (but you can have hot corned beef instead), swiss \cheese, russian dressing and slaw on rye bread) and it was SOOO GOOD that I couldn't stop eating my sandwich even though I know I should have. Overall a very solid choice for lunch. They were pretty busy when we went in but moved folks thru very quickly. Limited seating I if they are really busy but that seemed to move as well. Sandwiches were huge and tasty. I had a chicken meltdown which was a huge marinated chicken breast with cheese onions and mushrooms. Bun was definitely fresh. My wife had a Monte Cristo sandwich which was piled high with tons of meat and cheese. As there are so many Delicatessen Restaurant's all over SWFL this was an absolute diamond in the rough. It's a weird strip mall with clothing and a lamp and electronics store. First , their soups are no joke. Matza , Pea Soup and Chicken Noodle are all killer. Then onto the sandwiches Rueben , Turkey Ruben and Philly Cheese Steak ... a #6 and two # 6 (one with Turkey) . Just there today after having mentioned this place to people we met earlier. The pastrami sandwich was of course great!! The seeded rye bread so fresh, lean pastrami and the side of cole slaw VG!!! My only gripe I'd the pickle. Wish it was a Kosher dill. Not these cucumber pickles. But I enjoyed the sandwich sooo much! A small delicatessen serving a variety of hand-crafted sandwiches located in a small strip mall. We were in the area and needed a quick lunch and this place fit the bill. Two in our group split the chicken salad sandwich (plenty big to split and pretty good tasting) while I opted for the French dip sandwich -- a huge hoagie piled with roast beef. I also added provolone cheese and it came with a good amount of beef broth for dipping. I ended up not finishing it as it was pretty big and I kept coming across bits of grisly pieces. I have been to Larry's lunchbox deli twice now and have been very impressed. It's a New York style deli with all of the sandwiches that I love especially the hot pastrami. The woman who took my order (I believe she was the owner?) seemed very stressed that day. With that said she was also determined to ensure I got exactly what I asked for-a great Reuben and a great Pastrami sandwich made with kosher meats. Perhaps the stressed owner bickering with her kitchen guy is part of the ambiance and charm of this well known and very busy little spot.
