    Paper Dosa

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very delicious food and great ambiance![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and the decor and plate set ups were very thoughtful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed our time here and the food was delicious! We got the paper dosa which was massive. I think almost 4 feet long but thin so don't be intimidated by it. Two people can tackle it for sure. We also got an apricot curry and a shrimp appetizer which were also delicious but I think the dosa might be my favorite. Parking in the area is pretty easy and I'd come back.

This place is located on Moody st in Waltham, in the restaurant district - if you will. There is street parking, but it can be hard to find. However, there are municipal lots near by if needed. This restaurant initially opened as purely vegetarian, but now they offer meat dishes! This is the best change and I'm sure it has opened up business to a lot more people. The people are very friendly here. Once you enter, someone runs to the door to great you, offer you a seat and water while you wait for your takeout. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looks clean and the food is packaged well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've had indian food from many places and I'd say this place is good. All of the meat dishes we ordered (Chicken Tikka masala, kebab platter, goat biryani) had really tender pieces of meat. The meat portions within each dish is considered pretty generous as well. The veggie pakora was the standout dish for me, but a tad on the salty side. The garlic naan did not have any garlic flavoring at all (the only disappointment for me, but the family still enjoyed it). The kebab platter was good and I'd recommend it for any meat lovers. Only via this platter can you get the goat kebab, as I didn't see an option to get just that version on the menu. If you haven't tried this place out, you should. They now offer a wide enough selection to satisfy any one. Pricing is reasonable, food is fresh, and service is good.

We went here on a weekend. Luckily found parking on the street between all the snow. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is much bigger now from last year and has non veg on the menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon entering they asked if we were going to order non veg or veg only and were seated accordingly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is refreshing and pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was very nice. We ordered makkai ki roti with saag and Hyderabadi baingan and goat khorma and garlic naan. Our lunch tasted delicious and we had some leftovers to take back home.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was great and our food was served within 15 minutes of ordering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would go again! The restaurant has expanded since it first opened and now offers meat and fish dishes in addition to vegetarian food. I tried the Sham Savera, which was delicious. The servers told me the recipes are inspired by Chef Ranveer Brar (popular Indian Chef; Chef Peppino has apparently worked with him in the past).

Came here with my family last week right before Christmas. When we arrived, we were asked whether we wanted the vegetarian side or the regular side. I wasn't aware that the restaurant was no longer completely vegetarian, but I was so thankful that they do have two different sides to ensure a complete vegetarian menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was way bigger than when I came a year ago and the ambiance and service was just as amazing as I remembered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu was vast with some fun specials and clearly labeled vegan dishes, as well as which dishes could be made vegan. The dishes we got were samosas, pakoras, aloo mutter and a spicy garlic dosa. I loved everything we ordered but the spicy garlic dosa really stood out with its unique flavors and the spice from the garlic was so warming in my throat. I loved the texture of the samosas and pakoras which were perfectly crispy and well seasoned. The presentation of each dish is so gorgeous. The server was so sweet and even gave us a free bottle of wine to go! Parking can be a little bit of a challenge, but we were able to find a spot on Moody ST two blocks away!

Came here during their lunch hours where they have a buffet. The staff were very friendly and available to answer questions. They have street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and had a nice bar setup.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The buffet had an array of options to choose from. The naan was hot and fresh tasting great with the paneer tikka. It tasted just how my mom makes it. The channa was also very filling. I would love to come back to try their dosa.

Came here without a reservation on a Tuesday evening and were seated promptly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely decor and very helpful staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Have come here a few more times since my initial review and the food never disappoints! Peppino's Dosa has become my favorite vegetarian Indian restaurant in the area. They also have an adjacent non-vegetarian restaurant next door that we can't wait to try either!

the food was great, but our server was rushing us a lot even though it was still an hour to closing.

On our way to our friend's house from TD Garden, we stopped at this place for dinner as we were craving for some Indian food. They named this place as a dosa place so we had to try their dosas. Although most of the food in their menu looked to be from the north India. We ordered masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa. It looked amazing when it came out of the kitchen. Masala dosa was perfectly crispy. Mysore masala dosa has a nice look to it too. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't as great as what we expected. We have had dosa's from various places, but this one did not live up to our expectations. Sambar was too liquidated and chutneys lacked the flavor. I think the best bet would be to try North Indian cuisine at this place. Ambiance was good and service was top notch. Our waiter was so nice.

I was so excited to try the food here but it was nothing but super average. The service was average, nothing to write home about. They were not personable at all and the whole process felt very automated. It took forever to flag someone if we needed something. The service was what you would generally get from a small take out place and not from a proper sit down restaurant. We had the empty plates sitting on the table for what felt like forever. And mind you they didn't seem short on staff. We had different servers throughout our entire dinner-, one took our order, different staff server different dishes, someone else cleared the table and someone different brought the check. The food was very average. the medu vada was dry and hard from inside, it is supposed to be fluffy. The cauliflower 65 was tasty. The rava dosa and sambar was not good. The pav bhaji felt like masala overload. We also tried tikki chaat, the tikki was still cold from the center. Bathrooms were very clean. The restaurant had a good vibe but given the food and service, I don't think we will come back again.

My family and I was craving Indian food today and one of our Indian friends recommended this (new…read moreto us) place in Watertown (near/behind the Lexus dealership). It was convenient to get to with plenty of parking up front. Its about 5 minutes from Arsenal Yards. The restaurant looks pretty modern and trendy, with several tables on the side for dining in. I was promptly greeted upon entry with a smile. Picking up my takeout order was easy and quick. Food was packaged well and secure - important for this cuisine as you don't want to lose any of the sauces! The food portions are really good and pricing is pretty reasonable given the times, and pricing of similar restaurants in the area. More importantly, the quality and tastes of the food was exquisite! Good Indian food takes time and care in preparation to ensure the flavors are balanced with properly prepared ingredients. The texture of the meats and veggies were spot-on, with great balance in flavor. It wasn't overbearing and I think their flavors are flexible enough to cater to most palates. The chicken 65 was surprisingly not soggy, given this was take out. The butter chicken was so creamy with generous chicken pieces that were tender but not falling apart. The chicken tikka had great flavors and similarly well prepared chicken pieces. The garlic naan was actually flavorful, and is very evidently crafted onsite vs mass produced. The chicken biriyani was probably the standout dish. It was prepared with fluffy basmati rice with a great blend of spices (and color) and tender chicken pieces. I liked that the onions for some of the dishes were large cut and easily removed, as not everyone in the family likes onions. The only critique for the place is that there were no paper menus for old heads like myself that still prefers to look over it prior to ordering. Luckily, the online ordering experience was simple and straight forward. I created a Toast account in the process and hope it will be even easier going forward. You can even specify the spice level for most dishes. Overall, Chennai Eats is a wonderful addition to the local community. The place is clean, the food is tasty and a family could get full and happy without breaking the bank. I look forward to trying this place again, and exploring some of their other offerings. I'm also glad to have found a closer alternative to quality Indian food, vs going all the way out to Godavari.

Ghee Masala Dosa (7.5/10): Also my first time having dosas, so it's hard for me to judge how good they are relatively. Nonetheless, they were super tasty! I loved the ghee flavor. Texture was great. Masala filling was pretty good, but I think any other filling would have been fine as well. Chicken 65 (9.5/10): FANTASTIC. The chicken was oh so tender while also being fried to perfection. I have not had this kind of fried chicken from an Indian restaurant before. Flavors were also on point with just a hint of spicy. Butter Chicken (9/10): Delicious!! Great balance of flavors. Chicken was tender. Service was good. Prices are very fair, either average or below average. We'll definitely be back!!!

Indian is one of my favorites and this was a fairly short drive from our hotel in Waltham. We made a reservation but that did not seem to be at all necessary. It was a Monday night and it was not particularly busy. We were seated right away. They featured a very pleasant dining room and we were able to secure a table by the front window. This was a great spot and added to our experience. The service was very good. We were attended to quickly and well cared for throughout our time there. The food came out in a timely manner well presented at the appropriate temperature. My colleague opted for the Creamy Coconut Chicken. I tried a bite of this and was favorably impressed. In addition, he had a Mango Lassi to which he also gave a thumbs-up. I had the Fish Curry, which I ordered at a medium level in terms of spice. It was very tasty as it had just the right amount of kick. He ordered the Garlic Naan to accompany his meal while I had my favorite type of Indian bread (my favorite type of bread period, really) Peshwari Naan. We were both happy with these choices. I also had a glass of cabernet which turned out to be a decent choice. Our final bill that included food, drinks, tax and tip was $86. At $43 per person in this inflationary time, I was happy enough with the value given the quality of the fare and the overall experience. I would be happy to make a return visit.
