The first batch of Naan was incredible. The best I've ever had. It was warm and fluffy and full of garlic and butter. It was the best. I ordered more, but the next round was a bit stale and fishy tasting. The owner ended up not charging me for that one. I hope when I return I get the fresh Naan. It was truly the best I've ever had. Bollywood chicken wings were good. Definitely recommend trying them. The chicken Tikka masala is my go-to dish and it was quite good here. I will certainly return. Get take out from here or dine in. We were in the mood for Indian cuisine take out and this restaurant didn't disappoint at all. We ordered chicken chettinadu, lamb boti kebab, saag paneer, bhindi masala, and a plain naan. They came with a lot of basmati rice. Everything was scrumptious. The lamb kebab was slightly over cooked and tough but because the flavor was so great we didn't mind. The bhindi masala was deeply satisfying for me, as I love this dish and this restaurant does it very well. Not every dish photographs well when on the plate so I have photos of only two of the dishes and the menu. Definitely coming back here again when I'm craving Indian cuisine. read more

Arriving for lunch as we drove by, and glad we did. The foot traffic was mostly delivery. The table service was friendly and not rushed. The food was killer. Mixed grill had a lot of meat, the curry I had was a version I hadn't had before and the sauce was just perfect. Teh meas in both, where cooked well, flavorful and tender. The real surrise was teh kale pakoras. Which were crispy, not oily and plentiful. This place is only minutes from our house, vs 30m for our go-to Indian food place in Woburn, Godavari. I have to say, their Chicken 65 is amazing here. Good portions and still tasted good even after bringing it home. It was only $10, and possibly $8 if you call them direct vs ordering on their website. (why do people charge more for ordering online???). The biryani was okay, also had decent amounts of goat pieces (with bone). I couldn't find Goat curry so I got the closest dish that mentioned curry, and picked Goat. The garlic naan was kind of blah, we won't get that again for sure. The meal ringed in around $50. We'll go back, especially for the chicken 65 at the least. 3.5 stars for now. read more

Decent place. Here are some notes: Kale Pakora - fascinating concept to use kale in pakora. Wish I had them right out of the fryer though; gets a tad soggy and a tad colder when eating from the takeout container. Saag Paneer - spinach is velvety smooth, and there is plenty of paneer cubes. Flavors a bit undifferentiated, but generally really good Bhindi Masala - one of the weaker dishes - some okra bits were fibrous and tough; also some of the other ingredients (like the onions and the ginger) were cut too coarsely, so sometimes you end up with a big bite of ginger overpowering (texturally and flavorwise) the rest of the bite. Goat Vindaloo - goat is really tender! The tomato sauce is a bit overpowering though, perhaps some other spices could help balance it out Aloo Gobi Masala - didn't think the peppers worked here; not enough cauliflower florets, same issue with the bhindi masala (onion and ginger need to be diced more finely) I'm looking forward to coming back and trying new things! read more

We ordered garlic naan and gobi Manchurian to share; I had the karahi curry with paneer; my husband had the chicken hariyali. The naan was delicious, like most naans I've had before. The gobi manchurian was good too, but dry. I've had saucier ones in the past which I prefer. The Karahi curry was delicious, I had never had this before. It wasn't spicy but had lots of delicious Indian flavors. My husband liked the chicken hariyali, although was disappointed it didn't come with rice. Just something to note on the "from the grill" items I guess. The portions are decent. Prices are okay, comparable to other Indian restaurants. I have had better Indian food but would definitely try it again in a pinch as it's right in our neighborhood. Really wanted to like this restaurant. Initially the food looked appealing: not too greasy or heavy, but ultimately left me disappointed. I tried the naan, aloo paratha, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, shrimp madras, aloo gobi, chicken 65, tandoori chicken, seekh kabob, and dal makhni. None of the dishes were terrible, but none were particularly good. The big problems were that the none were particularly good. I have a high tolerance for salt, but all the dishes tasted over-seasoned to me. Too much salt and too much spice. I like spicy (hot) food, but the application of spices was too heavy-handed. Some dishes had too much ginger or black cardamom. The sauces were quite thick, which may have resulted in concentration of salt and spices. The curries tasted too similar to each other without much nuanced character. The meats were generally over cooked, which was particularly notable with the tandoori dishes. The naan were dry. I didn't mind the aloo paratha, but my family found it too thin and plain. I have never had Chicken 65 before. It didn't even taste Indian to me. More like chicken nuggets with hot sauce. read more

Indian takeout restaurant halfway between Waltham and Watertown Square. The menu has more traditional items, including curries of the tikka masala, korma, saag, and vindaloo varieties. I was intrigued by the house bowls, which cater to fans of rice bowls like you would find at Cava and Chipotle. There are 4 of these bowls - the "Nirvana" is a quinoa bowl with chicken kebab and lentils, the "Yogi"is a brown rice bowl with a fried soy cutlet, chickpeas, kale, and seasoned vegetables, the "Ayurveda" is a basmati rice bowl with vegetables, tofu, and raita, and the "Mantra" is a brown rice bowl with lentils, mixed greens, and lamb. I tried the Yogi bowl. The fried soy cutlet was thin and crunchy. The potato crisps are the thin potato straws you may find in the snack section of the supermarket. Brown rice was a little wet. I thought that the chickpea curry and seasoned vegetables were the best part of the bowl. While both had less heat than I'm accustomed to, they were both tasty. The kale was an interesting addition that I'm not actually sure blends the best with the rest of the dish, but I'm always a fan of extra greens. The chicken 65 was different from what I expected. Usually, chicken 65 is spicy hot. This one was a little spicy, but it reminded me more of miniature boneless buffalo chicken wings. The sauce was thick and tasted more like hot wing sauce than what I'm used to. I prefer chicken 65 that is drier and served with the dipping sauces on the side. Different style, I guess, at this restaurant. Overall - the bowls are an interesting concept that may benefit from further experimentation. Takeout was not ready when my online ordering app told me it was ready, but I didn't have to wait too long. read more

First time trying this spot, and it was overall pretty decent. I ordered the Fish Tikka Masala (Medium) with Naan. It was packed with flavor, but I found it a bit too sweet for my liking. The sweetness overpowered the whole dish, to the point where I didn't taste any spice. The fish was OK, nothing special at all. A very heavy, sweet dish. The Naan was basic. It was very thin, and tasted more like Pita Bread. A mediocre experience here at India Kitchen. Maybe I will give it another try sometime. read more

3 menus with different prices??? We ordered from this restaurant for the first time online, and were surprised at how expensive it was. We figured that, either the food quality was going to be top tier, or the quantity very large. However, once we arrived at the restaurant, we found on their take-out menu that every dish was actually $4 cheaper than it was listed online! What?? Why? When asked about this, the manager pointed us to a THIRD menu where the prices only $2 cheaper than online, and fed us some nonsense about convience fees, covid, etc. The food was not particularly impressive, and the quantity was on the small side compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Small, unassuming neighborhood spot doing lots of takeout business. I ate in. Naan, samosas, chutneys, and rice all good, but my lamb vindaloo was a standout. I encouraged my server (possibly owner or manager?) to make it as spicy as he'd ever made it. He confirmed what I was asking for, and then delivered it. My spice tolerance is freakishly high, so I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I could tell that it would have KO'ed a human. Flavor was great too, with fresh meat and medium-thick consistency to the tangy curry gravy. Would have been nice to wash it down with a Kingfisher, but they don't have alcohol here. I heard good things about India Kitchen from a friend in town and decided to check it out on Father's Day. We got the tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi masala, nan, raita, and mango lassi. I enjoyed the tandoori chicken the most. They do not skimp on the marinade and present it with a generous spinach salad with red onions, carrots, and beets! Yes, the beet slivers add an extra something special to this dish. It was a delightful surprise! Very nicely done. For that dish alone I would return. I liked the aloo gobi masala and would get it again. The chicken tikka masala was okay. I feel that I've had better. The only thing that my husband and I didn't like was how charred/overcooked/dry the nan was. Next time, we would ask them to lightly cook it instead. We ordered food from India Kitchen this week via Uber Eats and were very happy with our dinner. I enjoyed the korma with paneer, my mom enjoyed the korma with veggies, and my husband enjoyed the tikka masala with goat. We also tried the naan, aloo paratha, and rasmalai. Everything was very flavorful and met our expectations, and the prices and portion sizes were in line with other similar restaurants in the area. We also received our order quite quickly. My husband and I are very excited that a new Indian place has opened up in Watertown. We just tried them for take out and it was excellent. The Nirvana Bowl with the chicken Tikka was delicious and so were the kale pakoras. My husband had the vindaloo with veggies and was very satisfied with it and the chapati he ordered. Best indian food in Massachusetts? We've been regularly getting take out every week since they've opened and the quality is consistent. I grew up eating eating a wide range of desi food so I have high standards- and this place continues to impress me. There are a handful of other good indian resturants in the general boston area, but most of them lack consistency in quality... every time I've ordered from India Kitchen it has been perfect. I most frequently order korma (chicken, lamb, or goat), samosa, garlic naan, channa masala - I'm still working through the menu. There was one weekend that they had a biryani special - its not part of their regular menu, but they should definitely add it! My only recommendation - please stop putting lettuce garnish in the container with samosas for take out - the heat and the moisture from the lettuce makes the container steam and turns a crispy samosa soggy. I love how fast and efficient India Kitchen operates. On a few occasions and most recently this past week my pick up order was ready in under 15 minutes and the food still piping hot. After trying different Indian curry restaurants I found the curry here to be uniquely its own. For instance the Tikka masala here is heavy in tomato and the tart/sourness is noticeable but it was good. I only wish the online menu for ordering can expand. Since it has opened, India kitchen has been my favorite Indian restaurant in the Boston area. This weekend, my family ordered India kitchen twice for an engagement ceremony for 10 people. Both times, everything was given in generous quantities, piping hot, and just as good as when we order smaller quantities. Between both meals we ordered, we got the kofta, shahi paneer, daal makhni, saag paneer, gobi Manchurian, paneer tikka, vegetarian biryani, aloo parantha and naan. Basically, I can vouch for every dish from this restaurant to be very tasty and no dish overlaps each other, it doesn't feel like I'm eating the same thing.
