There is pretty much a universal theory I hold on to: The prettier the view the more mediocre the food/service/drink. Peregrin follows the theory. Don't get me wrong the space is drop dead Goregous. Loved the pool and the bar. The views are perhaps the best in Savannah! But the food and drinks....pshhhhhahhh. More punch was lacking punch and flavor. I seriously could not taste any Jamieson. Our Charcuterie plate was pretty forgettable: Really bland cheeses (hard cheeses) served with a plastic fork...like WTF? Meats were forgettable as were the accoutrements I would pass on the food. Hubby and I visited the roof top lounge area before dinner while in town for a long weekend. We absolutely loved the view! It was a gorgeous night to enjoy a drink on the rooftop. The weather was amazing that night so we got lucky. We were also able to snag a couple seats by the fire pit. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks. I ordered the Skylark and he ordered the Old Fashioned. I normally don't order vodka drinks but I felt like trying something different. I'm glad I did! The Skylark kind of reminded me of a strawberry lemonade, spiked, of course. My only complaint was that it was a little too easy to drink! Hubby enjoyed his Old Fashioned - this is his go-to drink. I tasted it and I also liked it. Not too sweet and made well. Peregrin is a cute spot in Savannah. If you're looking for a chill place to have lunch and enjoy the rooftop, this is a good place to stop by. I didn't think the view wow'd me as much as the other reviews. I do think there's better spots in Savannah specifically for thia but perhaps it's because it was daytime. However, the cocktails here were great. I got the Zulu and it was fantastic. I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised at the prices but expect to spend a bit here. Cocktails are $18 a piece. As a business owner I would fire the entire roof top staff. The bartenders are not attentive and are the furthest from polite. In Savannah GA you should be able to have an elite staff of bartenders. The bar backs stand there and also ignore the customer as I'm sure they have been instructed. There is no designation between the 2 so the bar backs just stare at you while you are waiting for service. The manager is just a butterfly walking around not paying attention to life. How can you possibly have the Kentucky Derby streaming and allow the stream to go off 10 seconds into the race. The entire bar almost lost it. This was a complete joke watching the staff scramble to figure out common sense. This bar has so much potential but clearly the management needs help. read more

I really enjoyed our experience here! We stopped in for drinks before dinner, and snagged a comfy outdoor spot with a bit of a view. They had the really good spots taped off and reserved only for hotel guests, so that was a bit of a bummer, but also I understand. They also must've removed the games that you see in pictures (maybe due to COVID?) Anyway, we had a good spot for the 6 of us. Mixed reviews from my friends on the service/bartenders attitudes, but since I'm the one writing this, I can tell you that my experience was nothing but professional and friendly. We had to go to the bar to order. They were out of one of the frozen drinks of the day, but the one remaining I thought was quite tasty (some kind of punch drink). I enjoyed The Skylark, which was a fruity, boozy, semi sweet/tart delight. I also ordered something else that was super tasty, and the bartender swapped out tequila for vodka for me, and gave me the extra which was very nice. One must do a roof top bar when in Savannah,but it's hard to pick which one is best! I had chose one closer to the river for the view, but we were in dire need of a drink when we happened to be walking around nearby. It kinda has a very cool swanky vibe, a la South Beach. I had a Butterfly Lemonade and my husband had something off menu. We also ordered the grape leaves meze which were good. We stayed at the Perry Lane Hotel this weekend and it was great! One of the things that drew me here was the rooftop bar area. We did go up each night for a round of drinks. The area is very nice, however it's way too hot up there right now. So be prepared. Most seating is barely covered and there are no outdoor fans, etc. With the social distancing, seats are limited. The drinks are pretty good but pricey. I did enjoy their sangria very much. Hubs had a margarita and didn't care for it much. We tried a frozen drink one night. It was OK. Service is VERY SLOW. You can expect to sit for 5 minutes or more before you get a server and another 10 minutes plus for drinks. Not the service you expect at a hotel of this standard. The servers are all very nice but just kind of operate on I'll get to you when I get you. They do offer a full bar and bar food. I think in the fall, this spot could be ideal. Service needs to equal what you expect in a hotel property of this caliber. read more

Came here in the late afternoon on Thursday and it wasn't crowded at all, thank goodness. This rooftop is one of the prettiest I've seen, decked out with greenery and string lights. The views are stunning - you're in the heart of Savannah and can see cathedrals left and right. Drinks are also top notch - I chose the Skylark, which was beyond tasty (that strawberry purée tho). Favorite view and best bar in Savannah! Penegrin was a little hard to find for someone who relies on Apple Maps as I do but for future lost tourists, just route to the Perry Lane Hotel and head to their rooftop once inside. It's a gorgeous hotel, new to the area, with very nice modern decor and and Abercrombie style perfume that lightly fills the rooms as you stroll through. If you have trouble finding the elevator to the roof, ask around the staff are plentiful and happy to help! As you walk out to the bar from the elevator your are overtaken with groups of laughter, stunning 360 views of the city and gorgeous plant walls that make you feel like you're in Hollywood. The service was very quick to great us and get us our deliciously refreshing frosés. I highly recommend trying even if it's slightly cold out because it's worth the fresh flavorful taste! If your not a sweet drink person there's a ton of wine, beer and cocktail options as well; something for everyone. I'm not sure if it was the day or time of year I was there but they did not have a food menu option other than a small handful of appetizer fancy dishes that didn't seem too worth the price for someone who was starving for some hardy food. So eat before, come out for drinks, enjoy the views, cornhole and outdoor games, watch the sun go down, sway to good music, and no matter what you'll have a good time! I walked here from another area downtown so I couldn't tell if there was free parking near by but I'm sure you can call the hotel and ask what their options are. There's also a pool on the rooftop, though I think it's open to guests only. The hotel has wifi as well though I wouldn't recommend bringing a laptop and working, not that scene. The moment I hear about a place with a view, I keep it in the back of my head. Finally I got the chance to show some out of town friends some of what Savannah has to offer. Situated on the roof of the Perry Hotel, you will find Peregrin, a fun hangout spot. Simply walking into the Perry Hotel, I was excited by the decor I saw on the first floor. Peregrin has cornhole and and a fooseball table, with couches, bar stools, chairs, and almost like an outdoor theatre seating area. There's enough space around here to relax and have fun with your group. I came in the evening, and the night was perfect for the outdoors. My group opted for the Elderflower Margarita. In fact, it was so tasty, we ended up getting a second one. This is part of their shareable drinks. At $35, it sounds pricey, but if you think about the fact that you can get about 5 drinks out of it, it's not a bad deal at all. This place should at least make if on your list of places to check out when in town! read more

Stop in on a Saturday afternoon with a girlfriend after spending the day playing tourist. I had heard about the hotel opening and them having a great new rooftop bar. It's a little confusing trying to find the entrance to the hotel but the staff downstairs were super helpful and nice about pointing us in the right direction. First thought, rooftop garden, clean lines, open and refreshing. I loved the ivy and plants on the wall and the fake grass. A good mix of metals, colors and textures to keep the small space fun. We chose a cushion spot on the side in the middle area. So, we could people watch with a decent view of the bean bag area, bar and view of the church and school building headquarters. It has been raining most of the day. So the clouds were beautiful and a much needed breeze was welcome after melting all day. We were greeted by three separate staff members. Two female and a male. I'm sorry I don't remember names. But they were super nice. I commented on the one girls hair since it was silver and purple like mine and the gentleman had a female flair to him but super helpful. My only negative was neither of them could suggest a good bottle of wine to match what we had been drinking earlier and when asked they were honest and explained. So we needed up getting martinis. Extreme dirty martinis & pomegranate martini served in thank goodness not the traditional glasses so you don't have oops moments every time you try and take a drink. We tried out the spice pecans since they were gluten free. Very delicious I would suggest the staff having their own areas to focus in. We noticed two others tables that were seated after us that one wasn't greeted at all and we ended up flagging our server to help them. And then another was greeted again by 3-4 different people but never the same. It may have been because it was earlier in the day and they weren't as busy. But it helps to have your area to focus on that way no one is missed and everyone is helped evenly. Bathrooms: come on every person checks out the bathrooms. Lol. They were cramped and reminded me more of a public pool bathroom then a rooftop/hotel view and the small space made it hot as in melting. Just my thoughts. Peregrin is the flagship rooftop bar of the new Perry Lane Hotel and it's everything it ought to be, which is a welcome surprise in a town which depends on tourism yet too often has substandard service. Clearly, from top to bottom, this hotel cares about a high-quality experience for its guests. Having grabbed a sandwich for lunch a few times at the deli counter downstairs I have been very impressed that the staff remembers me and always seems truly happy to see me. The caliber of service--and this certainly extends up to the bar at Peregrin--is close to what you'd find at a Four Seasons property. And that, for Savannah, is really saying a lot. But service isn't alone what makes Peregrin and the entire hotel special: the design of the rooftop lounge/pool/bar area is first-rate, very resort-minded, and offers a lot of varied things to do from drinking to talking in a secluded corner to the pool for hotel guests. Like myself, many locals also have discovered the bar and it is clearly becoming a local favorite already. The drinks are good, well-crafted as you'd expect, but the bar food really makes things special, as there are a few surprises on the menu and everything is produced by the same kitchen downstairs as the hotel's flagship restaurant (which does mean it can take a moment for food to arrive, but it's worth it--trust me). The overall feel here is very resort, very properly subtropical wandering into purely tropical and that's beyond wise: for summer we can have the tropics, but Savannah can be downright chilly come winter (as this past winter certainly proved) and the bar's enormous and delightful mural of a parrot and other playful, beach-centric, tropical touches are balanced out by the furnishings and smart use of color--it's festive and tropical without being too over the top. I came here with my dog and first impression of the hotel was 10/10. Everyone was so kind and led us to the elevator to the rooftop. The hostess was also so sweet and handed me a menu and I proceeded to the bar where the bartender made my gin cocktail and took my order. Everyone staff member was attentive and enthusiastic and the view is really nice for an out of towner. Lots of shade for my dog and the staff made sure he had fresh water.
