A couple blocks outside the historic district (so no to go drinks here), this is a great little neighborhood bar. Very intimate feel, a little out of the way, so no tourists. Limited cocktail menu, but everything is creative and refreshing. Bartender a very nice guy and attentive. They have a great little sandwich menu! And you can get half sandwiches, which is awesome! I had the three piggies, made with spam, ham, and pork shoulder. Tasty and basic! Next time I might try their cuban or one of their great looking turkey sandwiches or club. I also had the German potato salad as a side, which was dynamite. It was cold, creamy, made with bacon, and so tangy. I would also love to try their pickled veggies (spicy or regular) and cucumber salad. For drinks I had the glass garden, made with gin, herbal liqueur, bergamot, lemon, and orange. So refreshing. I also had the Heat and Haribo, made with fat washed chili crisp tequila, triple sec, mango, lime, honey, and spice. The heat was very subtle and not overplayed. Half sandwich was eight dollars (a little steep), the potato salad was four dollars, and each drink was 12 dollars (average to fair for Savannah). Hope to make it out here again sometime. read more

Talk about a "blink and you'll miss it" place. Yes, there is a sign hanging above the door with the image of a black rabbit with a couple tables and chairs outside, but if you were just walking down one street over, you wouldn't be able to experience this dive bar known as THE BLACK RABBIT. Thank technology for yelp and maps. The bar wraps around so one section is where all the patrons sit for drinks with the liquor across for them with some tables for sit downs, and the other side is where the orders are placed if you want food to go or to ask for a table. But it's more of a "if you can find one" place. Don't worry if you can't, take it go. Eat on the way to your next destination or find a bench by Forsyth Park. Very friendly service, very good sandwiches and the drinks were good as well. read more

We ended our Savannah stay here, and I'm glad we did! This place is a very small bar with maybe 20 seats inside... although they had a few tables outside in front and looked like they had some additional seating in the back. Inside is tight, you're very close to your neighbor but overall it's comfy. Good selection of beers and cocktails, even a frozen concoction called "frozen liquid marijuana" LOL... no actual marijuana in it but enough alcohol to make you feel a bit loopy I guess. Wife and I both had the Cubano half sandwich, it was delicious, you could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the pressed toasted bread was amazing. I had a side of cucumber, tomato, and onion salad that was nicely pickled, fresh, and a perfect complement to my Cubano. Finished with a slice of cheesecake, which was good and creamy. It wasn't the best cheesecake I've ever had but I enjoyed it all the same. Good experience, would recommend. read more

I was stopping through Savannah and wanted some good late night food, everything was amazing. The drinks were great and the food was so good, we got the potato salad and pickles spicy veggies as a side-- I would say those two you have to try!! And then we got the eggplant sandwich and club. A very neat little bar / restaurant that has great sandwiches and salads. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon, were met with a very nice barman / waiter, and thoroughly enjoyed our food. I've been in Savannah for a week. Would definitely recommend coming here if there's a male bartender working, the female bartender suck. It takes forever for them to notice that you're here and even longer to get a drink. I've been in the three different times, all 3 male bartenders were amazing, the woman is a different story though. I truly love this little place! The Black Rabbit has a great vibe, delicious food, wide variety of drinks and friendly staff. There's 4 or 5 tables outside and about the same amount inside plus bar seats. Last weekend I had a frozen chai sangria to go with my Cuban and it was so good! Sandwiches here are generally underwhelming. I would call each as an attempt to dress up basic Ham or Turkey with Cheese. The Three Piggies was pretty bland - nothing was bland or poorly done, but it didn't offer much in the way of a distinct flavor profile. The Club was fine, but again nothing special or novel. The vibe is a bit divey but good for an informal bite. The service is pretty attentive but the food takes a long time to arrive, which was surprising given how simple the food is. read more

Black Rabbit has discovered a portal to another dimension where every grilled cheese, eggplant stacker, and bag of chips reminds me of happy childhood lunchtimes I never had. Living right behind this culinary wonderland, I've had the immense pleasure of frequenting Black Rabbit more times than I can count. I always get a Bloody Mary, sometimes also a lemon drop shot and a grilled cheese sandwich. Despite being there almost every other day for about ten minutes due to their crazy fast service they have yet to realize how often I go. And the fact that they don't know me and give me excellent service each time is KILLER. It's not just a restaurant; it's a sanctuary for the hungover, an oasis of grilled cheese, a titan of toasted bready treats. Usually have a good time here, most typically going after 8PM. However experiences with the bartender Julia are continuously not typically positive. Was trying to order a drink and food for 10 minutes and was clearly purposefully being ignored in favor of other customers. When moving to a different area to try again, suddenly men standing where my group was are being served. Hard not to notice, but otherwise food is always enjoyable and drinks are great. read more

I visited The Black Rabbit after having brunch with friends. It was a hole in the wall bar and there were not a lot of other customers there. Apparently, this weekend was the first weekend they tried opening for brunch! Hopefully it works out for them. I ordered a Bloody Mary and an almond chocolate croissant. The bloody was very spicy and came with a variety of picked veggies as the garnish. The croissant was delicious as well! I do not think it was made in house, but hopefully was made from a local bakery. The bartender was very friendly and checked on us a few times while we were there. I noticed there was a door in the back so I went out to see what the patio was about. It was very small, I would not want to be out there with another group of people. Overall, this was a cute bar. The cubano sandwiches were delicious, the Moscow mule was perfect, garnished with the freshest sprig of mint you ever saw, the ambiance was top notch but what made the night was the presence of the fantastic bartender. Not only was he patient when my tap to pay failed me, and I had to go digging for my card, he was attentive to every patron, managing everything with ease and expertise, and the cherry on top, he spoke Spanish too! Within 5 minutes I got told that my dogs are not welcome and we need to sit outside (where there was only 3 tables and they were full) so we had to leave. I was here in September. We went late at night at the recommendation of a bartender from another place. My God. This is now one of my top five favorite bars in America. The sandwiches are impossible to describe. So great. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Loved it. read more
