Update for my review with OC - Savannah from customer service reached out regarding my experience…read moreand expressed regret over how things went and changes were actively happening at the company. She offered a free panel cleaning, which she set up internally and had their team come out this past Friday without issue. Since the cleaning the panels have been much better performing especially after these past few weeks of misting and rain, about 25% higher output. I didn't think much of it but I get now it's worth doing to get the most out of the panels. Overall a very good response and experience with OC specifically for this issue. I feel that they do want to stand out from the crowd and responding proactively to feedback gives me more confidence they'll take care of issues as they hear about them.

Every person who came out was professional and respectful. What really set them apart was handling both our full roof replacement and solar installation together. I didn't want a roofing company and solar company pointing fingers at each other down the road -- OC Solar eliminates that headache entirely. Their pricing was competitive, and their substantial warranty sealed the deal. Highly recommend them if you're considering solar!

We took a couple of months to meet up with other roof companies for quotes and ultimately hired DLS…read moreDevelopment. Spencer from DLS Development gave a great pitch, plus the quote was one of the lowest we received from almost all roofing companies. They reached out over a month later to check in and offer an additional discount. Pros: The workers did an excellent job and worked from nearly sunup to sundown. They had a few questions, which I could answer (or get my husband to answer) when I was around. It took about 4 days for them to tear off the old shingles and install the new ones. And it was hot out there! They did the work quickly, professionally, and efficiently! One of the crew members performed a walk-through with my husband once they finished, and my husband was very pleased with the finished product. I feel very grateful looking at my roof now, since the old one was very old. Cons Once we signed the contract and paid the initial deposit, we were told that the permit for our house needed to be pulled and that it would take about a week. Almost two weeks later, I asked the project manager if she had pulled the permit and when the project could begin. She then let me know the roofers would begin the following week. I guess I hoped that the project manager would have reached out to me first to let me know that the permit situation was complete and that they would begin the roofing process. You need to take initiative and find out what's happening, since I've never had a roof replaced before. Next, the project manager informed us they discovered and replaced rotted wood. The project manager sent us a change order for the additional amount, yet the contract did not list any extra charge for rotted wood. Additionally, they had already replaced the "rotted wood" before we signed anything, and they had no clear photos showing any rotted wood. It took a lot of emails and texts back and forth before we reached a resolution we were happy with. Still, it was a headache and frustrating for several days; we had to deal with uncertainty and explanations. Finally, the project manager never confirmed when the inspector for the last inspection would actually come to our house to collect my signature on a form. We didn't know whether we needed to be at home, leave the document out somewhere, or when the process would officially end. I received an email from the project manager asking me to reply and attach the form with my signature, as the inspector had come around but could not collect it because I was not there. I replied to the email with the form and asked the project manager if I needed to do anything else. Only when I reached out again to the general DLS development general email was I told what day the inspector would come around again to collect the form. We're thrilled with the roof and the quality of work, but it would've been less of a headache to have a lot of this information up front without having to keep asking, since I'm unfamiliar with the roof process. I also had to email the general DLS development email, as the project manager was not responding to some questions and concerns as quickly as I would've liked. I know she probably had a million things going on, but it felt like I got a response much quicker once I emailed through the general company email. This was not a cheap project, and I feel like this company lacks clear communication, but their workers and work are absolutely outstanding.

Carlos came out did some rewiring told us to have a CAT 5 cable ran to have a direct connect for our app and then he would come back to ensure everything was working properly. Before the CAT 5 was installed the inverter stopped working again. I called Carlos, he said to give him a call the following week because he had a big job out of town. No problem. I totally understand. I tried to reconnect with him several times. Sometimes he picks up sometimes he doesn't. Last time we spoke we picked a tentative appointment date for him to come out. When I called him to confirm he wouldn't return my call. This has gone on for over a month and a half. Disappointed and a waste of time to say the least especially because he had other great reviews. Awareness for other potential clients. ***In regards to your response below, all you had to do was let me know (text/phone call). I searched on Yelp, needing to find the right company to do the upgrade without an unnecessary upsell. Carlos reached out to me right away and took the time to listen and explain the options. It turned out he showed me a much better way to upgrade our system and get a better value. I was able to pre-purchase the components from my prior solar company at great savings. Carlos' company provided the panels. Btw, Anca Solar's pricing was very reasonable and within my budget. I scheduled the service and the guys were great, even arriving early. They got the job done in one day and the system works great! The biggest plus is, Carlos responded to my emails very quickly, keeping the line of communication open. He consistently answered all my questions and left no doubt I was in good hands. I can't say enough great things about Carlos and Anca Solar. If you're reading this review and are looking for a solar company, look no further. Again, many thanks Carlos to you and your crew!

I really appreciate the direct accountability and quick resolution. I'm leaving my original review below for transparency, but their prompt response today restored my confidence in their management. I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Buyer beware: the installation team does good work, but do not trust a word management says about referral incentives or post-sale promises. Still waiting for my $500.

I did not know the date for installation until a delivery of equipment showed up at my house unannounced. It was a good thing I happened to be home that day! I thought the installation itself had gone well. They installed the system in two days and everything looked great. Then, I had to wait for the meter collar to be installed. I was told it was going to be performed by their technician. Turns out it has to be done by SCE and that had not been scheduled. After I called again, SCE was finally notified. SCE arrived several days later to discover the cables were too short to install the meter. Now I have wait again for OC solar to come out again and fix this issue and wait again for SCE to finally install the meter so that I can use my new system. I hope the system works.
