Nick and Brady came out a did a thorough, easy to understand presentation about their product and which system they recommend. They were not pushing hard to sell. We felt their goal was to help us understand about solar power, the pros and cons. We had our concerns about investing into solar. We interviewed 4 solar companies and eventually decided to do it and use Renewable USA because we felt Nick and Brady answered all of our questions without bias. I really dislike writing bad reviews, but I have been really patient . Our tax guy recommended us to this company because he knew the person from this company and he had a good experience . It's been a year and until now our solars for our back house are not working . I have spoken to Nick and he said someone would return my call after giving him my information . I have text him as well and no answer . I financed the solar and I'm still paying for it . It really sucks !! I'm beginning to think that maybe all the good reviews are from family and friends . DO NOT USE THEM!!! I chose this company for my solar installation because they're local, and I expected better service and personal attention. Unfortunately, that couldn't be further from my experience. From day one, I've faced so many issues I can hardly cover them all here. First, during installation, they drilled holes all the way through my roof in the middle of the rainy season, causing my house to flood twice, damaging my furniture and belongings. Since then, every time something goes wrong with the system, I practically have to beg them to come out and fix it. I end up feeling uncomfortable and awkward, as if I'm being a nuisance just for asking them to do their job and ensure the system they sold me actually works. For example, my 2-gateway meter has been down since September (nearly three months now), and though they initially promised to address it, they've been completely unresponsive. I've sent multiple texts with no reply. Out of sheer frustration, I finally called Enphase to find a different provider who can come and check it--thankfully, they're coming next week. Meanwhile, I'm still stuck paying off a loan for a system that's brought me nothing but trouble. If you're considering investing in solar, save yourself the headache and choose a reliable company!!! read more

We put our system in January 2015, it hasn't worked for the last four years. our electric bills are worse than before solar . I finally got renewable to come out and they said it was under warranty but now I can't get them to come back out and fix it. They are trying to hide from me until January when my warranty expires. April 14, 2023 was the NEM 2.0 deadline and this company was doing there best to get my application along with other customers approved by this deadline. As a result, they were backlogged as were other solar companies. However, patience prevailed and they came through with a new composition roof on the south facing roof where the solar would be installed and installed the solar panels and electrical support equipment within a few days. The workers were very good and the quality of workmanship is excellent. Brady followed through with the hook up and installation of switches and controllers as needed. His explanation of how it works was thorough and he reassured me that their support would be there when needed. I have been repeatedly dissatisfied and disappointed in this company. My system has been down almost half the time I've had it ( about 2 years now). They come out and "fix" it, then it's back down in 2 months. It's down now, and I've contacted a few people, and NO response! I've left Brady Ryan 2 separate texts, and he hasn't replied... it's been a week! I'm paying monthly on a loan I got to purchase the system, and it's Not Working! I have the loan through Salal Credit Union, (who they use as a finance company I guess), I am going to let them know what they are exposing their member Update 8/20/20. It's stressful finding a reliable solar company, so it was a relief finding these folks. Nick and Brady were great to work with, very knowledgeable and made sure they did the job correctly and efficiently. They were responsive, answered all questions and didn't use the typical, intimidating sales tactics that other solar companies use. I made the mistake of using SunRun for my personal residence, and they were a nightmare (no shows, delays, misrepresentations, provided a defective inverter, and a defective battery). To add insult to injury, it turns out we way overpaid with SunRun--even with the Costco discount. I had a contract of 4.06 KW system. The install was done on the day they told me. However, I did not get any updates for my system for many days. They told me twice that they will come to fix the issue at a certain time but didn't come. When they finally came, I started to get updates from the Solar system for 2 days. The system stopped sending updates, I tried to contact them, left voice mails, emails but no response. Oh, the two days system send me monitoring info, the max power was 2.2 KW. I try to call the contact number on the website, but never get to anyone. -------------- Latest update, got a call from them informing me that they will resolve all the issues. Let's see. After our meeting with Nick and Brady, I was convinced that this was the solar electric company for us. They planned the custom system to maximize the number of panels on our roof. We needed it to be esthetic and hidden from view. The planning was meticulous and professional. They did all of the engineering and pulled the required permits promptly. The installation team was efficient and they completed the project on time and on budget. The good news: 1. Our average $350 ($300-$550) SCE bill for electrical generation, transmission, and tax charges are now $0. 2. Top of the line Equipment and Service! Renewable Energy Advantage was 1 of 4 companies I had evaluate my $1200 monthly average job. If I could give these guys 6 starts you bet your solar butt I would! I had them install solar panels on my roof. They were actually a referral from my friend's ex-wife (which normally I would ignore, but she scares me)- so I took a chance and I am glad I did! They were way more competitive on pricing than the other competition and more importantly were very clear upfront with the cost, savings, and overall process and timing. I talked to a few different companies and REA was definitely the most reliable. I actually went down to Candelaria's office in San Clemente and the guy was eating a Chipotle burrito and spilling hot sauce all over my estimate. The place smelled like cat litter and overall they were not helpful at all (almost like they didn't need my business). Also, I caught one of the guys walking out of the bathroom without washing his hands (not a big deal, but a pet peeve of mine). I was skeptical but since my previous Solar equipment was stolen (long story) by previous installer after 5 yrs of operation I needed a replacement system. Nick and Brady have been great to work with and I highly recommend going with these guys if you are considering solar. First, I met with about half a dozen Solar Installers and 5 of the 6 sent out a sales guys (not the owner) and 5 of the 6 quoted me thousands of dollars more than the quote I received from Nick and Brady. Aside from the price, their process of looking at all of he potential energy saving opportunities is unique. For example, they weren't just looking to sell us a solar package, they calculated the savings by upgrading my pool pump to a variable speed and swapping out light bulbs for LEDs. Ultimately, they figured out how much energy we could save before sizing our house for solar. The engineering and permitting process was fast. I even had "permission to operate" from SCE 4 months faster than my step-father did when we went with one of the other companies (1 month v. 5 months). The best part is that after receiving my first bill from August, their initial analysis indicated that I would still average a $55 bill in July-Sept. Well my bill was $1.11 for a full month from July 25th to August 25th, where it used to be well over $300. Ultimately, these guys are knowledgeable, do a great job of communicating and answering questions, and the solar package they offer is by far the best value around. read more

I had an 11.25kW system on my previous house and was very particular about who I selected to do my home in Orange County. I have a slate (not tile) roof and live in Corona Del Mar where my HOA can be a nightmare. After speaking with Nick, I knew he was the right person to do my install. I knew which modules and inverters I wanted used, Nick and his team were familiar with and had done installs with both. He not only dealt with my HOA, he took care of getting my neighbors to sign off on the plans. The install is one of the best I have ever seen. Renewable USA was great to work with through the whole process! I had a complicated job in which the panels would be mounted on the hill behind my house rather than my roof. After checking out the area, Nick was able to figure out the best solution to maximize my power generation and minimize my upfront cost. He explained everything in detail and provided a very competitive bid for the work. I had three other companies evaluate the job and Renewable USA was ~5% cheaper than the next lowest price and ~35% cheaper than the most expensive company. Nick also found a way to save about $2k on the install that other companies said wouldn't work due to permitting rules - but he was right (no issue with permitting) and this saved a lot of time and money during the install. In addition to installing the solar system, they also replaced my pool filter with a more efficient model and replaced all my old light bulbs with much more efficient LED bulbs. My monthly electricity bill of around $1,000 has now been reduced to less than $20. They got through the whole permitting process quickly despite having to deal with both LA County and the Coastal Commission - not an easy task. Also, the installation went very smoothly and all the installers were super friendly (even when my dogs ate the sandwiches that they had brought for lunch on the first day). In addition, I had one of the LG panels crack a few months after installation and I called Nick to ask about warranty coverage. He said that he would handle everything and he had it swapped out for a new one within a couple days - the follow up from this company has been amazing! Neither company seemed to be "on my team" or try to work with the aesthetic of my house, they just wanted the sale. I decided to look for a local company, one that would better understand the weather and community, various pricing options, and knowledge about the best return on investment. Brady and his crew fit the bill. Not only did their prices destroy the competition, but their service was immediately noticeable as a step above. Brady did the initial site visit and explained everything, with a thorough understanding of our area and its weather patterns. He also explained and provided many other ways to reduce energy consumption, with the goal to be the cheapest and most effective way to eliminate our electricity bill. Since our house is a mid century rancho, he recommended very low profile, unobtrusive panels, with a layout that couldn't be seen from the street. The installation crew was also top notch. Marco, Manuel, Brian, and Clark showed up exactly when they said they would, ready to work. They were polite and obviously trained well. They got the job done fast and were very detailed. The panels are gorgeous and the cables running to the circuit breaker and inverter are VERY clean and painted to match the house so that they are barely even noticeable.
