She responded on a Saturday shortly after I called the business number and leaving a voice message. It is evident that Johna knows her business along with being extremely helpful, responsive, and patient. SMU was very transparent from the beginning with the permitting status and advising when different phases of the work would begin. The Project Manager, Frank Loria, visited the job regularly to see that everything was being done according to the contract and and kept in touch with me as the owner to make sure that I was happy with the work being performed. All of the in-progress inspections and the final inspection that were performed by the Building Department were approved the first time which also says a lot. I highly recommended Sheet Metal Unlimited (SMU) if you are looking for a quality metal roof installed on time and done the right way the first time.

For us, it was repairing drywall damage from our complete HVAC duct replacement. Old vents are not the same size as new double-wall vents, and we had additional condensate damage from the old leaky vents/ducts. Lots of critical, highly visible work. Our interior literally looks like new now, without having to repaint all the ceilings. He was prompt, super clean and neat, trustworthy, and reasonable for the level of skill required. I liked the way he got in touch with me quick, during the rest of the day 4 more companies got in touch with me but I wanted to use Corey because he seemed honest and the price was fair. They have a flat rate service I choose for handyman for the day. David came to my home a few days prior to the job appointment day to look at the work to make sure it could be done in a day and agreed it could. He came on the agreed time ready to tackle the job. He also picked up the materials from home depot I needed to get the tiles done like the grout, this was a nice plus. The job started at 9am and he was done by 5pm. He came back the next day to set the grout as it needed a day to dry. Everything went smooth and we are happy with end result. I will be using David and Corey for future jobs, thanks guys!

I gave Shawn 2 days....I wondered if he would ever surface. I text his this morning thanking him for blowing me off and wasting my time. His reply "sorry, if it makes you feel any better, I would rather be working for you than this jerk off - I'm stuck in this job ". So whoever has Shawn at his house this week, that's how he feels about you ! Second response to my numerous texts "yeah you're right, I should have reached out". Yes Shawn, you should have reached out. PATHETIC Okay - so now Shawn has replied. Yes, he did message me - begging me to remove my review. Did I reply ? No I did not. I ignored his message , just like he ignored our appointment. Yes, we did set an appointment. Shawn came over to give me an estimate - as he was leaving he said "see you Wednesday morning". Why would he be apologizing if he didn't set an appointment up with me ? Seriously Shawn. Don't make things worse but lying. There is another review here that states you never showed up........ Was I "thrilled" the last time you were here? No I was not. You put house number on the front of my house. They were ridiculously crooked. You said it's the numbers. I said it's not Shawn, please come back and straighten them. You did come back. They are better, but still not straight. You did not use a level - for sure !! You replaced screen on my back patio door. The screen came loose about a week or so after - and I wasn't even living here at the time. So loose just from the wind. You replaced 4 porcelain tiles in my office. Those tiles were all much higher than the rest of the floor. I asked a few guys after and they all said - he put too much mud. He definitely didn't check to make sure it was even with the rest of the floor. You had a guy pressure clean my back patio. Yes a fine job. And you used your blower to blow a few leaves out of my gutter. And you cut some bushes for me and put them in the front yard for the garbage. When you came to give me the estimate, you said "you know I could have remodeled your whole house. Everything I see that you did here, I could have done and I told you - I will beat anyone's prices". Well I didn't call you for the major stuff to remodel because I was NOT thrilled the first time. I called you back again because I had another handyman who didn't show up. And another who couldn't do the work for 3 weeks. The things I trusted you with the second time were easy things. Moving furniture around. Putting shelves together for my garage. 2 smoke detectors. Easy things that didn't need to be straight or could have a problem in the future. Again I WARN before calling you. You only have yourself to be upset with. Not me for speaking the truth. That's why yelp is here. For customers to express their experience. Good or BAD

In this case we can open up a new category, Beyond Good. If you value your time and money then keep reading. I did a lot of due diligence before selecting a company to work with, to help ensure not only a good job once completed but a good experience. I will share what I did so you won't have to. I spent almost 6 months researching and came across slick commission sales men wanting to charge triple the price, wanting me to pay up front for damage they have not seen, shady finance options, if you sign today the price may change tomorrow tactics, and don't fall for this one. Once we open it up... you may have to pay more based on any extra damage we find. (Insert Contractor Voice). Don't be a victim, change your middle name to Victor or Vitoria and claim a major roofing Victory/Win with Bryan and Elite Roofing. My time is pretty scarce, but Bryan and his staff know how to manage time, meet deliverable dates and was in constant contact to provide updates and actual guidance in helping us decide between a metal roof, tile, or shingles. From taking care of the paperwork to all the permits, which came back way sooner than projected due to relationships with permitting office, to meeting the requirements for insurance and hurricane preparedness. Elite Roofing exceeded my expectations on all levels. The price was in budget, they were able to get the custom color we wanted and the entire roof was done within days. They took care of all repairs before installing the new roof. They even went above and beyond by helping to trim/haul away a few hanging branches from exotic fruit trees that the tree trimmers missed. They even came back to do extra touch ups and took the time to make it perfect, they put in premium vents (complimentary upgrade) and made us feel like a priority the whole time.
